Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 4

speaking of the paleman, when i was watching the movie at that part, i screamed all-throughout- and i could't sing the next day. ehehe it was i swear the scariest thing i've seen.

re: ethel- nag-improve naman ng konti, pero kadiri pa rin hahahaha.

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 4

makikisama ko sa paleman discussion na yan.

I chanced seeing a mockery of that character dun sa isang palabas sa ABS kanina. Ginaya ni Eugene Domingo yung idea na may mata sa mga kamay (drowing ng pentel pen) pero di sya Paleman. Pero m,anghuhula daw sya kuno. Naiinis ako na natatawa dahil sa ginagawa nila. I don't know if it's a parody or stealing of an idea.

napadaan lang ako....btw = just saw the new mr.bean movie....and i gotta say....i'm not that impressed. i find his old TV material better than the movie; that and there were so many people talking while the movie was going on....
This is one of the main reasons why I dislike watching movies in big screen. Granted that you will be enjoying the picture via widescreen topped with 5.1 Dolby surround system, but people beside you keeps on spouting some nonsense (especially those who like to speculate).

re:ethel booba

well, if you ask me, she could have had chiseled her chin.

EDIT:

re: movies

Thanks for the suggestions but my anti-cliche syndrome is kicking more so than usual. I'll give those a try.
BTW, anyone watched Ao no Honoo?

OFFTOPIC: I just finished reading Life of Pi. It's a good read and there was something there that really moved me with reagrds to religion. :amuse try it! (takte para kong nagha-hard selling ng product a)

@bakashijin on movies: have you watched don juan demarco starring johnny depp? (i bet DZ has)- it's one of my faves. watch it. ^_^ and of course, nothing beats watching the godfather trilogy all over again.

It's both. :s I hate it when pinoy shows do that. There are so many other things they've done which are so cool, and their own idea. Yet they go and do that too.

Like...Gagamboy. I had no idea what to feel while watching the movie on TFC. XD

But anywho.

:wtf Actually, I haven't yet. I don't get too watch too many movies unless it's an new movie, or such. We don't have any other tv channels other than TFC, as our free cable has been distorted since years ago. :s

Or...*cough* kung may pirated dvd dyan. >.> Or torrents *cough*

btw, i'm still awake because I was reading nodame manga -_- and i know i should be sleeping coz it's enrollment day tomorrow...

@miyi, don't you just think this is a boring basketball finals? and are you saying james is better than MJ? IMO, not in a million years. MJ fan ako for life... hehe

re: basket
i used to follow the nba during the golden years of MJ's twilight years....a lot were expected to follow his footsteps but none made the cut.....if what you're saying about James is true....was he better than any of the previous hopefuls?

re: paleman
ohhh, got to reasearch on that.... :smile-big

I'll try to find a copy of that. Johnny Depp is one of the few hollywood actors that I like. Have you seen his old movie "What's eating Gilbert Grape?" He was great there and also young Leonardo di Caprio was also great.

And I'm hearing so much about this Godfather movie-thing. Maybe I'll go and watch it.

@yonie

Yeah read Life of Pi! It's wonderful! Though there maybe some ridiculous parts but it is still one good book.

bakashijinsan, what’s it about? It sounds interesting, maybe I’ll go read it.

About the Godfather: the first two films are both my favorites. The third one, not so much, but it’s still very good.

Well, I think MJ is still better, and will always be better. Lebron is young, and he is the next great basketball player, but he will never surpass MJ imo.

Lebron wouldn’t be this good had he played in MJ’s Chicago Bulls team, against the likes of Dominique Wilkins, Dumars/Thomas, or Larry Bird. Plus, the game was so much more physical back in the day, and there was no such thing as an “easy basket”, because you’ll get pounded by people like Bill Lambeer or Rick Mahorn (aka the “bad boys”).

MJ dominated the game like no other. Besides, I’m more of a Kobe fan than a Lebron fan. I think James is hella good, but not that good.

I was comparing him with MJ just to show how good he’s currently playing, that’s all.

About the Finals: I want to see some elbows and kicking of the crotch…if this happens, then it will be truly exciting. :smile-big

It's not about religion per se. But there was this part in the book that just made me realize how a religious man can go beyond being more religious. But what really caught my attention is how Pi went to being a castaway/zookeeper/territorial animal all at the same time.

And I'll try that Godfather when it's my off.

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 4

i love mob movies! especially martin scorsese's! godfather, casino, and my recent fave the departed... i just love those themes! i even read mafia books, like rage of angels by sidney sheldon and other mob novels, i dreamed of being a mafia hitman. bang bang

@MJ and lebron: honestly, if you're watching the stat sheet of lebron, and you're an MJ fan, be really scared. check out his records in just four years:
* Youngest player to be named NBA Rookie of the Year (19 years of age).
* Youngest player to record a triple-double (20 years, 20 days).
o Recorded 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists on January 19, 2005 vs. the Portland Trail Blazers.
* Youngest player to score 40 points in a game (19 years).[7]
* Youngest player to score 50 points in a game (20 years, 80 days)
o Recorded 56 points vs. the Toronto Raptors on March 20, 2005.
* Youngest player to score 2000 points in a season (2004-05 season).
* Youngest player to average 30 points per game in a season (2005-06 season).
* Youngest player to reach:

* 1,000 points
* 2,000 points
* 3,000 points
* 4,000 points
* 5,000 points
* 6,000 points
* 7,000 points
* 8,000 points

* Youngest player to win an All-Star Game MVP (21 years, 51 days)
* Youngest player to be named to the All-NBA first team (21 years, 138 days)
* Youngest player to lead the league in All-Star voting (22 years, 26 days)
* Youngest player to score atleast 20 straight points in a game
* Youngest player to score atleast 45 points in a playoff game
in just four years lebron carried the cavs to the finals. MJ took six years. and lebron did it all by himself, without a solid partner. AND he's still growing in this game, what if he finally reaches his prime??? it's unthinkable really. and he's got to be the SICKEST dunker in the game! not many people can GRAB A QUARTER ON THE TOP OF THE BACKBOARD. that is one sick jump

@BSS- there's practically nothing i can do when i want to watch a movie.... i mean, i hate people that speculate and talk while watching, but if i stop watching in movie theatres that'll mean that i don't get to watch things on time (since i don't support movie piracy)...:scry i just wish the movie ushers were a lot more strict....

@the pale guy- ah, gets ko na. you guys mean the palle guy from pan's labrynth! okok....i loved that guy! it was so freaky my brain forgot to tell my body to flinch or do any actions...i was just glued to the screen! :XD

There's one thing that I'm thankful for the torrents. I can watch it at home in private with no buggers. I don't mind being the last to know about the movie (since I rarely watch). If I don't want to download a movie, I'd just rent a copy of the DVD from Video City. For people who would spoil me, I just shrug them off and threaten them if they would persist.
