LOL i thought i draw kero keropi. :P

but you know what? im really getting used to this "no rice" thingy. The apple-banana-pineapple combo for dinner seems to be working for me, at least at an acceptable level by my tummy.

I thought the thread was supposed to end at the 1000th post?

Anyway, been away for a while and I haven't been updated with what the latest mangas are nowadays save for One Piece. Anyway, anybody knows why the scans are released soooo much earlier than when Shounen Jump actually hit the shelves? Just wondering. I mean, my friend back there already read the latest chapter and I still have to wait till Monday of every week to get my copy.

By the way, how is everybody? I'm too lazy to backtrack through all of the pages and past threads to check out what everyone's been up to.

@MD
you're back in the middle east i see. and 30 lbs in 3 months?!! you should really be concerned about that.

@BB
maybe a bit late but regarding ants, you could use floor wax on wall or floor cracks. prevents them from coming out. also, when my old room was infested by ants, i used to pour scalding hot water inside the holes.

valentine's day and white day tradition is a real pain. been trying to find a good enough confectionery shop since last week only to wind up in the shop in front of the station.

well it's good enough but we found this super cheap apartment in Chiba so we're moving there.
Good thing you got a good job in abu dhabi what with all the tension in the middle east. me, my it skills are rusting with all the desk job that i've been doing for the past year. the only thing that i'm thankful for is that i get to get A LOT of japanese practice.

madali namang masanay sa no rice e. iwasan mo na din ang white bread and potatoes.

well, I figured, what the hell.

hmm.. I never wondered about spoilers, since I always waited for quality scans- and don't participate in spoiler discussions much.

yesh! exactly! Bigla ka nalang nawala, shijin-san!!! like, I'm more interested in what YOU'VE been up to :wtf

that's why i had been trying to find a new job. in fact i just had an interview with a recruitment company last night. hope they get me a better job than the one i\m currently doing.

sorry about that.
for the past few years(?), well maybe i kind of gotten tired of doing manga all the time. waiting every week for the new release, searching for some new ones to read etc. when it eventually boiled down to "reading only one piece" i guess the habit of checking mangahelpers every singe day just went down the drain.

when i was popping in and out of the forums before, i was engrossed in studying japanese. i got this book about kanjis and, well i got addicted to studying. 3 years of self studying, even at work, eventually landed me in a japanese class. there i got introduced to some company who hires people to come to japan as IT guys. got hired last year of may and been here ever since.

but i do miss you guys. that's why i posted again to check everyone out.

well, I figured, what the hell.
yeah!!! to hell with the 1000th post!!
no offense intended to the one who actually got the 1000th post.

that's what i was actually wondering about. when i came here, i was waiting at the newstands during friday mornings. WTF! there was no SJ. and you WILL know that the latest already came out since japs would definitely be reading them on the train. so what the hell?
maybe subscriptions come out earlier?

eh bakit, may pagbibigyan ka ba?
obligatory chocolates. binigyan kasi kami nung valentines kaya kelangan magbigay kahapon.

be sure to substitute rice with a different carbohydrates source. or you'll get cranky. and bb's right. no to anything white.<<(no racial discrimination intended)
but really i'm on a strict diet right now (because of a tight budget) and i find that if i don't eat rice for a day i get hungry all day through. so what i do is eat rice for breakfast and lunch and no rice during evenings. and i try to jog at least a few times a week. can't jog now though. the whole country's like an effing freezer.

result: dropped 40 pounds for the last 10 months.

that's great, dude. hope you get that job. sa panahon ngayon, there's no other way but to go up, career-wise.

40 by 10, nice.. but its kind of different for me. i get hungry at night when i eat breakfast. so worked it out like this, which actually had pretty good results: no breakfast, eat lunch big time, eat snacks before 6pm and nothing after that (the "before 6pm" rule is a must), jog on weekends and whenever i can during weekdays.

that made me lose 35 pounds in 2 months.

With my current work, I actually don't have time to read manga anymore, which I miss terribly. I have a long list of new manga to try but I can't even keep up with my current ones. :/

Still, I make it a habit to come here, for when I do update myself with the current titles I'm following and get my mind blown away by awesome story development, sometimes I just have the urge to visit the chapter discussions and see what others think of the chapters too. (specifically, HUNTER X HUNTER).

@MD 35 in 2 months? that's scary. you might have lost muscle mass in that short period of time.

true! rice here is awesome. but costs 5 times as much as rice there.

Aren't rapid weight changes more dangerous than say, just being fat all the time?

finally moving to the new apartment tomorrow. finished packing all the stuff, save for my futons and this laptop i'm using. i've already cooked something for breakfast to save time in the morning. all that's left is to clean the room before going. i'm gonna miss this hell hole!

hope it doesn't rain too hard tomorrow.

yes it is. and the worst thing is your metabolism gets slower because of too much muscle loss so in effect, calorie burning slows down.

@MD

man 35 lbs in 3 months! that's scary! ingat ingat ka adre. baka kung anong side effects nyan.

you're not the only one who thought that, really.

In our province, when they found out who stole the phone cables (like, kilometers worth of cablezzzz), the house of thieves were massacred one night. The bullets easily went through their nipa walls, see. :oh

Working hard for it is the answer. Prayer as well, and a little bit of street smarts. I know from personal experience, competitors nowadays are like sharks. You have to eat them first before they do.

yeah. i know. scary, huh.

it is. im not that happy about it either, but that actually worked for me back then. i guess i just had a lot of weight to lose.

unfortunately, they are. i heard it can stress out the heart, thinking that it should pump faster than it should.
