Dead isn't a NA qualification, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure there were at least 2 living NA professors in UP while I was there.

Problem with E-heads is that if they qualify for NA, then Rivermaya, PnE, all those rock groups during that era should qualify too.

It's too early for Francis M. There should be a nomination process but it should be years after pa. Like choosing a saint, or a hall of famer, wait x years after death/disband/etc

I'm against the whole "National Artist" thing. Do we really need more DEAD heroes and EXCESS holidays? We should stop worshiping dead people and invest our energy on pushing forward.

I'm not a fan of Francis Magalona, but I do respect his work. Even so, I believe that the most he should get are a post-humous award, a charity named after him, and to be inducted into the hall of fame.

Edit: Almost had a heart-attack...a football site had a headline stating "England have changed their manager to kevin keegan" (very bad choice)...but it seems sport journalists have a sense of humour, who would have thought it.

Although I was never for the 2nd Eheads reunion concert. they should've waited another year. Tsk.

I don't think so, imp. Coz you got like, a lot. and on different levels. for us National Artist is the same level for different fields of art like Film, Visual Arts, Music, Literature, etc. You got like, different orders and stuff, right? Like Gordon Ramsey is of higher order than Jamie Oliver.

We'll have to agree to disagree. . IMHO, at their peak, Rivermaya was way better than E-heads. And saying that when I'm an Ateneo-hater and UP-lover is hard.

On a side note, one of my pals from my Kalayaan 'posse' had Marcus's room on 1st floor boy's wing. We discovered his grafitti in the closet. Brings back memories. "Minsan sa may Kalayaan, tayo'y nagkatagpuan..."

i'm a fan, but i'm not that fanatic like i'd agree for the national artist award just weeks after he's dead. i respect and admire his music like i admire the dawn or asin or apo, but that's all. he's not the greatest artist of all time or something

speaking of the last eheads concert, i'm so glad i wasn't there. people were singing with ely ALL the time. that's ridiculously annoying imo, i come to a concert to jam and listen to the band. i bet ely himself was annoyed at that... i know its a reunion concert and all, but you can't enjoy a concert that way you know

I'm actually a fan of both groups but I would have to agree that Rivermaya was way better during their peak especially when Bamboo was still with them.

And as for boxing, Pacquiao all the way~
