I know it's insensitive and politically incorrect, but I just find myself not caring about the people affected by any natural disaster... The name "Mothra" comes to mind, when thinking of the second quake...

In a country where appearances are everything, it is. I get into a lot of trouble for being VERY blunt with words; it's not something I care about, but it can get annoying at times.

It's kind of the opposite for me. I sympathetically tear up over sob stories I want to be sympathetic with (and the Japan tragedy has a lot of that, especially when you watch the news and can understand Japanese). So, in order not to look like a big crybaby, I have to not care about tearjerkers when other people are around.

I wish I had real means to help, but life is difficult right now as it is.

jap gov't raised the alert level to 7, the same level for chernobyl, saying there isn't any new concerns, but it's just that level. no radiation leaks, just radioactive materials leaking out the ocean.
