Frankie is probably crying because of Yggdrasil wood or something.

More likely to be the former the ladder would be kind redundant you ask me.
This is a manga where we have both a horse that ate a bird bird fruit, and a horse that ate a horse horse: model pegasus fruit. There's a kilo kilo fruit, and a ton ton fruit. My main complaint wouldn't be redundancy, it'd be me wondering just how many mythical zoans are going to be in the story by the end. I fully expect there to be one in Elbaf I guess, but man there's been a bit of a glut on zoans, especially mythical. I guess the same way WCI was all about paramecia, and Wano was all about zoans, I was *hoping* Elbaf would have more to do with logia, what with giants and logia both being called "the strongest" respectively.

I think Logia are honestly harder to create compared to the mythical zoan. Plus Oda loves using references to real cultures which mythical zoan connect with better. Maybe what Oda needed to do was create a subclass within logias that could mix into this type of motif so he could create more of them while getting to do the cultural stuff e.g. why not a thunder logia (the sound/shockwave itself not lightning) with a Thor reference from a mythical point of view.

It seemed like he wanted to do exactly that once upon a time. And it's funny you bring up the thunder logia, because that's Enel's fruit (goro goro means rumble rumble, as in the onomatopeia for thunder). Enel utilized his fruit in a way that's suspiciously similar to a mythical zoan transformation too (complete with hagoromo), though who knows if that design means anything (though Enel utilized his fruit in so many ways I have to assume he was awakened).

Ah interesting point on Goro Goro meaning thunder and not lightning. I generally prefer having two distinct powers, one lighting and the other thunder, but it is common for the two to be mixed up. Enel definitely seemed awakened to me with all the things he could do with his fruit powers. I also assumed that transformation at the end is what going full awakening mode looks like for a logia where they take the form of some type of deity. Oda hopefully can go back to that and show us more forms for other logia.

Like you said there is also room to add more logia powers instead of repeating existing ones. He still hasn't done powers like being made of stone/rocks (not just sand), being made of a metal (no cutting like dice dice) but being able to be and produce metal in combat which would give a different type of invulnerability, being made of random stuff like clouds like he did with soot could also be cool. He has a lot of room to play with but seems he likes to stick more to classic elements.

And of course there could possibly be a water logia.

My brain just wants to relate this to the Shanks or the Franky hint, lol.

I think as time has gone on, we've come to see that the Mythical Zoans are actually the "strongest" devil fruit in terms of out-of-the-box ability. They just get way too many powersets that something like the paramecia need to awaken in order to compete. I also think there might be something going on like with Conqueror's Haki. It's a 1 in a million power, but so many people in new world have it. But that's just a consequence of the new world being the place where everyone with the power ultimately ends up.
I think it's similar with the zoans. The majority of the upper-tier Zoans made it to the new world. Regarding how many mythical zoans we're going to see, I'm going to guess 20 more, assuming the Gorosei are mythical zoans too.

Like you said there is also room to add more logia powers instead of repeating existing ones. It's interesting to see the difference in perspectives. I would never call the Logias a group of classical elements.
Snow and Ice? Lava? Sand, which is just fine earth? Gas?! Every single gas in existence?! (That one flat out goes into the periodic table of elements.)
No, the Logia elements have a weird logic to them.
When I think about this, what I really wonder is how does Oda make the distinction when deciding which is a paramecia and which is a logia?
Why is poison a paramecia when synthetic gas is beneath a logia?
Why does Mochi get called a "special paramecia." Because of Katakuri's mastery pushing him to have logia-like properties. Why does "diamond" stay at the paramecia level when it's a naturally occurring substance?

Something I would suggest is that the majority of the Logias actually are not pure elements. They're the product of reactions or combinations.
Ice and snow are frozen water.
Smoke is produced when wood is burned. Soot is the other state you can get.
Swamp is a combination of water, plants, and earth mixing together.
Lava is superheated earth.
Gas encompasses an entire state of matter.
Sand can be seen as a combination of wind and earth. Croc's powers also expanded to desertfication, so he ends up with a biome power like plant and swamp.

If we try to tackle the tricky ones:
Fire is plasma, born from a chemical reaction, and also comprised of super-hot gases.
Electricity is the product of moving electrons.
Plant encompasses a whole kingdom of organism.

The Light we see is actually less classical element and more hard scientific. We don't see any interactions from it that you would see in typical fantasy.
Blackbeard's darkness is associated with gravity, and it does have similarities to Caribo's swamp. I would say that Blackbeard actually has the most 'fantasy' style interpretation of the element.

As One Piece went more toward the scientific with Vegapunk, I've become a little more open to the idea that the Logias have to be seen under a scientific lens, as opposed to a fantastical one.

I do fear though that Oda never really thought about it, and only designed the powers as the need raised. Maybe one day Vegapunk will give a proper definition of the Logias.

This plus he also knows he's about to die, so he has to condense it all into a certain amount of time.
It's more accurate to say he had to condense it so he could get the important globally relevant parts out before the signal was cut by the WG, not because he was going to die. His death was the trigger for the transmission to start remember?

Shanks + God Knight Shanks are clones of Garling?

That would mean we need to an extreme jump to cover it. I'm not sure we would do that this chapter =s
What if it's a Vegapunk clone? Or maybe one of the giants is a clone of someone ridiculous.

I’m willing to bet the Franky hint just means Oda is going to pay tribute to Kazuki Yao.
Good idea! Franky was designed with him in mind. This must be a big deal for Oda. Oda's probably talked with Kazuki for hours. Heck, he may have had days' worth of calls with him by this point.

I could see Luffy being a clone of Joyboy. No mom, all the personality traits. Barely looks anything like Dragon or Garp.

Dragon just finding him in some sort of cryogenic chamber wouldn't be a new trope. There's Horizon series, Crystalis, and a few others.

Yes
Which is why I said that, cuz he knew they were coming to kill him soon cuz he was aware of the spies that were being held down in the basement thus figuring out that there was a traitor around. So he had to limit all this down (an entire library is worth of information) into a bite size in a very short amount of time (I believe a couple of days)cuz he knew they were coming to kill him soon.

I just didn't feel like spelling all that out at that moment.

Ooooft that would be a huge kick in the pants. Do not like this!

Luffy shares a lot in common with Garp. Like how they fall asleep at the drop of a hat (Like that water 7 scene).

At first I thought this was Darth Vader's helmet lol.

With this and the other hand saying clone makes me think it might be the Shank look alike.

Actually if we were following this pattern then Egghead should have been about logia's lol. And it would have actually fit too considering how much the arc revolved around science.
It's just really I think this would be a waste of a df mystic zoan which I hope would be as limited as possible especially after the Gorosei who for all extensive purposes are mystic zoan users and Loki who I suspect has one too.

Ehhh I still consider Egghead a transitional arc, it was just a long one that sorta stretches the definition of transitional. Which fits as something of a sequel to Punk Hazard, that had a similar thing going on.

Teach their own but anything arc longer than 30 chapters can't be considered a transitional arc. Even though was just one fight short of being just a regular arc to me lol

Hmm perhaps we are seeing Imu and the Gorosei this chapter. Or at least getting something about them.
Maybe even that summoning circle that was used.
By the way I bet this one's for the last page.

Maybe it’s referring to the Numbers who were cloned from Ancient Giants.
While I think that‘s very well possible,
I don‘t think it would be surprising/ shocking enough to anyone to make a hint about it.

Since there are ice and snow logias, meaning aqueous logias do exist, I‘d love to see an acid logia. Like nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid or hydrochloric acid.
