Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

  • For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
  • Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
  • Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
  • We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

  1. Shanks v Mihawk
  2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
  3. Zoro > Luffy
  4. Zoro v Sanji
  5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
  6. Mihawk's rank within the story
  7. Law having CoC currently.
  8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

Can you guys help me out.

Who do you think is more durable. As in "can take the most damage" and if you can rank them.

Jozu, Sanji, Cracker(Biscuits), Mr. 1, Katakuri

Haki is not allowed in your ranking. This is base durability. And latest showings as of 1034
Oop this should be interesting. I'm ranking them considering their DF abilities as well if you don't mind ^.^

I think the only one I'm confident in is Jozu as first lol.
Jozu did have some amazing feats in Marineford (we're not gonna talk about Aokiji shenanigans) and he's diamond and I'm sure power creep would help him if he appears again. He did tank "the strongest slash in the world" after all so I'm sure he'll be at the top of the verse in terms of durability.

Now it gets tricky lol I would say the positions 2-4 can be up to interpretation and debate lol
Cracker was handling G3 level punches with his biscuits while Katakuri was up against G4 for a good period of time, albeit he was using Haki. I can't say for sure here lol but I'll give Katakuri 2nd over Cracker cuz he's hailed as the best of the BMP, but Cracker right behind cuz tanking G3 with ease (Biscuits) is no small feat. I think we would need to see more of Katakuri's sheer durability (with Mochi and without haki) here to make a sound conclusion lol

Ik we haven't seen much elaboration on Sanji's feats with his Germa exoskeleton as yet but based on what we've seen thus far, tanking and breaking Queen's sword and regenerating bones should put him close to if not surpass Cracker/Katakuri. Queen really hasn't used haki for us to see how his Germa endurance/exoskeleton fares against ~YC level haki (like Biscuits vs. G3 for eg.) so idk lol. I would say tho, if he does come out of Queen's fight relatively intact and continues to do stuff on the live floor I would say he could easily go to 2nd.

In conclusion, Idk lmao

And well, that leaves Mr. 1 for last lol

I would also like to see your thoughts on how Marco fares in this ranking

Marco I had considered but I felt it so obvious he is above the ones I listed that's why I left him out.

I have:
Marco(Optional)
Jozu=Sanji
Katakuri
Cracker
Mr. 1
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

jozu, cracker, kata, sanji, mr 1
Any reason I'm particular for putting Cracker over kata?

crackers biscuits are low key broken. it beat everything luffy threw at it and needed the weakness for luffy to stand a chance
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

when i think of it, who knows what else crackers biscuits might be able to beat. like it literally didn't even budge against luffys attacks.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

cracker has the type of hax that can basically fight anyone under yonkou level. so all yonkou commander levels are in his range tbh.

People are overestimating 20 years younger Moria. He was never a RIVAL to Kaido. Some bunch of nobodies mentioned that he fought Kaido at one point in his life, which kinda hyped up Moria but as we know, Kaido killed all of Morias crew and defeat Moria. Moria was so shooked that he gave up being PK for awhile or challenging himself and focused on his zombie crew. Kaido tramautized Moria, so I do not see Younger Moria anywhere near Kaidos level.

That small battle scene we saw in the anime is nothing to base off that Moria was on the same level of Kaido. At best I would give Moria a YC3 level and that is pushing it. Remember Moria also had a bounty of $340m, which too me is pretty low to be challenging Kaido or being a "rival" to Kaido even if this was a younger version of Kaido.

But he was mentioned as a rival to Kaido?

If he was YC3, Kaido would be bored and no diffing him, instead of having fun with the battle.
If it was some no diff stomp instead of a good battle, why would it be mentioned as one of the highlights of the 5 intermediate years?

Not saying he was Kaido level at all, but definitely strong enough to give him some difficulty

Also remember that Bounties are inflated at this stage. Ace only has 500, and he is arguably the strongest YC2 if not bordering YC1.
Plus his bounty was frozen after becoming Shichibukai

Don’t think bounties are too reflective for shichibukai tbh
Crocodile was only 88m and he was more like a 350million man minimum at worst
Conscious Kuma deffs worth more than his 296m bounty
Hancock strong as hell and worth less than 100m at the time of her bounty freezing and she’s like a 500m woman
Doffy worth more than his 340m designation on freezing

Pretty sure that jozu while in diamond form is straight up indestructible. Kaido, big mom or king have nothing on him while he is like that. Cracker's biscuits evidenced being extremely durable though without haki they could be broken by gear 4 attacks from back then. So I don't think they make the cut for exceptionally durable. Katakuri was not shown as particularly durable. He is fairly durable but his forte isn't the capacity to take damage. Sanji has shown he can be straight up bent an return to human form... His durability is probably off the charts at this point. He definitely can't hold a candle to jozu's diamond form though. So it'd be jozu, sanji, katakuri. I don't think the cracker comparison makes sense.

From least durable to most durable:

Mr. 1 would be easily defeated after Arabasta. Any CP9 agent with Tekkai could duplicate Mr. 1 durability.

Ignoring his Logia-esque ability, Katakuri is not extraordinarily durable for someone of his strength. IMHO Doflamingo was far more durable than him, and if Katakuri took the same damage he would be down much sooner.

Cracker's biscuit soldier is not so durable either, and was taken down by a single hit of Gear 4. He only managed to keep fighting because he could create new soldiers as fast as Luffy destroyed them.

Sanji now has a special body, and he was able to shrug off a blade from a Yonko commander. However he's still not invencible, as his brothers are the same as him and were all beaten up by stronger foes.

Jozu is very much indestructible in his diamond form. Seastone is said to be as hard as diamond, and not even the Yonko can do anything to it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to comment on mr 1... His durability should be pretty high, equal to iron in OP, however we know that iron alone is essentially butter to swordsmen with mediocre competence in the new world. I suppose his base durability could be a factor of his base strength * iron constitution but it still doesn't sounds like something that would make him nigh indestructible within OP. Pretty high but not absurd. I'd be fairly surprised if it matches up to the vinsmoke's exoskeleton. If only because the vinsmoke exoskeleton seems... malleable if you will and can seemingly return to a previous form. Like sanji after getting crushed by queen or yonji after being deformed by sanji. I am not convinced mr 1 would simply put himself back together if crushed by queen.

The luffy that fought kata was leagues stronger than the one who fought doffy
And kata kinda overdid it when he stabbed him self

Wait, are we considering devil fruit when ranking? I thought that was only for Cracker

Ok, further context on cracker and his biscuits... Looking back it definitely took gear 4 to break past haki reinforced crackers but before that gear 2 luffy struggled with them. So... that's still plenty durable considering how strong luffy was at the time. We saw that gear 2-3 luffy could hold his ground against doflamingo for a bit (though not THAT long) and gear 2-3 was basically enough for luffy to best all his NW enemies up to that point. Gear 2-3 luffy was short of doflamingo, let alone YC1-3... but IMO it was about enough to be comparable to a mid tier yonko executive. So... yeah, the soldiers are still pretty durable, just not so much that people in cracker's tier couldn't break them.

No the problem with gear 2 and gear 3 luffy wasn’t that he Thouhht he couldn’t eventually defeat doflamingo using them it’s that he believe it would take too much time

Not really... Immediately before that we had a chapter entirely dedicated to the fact that neither gear 2 or 3 were effective against doflamingo. Gear 2 was fast but didn't hit hard enough, gear 3 hit hard but couldn't touch doflamingo. Luffy held his own for a bit but he just wasn't going to win with those gears.
