We might get some, but I'd be surprised if all 5-7 are Three Kingdoms themed. I wouldn't complain though, there's a lot of good choices there. Guan Yu Reinhardt

Imagine crying that a hero who only has 2 event legendaries gets another one for the same event but two years later. Love hater tears
They've been sharing a skin each day since Friday, and the event starts Thursday, so I'm imagining there will be 6 legendaries this event. Usually shared themes don't cover all of the event legendaries either. But I think it'd be cool if they could since there's so much to choose from.

I don't actually know if Dva fits the theme or not though. Like, what would they do with her Meka? You could make her look like any number of characters but you barely see her like that.

If there's only one reveal left before Thursday, and that's all of the legendaries, I guess they might not do the Five Tiger Generals (no Mao Chao or Zhao Yun) or the Three Oath Brothers. Though, maybe on the latter if the last skin is Liu Bei.

So much for them all being Romance of the Three Kingdoms...
First teaser mentioned his "adaptability" and this video mentions "choice". Watch him have two different sets of abilities based on whether he wants to play Support or DPS.
And no one will use the DPS version since he's going to be Zenyatta 2.0 and slot in perfectly into the current GOATS (triple tank, triple support) meta.
Tends to be Reinhardt-Zarya-D.Va-Lucio-Brigitte-Zenyatta. Some people will play Moira instead of Zenyatta, and occasionally you'll see Winston instead of Reinhardt.
It's not really a thing except in high-rated games. But people do it because it's effective, and if one team does it, the other usually has to switch or they get steamrolled.
It definitely doesn't make the OWL any more exciting, I will say that

Someone mentioned maybe a singleplayer campaign about him fighting and taking out the Talon team coming for him from the story.

His kit is sooo overloaded. Has really good AoE healing with his grenades, an AoE HoT with his Shift, his E can make targets in an AoE unkillable for a period of time (granted, this can be canceled by killing the little robot, but it might have way too much HP), his Ult doubles damage and healing of projectiles that pass through it.... oh and he has some sort of charged, megajump to reposition. And he does decent damage with his main fire as well. Granted, he's more like Ashe in that playing him requires aiming and a brain.... but I feel like he's capable of doing too much. His throughput is comparable to a mainhealer, but has the utility of an offhealer and he's perfectly capable of taking people out with his gun.
He's only going to make the GOATS meta worse, as he has so much AoE healing and abilities. Watching Jjonak play him with Gold Eliminations, Damage, and Healing....

There isn't much that can make the OWL exciting at this point. You get the odd interesting strat, but for a studio that's seeming to focus more on E-Sports now than actual game development, the sport is kind of abysmal.

If the meta is popular or not stale it's not bad, though I think a lot of it's popular is totally manufactured with them doing token drops during the streams, etc. Blizzard isn't interested in eSports, they're interested in money. They had a very hands-off approach when it came to the eSports scenes for all of their other games, the only difference with Overwatch is how huge the eSports scenes for games like League of Legends, CSGO, Dota2 have gotten. With franchising now being a thing, they can charge an insane amount of money for entry into the league, as the eSports organizations themselves now have massive investments in then now as well. The problem I have with OWL is that it feels too inorganic. The other games I mentioned at least had a grassroots appeal to their competitive side, the OWL has been commercial since the beginning and only really exists because Blizzard-Activision decided they could make money with it.

I was just thinking the other day Ana could just a super jump feature to get around easier. He looks complex and OP. I agree that he will make GOATs worse and mayreplace Zenyatta or Brigitte

I'm not sure if he's OP because he isn't brainless and the immortality field has decent counterplay. But he's obviously more complex than something like Zenyatta or Brigitte, since he has more abilities.

If the first game is getting all of the new heroes and maps as well, I'm not really sure what we're actually paying for with the new game. Just the story PvE and Hero missions? They seem like they're aiming for them to have more depth than the Archives events missions with talents and items, but I still don't know how much replayability they'll really have.

The execution is an unknown for me since we still don't know what the price will be. I can appreciate them not leaving the first game in the dust, as well as everyone's achievements and cosmetics. And releasing multiple new maps and heroes at once with it's release might reinvigorate the game.
