dsemu. haven't found that certain better emulator i saw a schoolmate was using.

was it No$gba? I dont know but when i use them it plays at decent speed on my com but after going through vba and older pokemon game speeds, it seems to take ages!

Yep. I think you can get it at nocash.de. What I liked about it was that you can play 2 devices simultaneously (i.e. you can trade).

Heh. Sorry I just had to say that.

What I'm trying to say is that you should never be distressed by liking "girl stuff" if it really has the content that grips you to watch/read more. It just means that the story was well written, regardless of the demographic it was intended for.

If I'm a girl and I read Naruto (although I don't ) it's okay. So likewise, a guy reading shoujo/josei should be alright as well. It doesn't mean anything.

Hey thanks, the truth is I've already finished watching the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I've just read many reviews that most girls are watching it - that is why I am pretty worried myself. LOL

RE: Yuutsu no Suzumiya Haruhi and girl's stuff. Don't get fooled by the pop-ness of it (even though I haven't really seen a lot of it).

If it doesn't have bishounen (girly-looking men) amidst flowery backdrops and girls talking relationships, it's not girl stuff.

Besides, don't worry about gender stuff in anime . If it interests you, there's nothing wrong about it. It's nice to have a perspective into the mind of the opposite gender.

Haha, Math Books! You're in college? Or graduate? My first non-local school textbook math book was a US high school text book (I think) that covered everything from basic number theory to basic probability and statistics to basic analytic geometry to basic calculus. My dad bought it for me as a pasalubong from the States when I was grade 5. Calculus at grade 5, heh. The second one was Mathemagics.

I loved Math as a kid. It has switched to programming though.

re: pokemanz- Yar, Empoleon was crap. The only logical choice to make was Infernape because of the lack of viable fire types, and his speed (which is quite crucial in sweeper teams).

re:BW pokemanz- I'm pretty sad about these guys as well. The obvious choice is to pick Enbuoh for his stat and type advantage, but his extremely slow speed will leave you open for attacks. Jalorda on the other hand is a strong sweeper on paper, but the lack of strong one-hit grass moves prevents it from becoming a true sweeper (what will you do after your 5 Leaf Storms are finished?). Daikenki is a good all-around pokemon, but it's bound by just one type, and will most likely be replaced once the player gets his hands on a Ludicolo.

lol Aerial Ace. It only has its perfect accuracy going for it. My Staraptor wouldn't be caught dead fainted with it.

And why is everyone belittling Empoleon? It's a sweeper with a ton of resistances! It can either go Swords Dance/ Aqua Jet or Agility/ (Ice Beam/ Surf/ Hydro Pump). Personally I go with SD/AJ (with Ice Beam to counter ground types, and Substitute). Besides I hate monkeys.

It used to be for a living (when I was healthy enough to be in a regular job), although I still get paid for programming every once in awhile right now.

Ahh...i have to go through it in uni. Im thinking of learning python first before we begin learning langs. I think they teach us java first and i read its better to being with python? Meh, thats all next year though. =/

Java is way more useful than python IMHO, and strictly speaking, python is only a scripting, as opposed to a programming language. The only encounter I've had where I've seen python used is in AI scripting, and even then most games right now use Lua (CiV for example) anyway. Another alternative is perl.

If I were you, I'd study C/C++ first. It's harder to master, but once you've mastered it, everything becomes easy. Besides, graduate students mostly only do C/C++.

Yea they're going to teach us one of the C's (or maybe more who knows...>,<) but they said they would start with java first. Ah so much bloody work, im not looking foward to it. Its not even a strictly computer science course. Its computing, so they're also trying to stick as much html/css/javascript and systems engineering shit into our heads .

I'd go for java. It's probably not be the easiest to learn (lolVBscript), but it's still relatively easy considering the diversity of the things you can do with it.
