Weird, I just checked out Iwashiro Toshiaki's wikipedia page. Someone very recently changed the pronouns from male to female, so recently that it still appears as male in the google search.

Originally I thought Iwashiro Toshiaki was female but then decided was male. Until we see photo evidence we can only guess from what information we have.

The Japanese wikipedia page doesn't specify Iwashiro's gender. Usually we always assume it's male, and I believe Toshiaki is a male name. Of course it could just be a pen-name so who knows?

What the!? Iwashiro Toshiaki is female!? I never even thought about that considering how "male" the name sounds (especially the Iwashiro part).

True Crude but like someone said (xi0), then it has to be a pen name... Being a lady/woman in Japan (and elsewhere) can be harder

Ah well, it is edited information and I highly doubt that the mangaka is female because it doesn't have the bishounen level like reborn and D.G-m have... or it must be that she can hide it very good

That was changed only a few days ago from male to female so I wonder where the editor got the information?

Kekkaishi and Fullmetal Alchemist are also by female mangaka and they lack the bishounen feel. Sometimes series by male mangaka have a strong bishounen feel as well, such as The Prince of Tennis.

I thought she was a male as-well. It's was kind of disappointing news for a second but then its all good. The comic is done really well.

Mangaupdates lists the author as male though:

Its only wikipedia that has so far changed, and we don't even know where that info came from. So its best to take it with a grain of salt for now, unless some interview comes up that would help to clarify.

No, no problem at all.
I just vowed that I won't read shounen mangas made my females ever again unless their main character started with a girl. Check out Inuyasha.. The author was female. I loved it cause I know that the author was using the female character through her own personality in some measure. Using her as if she was her through the driven manga.

But now we'll be seeing Ageha as the 'perfect male' to ever handle a romantic relationship. No wonder the romance stuff are sooo bold to a purpose. It's sort of like Ageha has his own harem...

Ranma 1/2 (made by a female) was great. But it just lacked all that real man behavior stuff. Does a guy really end up being ok being turned to a girl everyday? Lacked some realism on how a guy would actually feel.

I'm addicted to Psyren, so I can't leave it..even if I wanted...
It's just too sweet to a purpose. I just hope it doesn't lose sequence when it heads towards romance. (which it hasn't at all) Actually, Ageha is getting allot of character references from other shounen series to help bring the feeling that every shounen male character needs. Maybe it is to calm the fears of those who thinks the same as me.

He's still known for his looks. His acting couldn't have been the reason he's so well liked by his fans. Look at Ageha's sister. She'll probably file for a divorce when she lays eyes on Oboro at another time.

There's no proof either way. Everyone just assumes all Shounen manga-ka are male, this sort of thing happened with Hoshino (DGM) as well, until she made a public appearance at a convention in Europe(?). But even before that, the majority of fans figured out that she was female.

Whether Iwashiro is male or female, it makes no difference to me.

Hey guys I'm a new die hard fan of psyren i was just waitin on naruto and bleach to come on on mangastream and i seen the manga psyren 116 up there with kyle gettin ready to fight so it piqued my curiousity i so read it it looked pretty damn cool so i decided to read it all and catch up on it.. it took me two days to get up to date and i gotta say that psyren is Effin awesome seriously i like the whole plot of it i mean it starts off slow but it starts to pick up around manga 17 i gotta say tho ageha yoshina definitely reminds me of yusuke hakusho and ichigo kurosaki it's really a great manga i wish they had a anime adaptation to it but i guess it's still early for that .....now really my question is since ageha and co. changed some things from the past and made the W.I.S.E stronger by gaining more members in the future and what not does that also mean that the ROOT members also in turn got stronger or what????

I just fear that Oboro might become a WISE member

And I think Kabuto's power will probably be Rise-based, and it might have something to do with Yoyo...in fact I'd bet it does.
