Against Duke he only brought the Black Holes for the final 2 (or 3?) games in a 1 set match.

The only sign is from his match with Byoudouin, where we learnt that he can only use Black Holes for 30 minutes. Konomi hasn't made him play a 3 set match ever since.
The reason was that he had lost "something" that he now got back since pairing with Mouri.

My problem with ranking Tokugawa high right now is that if he plays against anyone on the top 5 spots seriously, he needs to go all out with Black Holes and likely dies in the process. At best he can keep them up for a single set but that's already forcing it imo.
...unless his evolved Asura is really that strong and can fight head on against anyone not named Byoudouin without the need of Black Holes.
Actually, Tokugawa used Black Hole to counter Duke's Homerun in the Duke Buster sequence. I had forgotten about that. What he did differently in the final games was using Black Hole offensively to not let Duke move.
Depends on how you interpreted:
QP vs Oni
QP vs Bismarck
Bismarck vs Tanegashima
Byoudouin's 7 in Power bugs me to no end since his profile says that his Power is a little more than average at best. I assume it raised a lot when he died.

The problem with that argument is if we start cherry picking which stats we think are accurate then Stats as a whole become meaningless. I argue they're already meaningless as we don't have updated stats for Japan or stats for most foreign players

Kimijima is mad underrated here. He was putting up a good fight basically playing 1vs2 with those 2 having 30 total in stats.
1. Byoudouin
2. Oni
3. Tanegashima
4. Duke
5. Tokugawa (probably ends at 1 at the end of the series)
6. Kaji (can be ignored because we never saw him play)
7. Ohmagari
8. Kimijima
9. Ochi
10. Tohno
11. Mouri
Straightforward, but after Greece I think Ochi deserves a bump. Unsure about Mouri.
Edit: Oh forgot about Irie. Probably 4th place rn, 5th when Tokugawa gets buffed.
What I noticed recently is the gap between G5 is not too big.
What I meant is if Someone is Injured, a Weaker Player in the same group can beat him.
For ex:
4th or 5th Strongest Duke Can Beat #1 Strongest Byoudouin if the latter is injured.
I mean Byoudoin's Strength Gap against Duke is not enough to beat the destroyer despite the Pirate's Injury.
I mean if injured Byoudoin (after beating Volk) would fight against Duke, Oni, or Tanegashima, and even Tokugawa back in Intra Tourney. Byoudouin will lose right?
Byoudoin cannot beat his G5 peers if he is injured.

Well I think it depends on the injury. Is the injury too severe that you can no longer spam your moves(OP moves) or a slight one?
For instance, the whole roof came down on Byoudouin 2yrs ago, of course, in that state he couldn't hold a candle to Duke, or against Monster Volk, he died and revived. Using 8C and spaming it on that level clearly won't let walk away unscathed. and Tokugawa's case of tanking Destruction in the stomach affected him using Black Hole as mentioned by Oni, it's a move you could only use for 30mins without hurting yourself on a level where your career would be shortened.
I think Byoudouin is head and shoulders ahead of G5, and soon, probably, Tokugawa would reach that level after his match with Medanore.

I don't think even a heavily injured Volk would win.
Perhaps only Nanjirou could pull it off?
...
What do you think the result would be if other G5 members played against a healthy Volk?
Could they win a set against him?
