Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.
8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

As if Luffy wasn’t handed a super OP power-up in chapter 1 that is the sole reason behind ALL of his success and ALL of his feats, that was so OP a senior CP0 member like WsW was sacked and made a criminal for losing it.

(Not to mention being trained by the Pirate King level hero of the marines since birth and being born to a line of legendary top tiers whose relationship with him has saved his skin more than once… oh and being best buds with one of the 4 Yonko who saved his ass at Marineford… and getting the legendary hat of the pirate king, trained in Haki by the Dark King of the Pirates, maybe being the son of 1 of the 7 warlords if the trans crocodile theory is true, am I missing anything ?)

But sure, Zoro’s a cheat because he got a cool sword.

Well this is solely based on positions within their crews, I would put my money on Smoothie.

We've seen more of Ulti than Smoothie, but since Smoothie seems to be a YC2, I say seems because she has the 2nd highest bounty in her crew, she is stronger than Ulti.
Ulti is a YE (Yonko Executive) and we've established that YCs > YE's.

But honestly, Smoothie doesnt give me vibes of being that remarkable, I would not be surprised that Smoothie is actually below Cracker in strength and in bounty due to the WG not knowing Crackers true identity and causing his bounty to be lowered than it should be, possibly higher than Smoothies.
Smoothie hasnt shown off her skills properly, but she doesnt seem that strong.

Also we needed a change of subject, Zolo vs Sanji gets tiring.

I believe that Smoothie is stronger. She shows very little but the little she shows, seams promising. She makes a giant flying slash with little effort in Whole Cake. Ulti is strong, but the fights in Wano are just strange… Seriously, Ulti are not supposed to last so long after being hit by a hit of BM.

Hody Jones vs Rob Lucci (Pre TS)

I think that Hody is pretty weak for NW standards and Lucci pretty strong for Paradise standards. I can see the two of them being equals

I personally think any Post-TS fighter would destroy a Pre-TS Villain.

Hody is probably stronger than a pacifista since even Hyouzou could tank hits from G2 Luffy.

Man, I think that the most annoying discussion on OP fandom is Zoro vs Sanji, but I can understand from where it’s comes. But Zoro vs Luffy? That’s just headcanon in my opinion… No offense, but I really can’t comprehend how someone can think that Zoro is nearly Luffy tier. Zoro is YC1 tier. And if it’s not consolidated by now, that last colorspread cemented that. The possible next opponents of Zoro are Shiryu, maybe Ben Backman… All YC1. Far from the Yonko tier.

I'd like to think I treat everyone quite fairly, but a lot of your posts just give off the impression that you're purposely ignoring a lot of what the story has presented to us (both anime and manga) and just rolling with whatever makes the most sense in your head. As of result of that we have these long and pointless arguments, where yourself and the other members of this forum are unable to reach common ground.

I know that logic is flawed. Believe me I know, it's just that she had brought up Luffy's blood Line somehow gave him an advantage over Zoro, which is why it even came up in the first place and it just spiraled because if she truly thought Luffy was strong because of his bloodline then it made no sense for her to then claim he is only strong because of his DF. And of course I asked about Zoro's possible relation to Ryuma being the reason he is strong and of course she flipped again. It's okay for Zoro to have a strong blood line but not for Luffy.

She changed her stance like 3 times in 1 discussion.

It was very apparent Luffy was naturally a weakling as a child and took years, even with a DF, to get stronger. He wasn't just automatically a strong child because of his birth, like a Big Mom who was naturally born a monster
