I have not reread the chapter, but was it happen after their leader turned into dolls? Or probably after trebok caught them? Because tontata tribe is filled with simple minded creatures and Sugar's ability in making people's memories disappear might have something to do with it..
the plan was to knock out sugar with that tatabasco (fake grape). leo was about to put it in her mouth. usopp was happy about that because he thought he needs to put it in her mouth. Robin saw that Trebols accuracy is really good because he shot a little fly not just shot him, shot the fly between his eyes. Robin saw that with her DF, because she made a hand with an eye on it or so to see it better. then when leo was running to sugar she stopped him because she knew leo has no chance even though he is so quick. he took him back with her DF. somehow Trebol & Sugar saw him and the other dwarfs went to fight with leo but they had no chance. Robin couldn't just stand then back and wanted to help the dwarves, but usopp said this is their chance to run away. At the underground trade port, Robin used her Devil Fruit powers in an attempt to knock out Sugar with the spice the dwarves were going to use. Unfortunately, she let her guard down for a moment and Sugar touched one of her arms, transforming her into a toy. While wandering in the trade port, Robin wondered where Usopp went and put her hopes in him as well. everybody forgot about her and ussopp was like: WTF leo was about to really succeed with the plan but suddenly he didn't. and he asked himself why he's still there. Trebol hold down the dwarfs with his slime and then burned them all. and they all believed in their saviour and called USUUULANDOOOOOOO when they were half dead and that he will come to save them, but trebol just laughed about it and said there is no saviour, that everything was a LIE. Ussopp was already gone but heared them screaming from the loudspeakers. he was nearly out but then turned around and fought trebol & sugar but he had no chance. trebol cought him, sugar put the tatabasco in his mouth, believing it was poison and said: DIE. then his face turned reeaaally red and scary and sugar got knocked out because she was so shocked.

No, the original plan was for Leo to plant it in Sugar's grape basket unnoticed. That was the whole reason they went through the effort of disguising the sauce as a grape in the first place. Charging at Sugar all guns blazing was never part of the strategy.

well Robin was the only one who changed the plan. it was her idea because she thought leo wouldn't make it, she steped in and changed the plan instead of just put it in the basket. because she knew that there was NO CHANCE to do it unnoticed with those eyes of trebol
No, Robin realized that approaching Sugar was too risky as long as Trebol was with her, so she lured him away from the tower so that they can continue with their SOP strategy. Trebol was the only complication in what was an otherwise low-risk, effective plan and Robin took care of it. It was the dwarves' decision to turn it into a suicide mission.
Have u watched the anime? In that they put the spicy grape in the basket and when sugar picked up the fake grape to eat she looked at it and then threw it away. She knew it was not a good grape by looking at it cuz she has been eating grapes non-stop for more than 10 yrs and has great experience. Because of this leo changed his plans to feed the fake one to her by force.
Then the anime fixed the inconsistency that Fried mentioned, because that scene is not in the manga. Fried had a point as, in the manga, they did seemingly drop the Tabasco Plan and decided to use brute force for no real reason.
Fried mentioned it to be an inconsistency more than a plot hole, so a plot hole isn't being discussed. The problem is that the Spicy Grape Plan was dropped for no reason after Robin distracted Trebol. There isn't any mention of them attacking her because she had the appearance of a child. Looking at other panels, Leo still had the grape, but instead of sneaking it into her bowl like the original plan, they looked like they wanted to just force her to eat it. They still could have used the stealth option because Trebol was being distracted at the time.
No it doesn't. With Trebol out of the picture, their original plan guaranteed success at the lowest cost and was simple enough to execute, so the change of strategy was unnecessary. They knew about Sugar's ability, so it was reckless and silly to confront her when they could have gotten the job done without the hassle of actually having to fight.
