Last year break due to eye surgery was too short (one month after a eye surgery, c'mon). I hope it isn't another promotional break like for the Netflix show, those breaks are irritating. Maybe he's in grieve after Toriyama death?

But even if it were....is it really that important to know?

@Franz - it depends. If he's taking break because of the state of his health, family or mental issues I'm all supporting for him. If this is another pointless Netflix break, then this isn't much to my liking. I read One Piece since 2008 and goddamnit I wish the manga continues to the end as smooth as possible, all the more because lately manga has been great visually and narratively.

Netflix break was irritating because it stocked up with eye surgery break (which was completely understood and benefitting, after the surgery quality of Oda drawing went up). We've got like 8 or 9 months of One Piece last year?

I am always a little bit irritated with those commercial breaks and breaks in general because, yeah, I am XhX fan also and you know how Togashi story went. Oda is not the same, I know, but I wish his great work to continue now because Egghead is one of the best arcs in the story. That's all

Good point. Golden week starts from Apr 29. This chapter releases on 24th officially. 3wks break means next is due on Apr 21. So if are likely getting at least one chapter between the two breaks.

Yeah just checked that it's 29th April it starts, but then again the magazine goes on break from publication before and after golden week.

Meh, as long as he gets time to rest or work on other projects I'm fine.

Not sure why people are still against the Netflix ADAPTATION (Google the meaning of adaptation) of One Piece when the creator himself has given the input and authority for the changes in pacing, etc.

Garp was already around East Blue back in the day, it's actually a miracle they didn't meet like in the live action.

I don't get people that just throw shade to the show without even watching it or just because it's not line by line the story we are familiar with.

Just get to enjoy more one piece content and bring more people to the fandom.

Thing is, this is live action, it will never have the same pacing because people will get old and change too much.
It won't be rushed, but it also won't be as "time stopped" as the manga and anime have been.

It's still faithful to the original story, even with the changes introduced. I honestly see it as a: hey what if this happened sooner.

The Avatar one is REALLY good as well, they did the show justice. The one tiny thing that I was annoyed at was making something that we only learn in Korra be introduced, to do with air benders.

Still, pretty damn decent. Can't wait for book 2 and book 3.

I agree but you are talking about the hardcore fans who will nit pick. I won’t lie, I did the same for game of thrones because I read the books first. But, I had to take a step back and I see it now. Loved it! They will also catch up to the anime quickly if they will continue to bring out the live actions. Oda is known to drop subtle hints. We may find what one piece is in the live action.

I never watched Korra. So not too sure what the slight change was but avatar live action phenomenal. Glad they found the perfect sokka and his sarcasm and the cabbbage guy HAHAH .

Funny you say that. Mine was Pokémon, original digimon, gundam wing, escaflownay (huge spelling mistake) and of course dragonball Z was what brought me to the anime world. Avatar was just phenomenal on its own. That final fight with the fire lord….

Oda is one of the only writers I've ever witnessed who will literally expose a detail known to every cast member, including the protagonist, but still hide that shit from the reader. It's so infuriating and bait-y. A world broadcast that they can certainly hear on Egghead (since Saturn was aware of it), which is where we currently are, and somehow we, the readers, are trapped in a sound-proof chamber with no visual into the announcement. Typical.
