@chinese concetration camp: im not surprised at this. slavery in china is still rampant especially by the powerful. it may be not known but slaves are forced to work everyday still in china. some of them got discovered and all but still, considering the size of that country.... even in the olympics there were allegations of child slavery. nakow.

speaking of superpowers, the world was freaked out when china used a ballistic missile to destroy a weather satellite early this year. so now, japan developed and tested its anti-missile ships and its all good naman, they can destroy missiles from afar. DAMN there is cold war here in asia too, in the circle of japan, china, korea and US. the philippines as usual is just another probable expansion area to whoever team gets here first

yeah man, i always check the RSS headlines everyday. im a news person. i learned a lot of stuff there. plus the BBC site is great, very light to load but informative. besides we were talking about the superpowers right, putin is one of the main characters there mos def

what i don't like about it is China will be a contender for the new world superpower. the other one is Russia.

That's like, not even a prediction. That's fact that it will happen, china being a superpower. I personally don't mind, except for the extreme pollution they're causing for their infrastructure. Man, more than 300 towers, wtf! And they're buying out everybody's steel!

Hello hello~!
Wow, this is the first place I've ever gone to that has a Pinoy Thread in it's forums. This is kinda cool. It's too bad I can't speak Tagalog.

I'm full Filipino[with a little bit of Chinese apparently... I dunno that's what my mom says], but my parents just taught me English; but I do understand enough Tagalog to get the gist of most conversations. It's just that I will usually respond in English. Though the reason I don't speak it is because I can never get the accent right & I end up sounding too 'white' or too over-exaggerated.

And my parents probably won't teach me because I make fun of their accents all the time & the fact that my mom can't pronounce 'comfortable' and 'hippopotamus'. It's hilarious.

But if anyone here can give me tips on speaking Tagalog, that'd be great.
I need help with Bisaya too if anyone knows it. ( ˃ ３˂)

don't worry, we write (or type) in english, but we speak in tagalog. this thread's been like that for the past 5 versions. you'll know when we're speaking or thinking.

You're right baboysai, I actually live in Southern California & have lived there my entire life. Though I've been to the Philippines when I was younger.

And my favorite manga is.. I dunno. I like a bunch but my main favorites are Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Mirai Nikki. I mostly like stuff with violence and maybe some ecchi. Aaand... I'm currently reading a lot of manga like the mainstream stuff [Naruto, Bleach & Haruhi] as well as ones that no one has heard of like Oni-Gokko, Mirai Nikki and Embalming.
