Cleaning Redrawing/joining guides

i need some practice with my redrawing and joining and was wondering if there are some guides for this. The things i am having trouble with in particular is redrawing color stuff (because the area i usually redraw comes out a little discolored), joining where greys are concerned for the same reason as colors and redrawing in general. I sort of am looking for a method to help blend the redraws in better with the overall image so my prescence isnt even noticed at all.
