Dun naman sa FMA, nagsimula gawin ng anime kung kelan tatlong volume pa lamang ang nilabas (mga 11 chapters?) ayon sa nabasa ko. Kung ganyan kakonti ang source material (malamang mas maraming chapters na ang nailabas nung nagsimula na ito ipalabas sa TV sa Japan), talagang mag-iiba ang kwento later on. Tuloy pa rin ang manga!

although volume 1 lang ung nabasa ko, by the time the storylines diverged, afaik, mas malalim ung mga backstory sa manga kesa sa anime. iba rin ung mga naging identities ng ibang homunculus at mas malawak din ung naging venue ng story like....
there is an equivalent for china for example and chinese looking characters...
might dl the entire manga naman in the near future....for now, satisfied na ko sa anime and wouldn't want to cross storylines...

Ate Purps: Awesome wasn't it? Marvel 1602 was also written by Gaiman. It's got Marvel characters in it, almost similar, but, living in 1602. Frikkin awesome.

mukhang malayo na ung divergence nung dalawa so sa tingin ko magkaibang-magkaiba na cla like maybe kenshin (although d ko pa tapos ung manga ng RK at FMA and d ko pa kta ung ending ng RK). see the wiki for the differences or basahin mo na lang ung manga. baka nga lang mahilo ka sa 2 storylines.

i think KTS comparing rurouni kenshin and fma... the way the anime storyline steered away from the manga storyline. Although the difference is yung sa RK, nagsplit dahil nag-abot yung anime and manga; sa FMA, the divergence was planned before the production, di lng dahil nag-abot yung anime and manga
As for Marvel 1602, it's not an old title. It's quite recent. Just a few years ago. Erm, unless you're talking about something else? >.> I don't read DC comics, save for Fables (which is Vertigo ^_^. Very detailed artwork and awesome paintings <333
fma, rorouni kenshin, bleach, naruto anime and others suffer/ed the same predicament, anime catching up to the manga. rk, bleach, naruto took the easy way out, stretch the anime with filler. fma on the other hand, took the basic precepts of the manga and extrapolated its own storyline, which imo was nicely done. rk, on the other hand was cancelled before the manga canon was to to be reanimated and was just animated as ova na iba na ung storyline. as you know, bleach has resumed animating the manga (although it is quickly catching up) and naruto shippuden is to air feb. 15.
