awwwww im really happy for you but at the same time jealous for a similar feeling right now im having great fun here but im not satisfied with 16k, need mowr. btw what job is that bakashi?

16k is a lot for entry level yonie so you should be really thankful for that. My wage is only a bit higher than yours but I'm happy with it since it's higher than my previous one. I'm still a helpdesk, just like what I used to do before. But what I'm thinking is since we're the pioneering team, peteks pa yan. I'll probably be sleeping more than ever at the office than I did back at my old work.

BTW, how are the calls?

btw i read dan brown's books, da vinci, angels and demons, deception point etc... let's say it feels like code geass, you know its just riding on a hype and he's overusing a plot but you still cant stop reading it

I must agree with the overused plot here. It's good to use it in one book bu to use it n almost all of your books is overkill. I'm not putting him down but it seemed to me like it's the only thing that he can write about.



OH and all movies turned to movies (in reference to the book/movie Da Vinci Code) for me are crap. No exceptions on that one. Movies turned to books are all the more crappier. One entertainment media should just stick to it or if they're going to transfer it from one media to another (i.e. book to movie)....naaah, it'd suck as well.

@bakashi: really?? i thought that's the average for entry levels, like if i was there in manila i could earn around 20 or more? cus in cebu as well they earn around 20. but i am thankful for this, my wallet is tight all the time already just this isnt enuf to live alone so i have to seek better pay

and the calls are great, i've yet to talk to an irate customer that won't calm down to me seriously the only problem i get is reaaaaaaaaaaaaally slow "technically challenged" customers that takes a lot of my patience, forcing me to do 5 facepalms every minute

entry levels are like starting at around 12k and above. that's the average especially if the company that you'll be working for is a Filipino company. those who get 20k for fresh grads are those people who are "monsters" in their batches (e.g. laudes, council officers etc.). but then one thing I've learned in the IT industry is if you want to earn a name for yourself, certs are the way to go.

sorry guys but whenever i hear people say that a movie is an adaptation of a book, i turn it down flat. call me biased but it's just me.

LOTR was good but the book was waaay better. Godfather...errr...i can't say since I haven't watched the movie nor read the book.

i'm not really a fan of American authors. unless it's a classic or unless i just want to ride the bandwagon (dan brown), you won't see me pick up a contemporary American novel.

I agree, there are few really good american authors IMO. But mario puzo is one of them. A classic if you must. XD The godfather novel is just absolutely amazing. Work of complete genius.

Education system is different here, since we finish school at 16. But if i were to go to say, america, i suppose i would be in high school, probably grade 12 (?). (Thats without me moving up grades, though...i heard there educational system is really "good" over there )

depends on what kind of "education" you'll be getting. traditional school education here is either very good or extremely poor. streetsmarts and smart assery are top notch though.

@bss, I think that expression evolved from "okay fine, what ever" then " 'K fine, whatever". I still recall using the "K-ver" one and it evolved into that current expression, keber. That's what I get for being a little sister hanging out with my sisters' gay friends babysitting me in college.

@16 it is pretty high, but i know other companies pay higher, like 18-20k... and the company that rejected me that-i-want-to-burn-before-i-die offered around 21k! that's why i think it's smaller... even tho yeah 16k is hella big man, i can only waste around 1.5k every week

I did. -_- That's why I said I got the 13k offer. I openly told them that I will be going to school in November, and they didn't entertain part-timers. So I'm contractual.

And I'm back here in Bukidnon. I'll be back in Cebu in about two weeks.

That's deluded, hunt. Architecture is a very hard profession here in the Philippines. Fresh grads like me, if we work in a firm, would have only be given 6-7 k per month salary. That's even below minimum wage! Because we're apprentices until we get our license, and the law states that we work for 2 years as apprentice before we can take the board exam. Fucking joke, eh?

Currently though, I'm doing my own little projects (I'd been doing this for a year now) with my boyfriend and we average about 25k a month but we split the profits. That's already spanking good considering we're both unlicensed.

better get a few certs here and there yonie if you wan't to pursue an It career. While it is important to have actual hands-on experience, that paper can earn you more mileage when it comes to careers.
