If you're trying to discover 100 years of hidden history you'll need a whole lot of different materials.
Books, maps, copybooks, entire libraries full of every bit of informations, theories, hints.
Where does Robin keep all this?
In her room, of course!

...Nope, that won't work.
Pirates or Marines may raid the Sunny (it happened before), the ship could sink, a mere cannonball may obliterate that room.
Her research will be destroyed in no time, she would lose years of work.
And she could be forced again to stay away from the ship.

Robin carries her research around!
That would solve some issues, but, again, the sheer volume of her paperwork renders this impossible. And even if she's great at writing enormous amounts of informations in a tiny copybook, if she's caught, a mere body search will result in her losing all her research, even if the copybook is written to resemble something else.

So, how she managed to not lose her research, up until now?
Her fruit seemed to have an "awakened" range from the start, so I wonder if the real awakening enabled her to access the hidden dimension that links her power to the place where she sprouts limbs, (her "room"), and now she's able to access that pocket dimension, but only by using sprouted limbs or her body double.
Maybe, by using a great amount of effort, she can carry small objects 'inside' or 'outside' that dimension, by grabbing the object with one of her sprouted limbs, and then by trying to re-sprout that same limb in her pocket dimension.

One thing is certain: she needs to lock away her research, in a place where no one will ever reach it, and she needs to always carry her work with her, no matter where she goes, or what she's doing.
What do you think?

That pocket dimension ur talking about might be her mind.
Even Vegapunk has to keep his research written somewhere, that's how Franky found it, in his old lab.

This is a very good point. Though tbh, I think she has memorized everything. A lot of what she has found is sensitive and even pertains to ancient weapons which she doesn't particularly care about. So keeping it all carefully logged in her mind makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if she left something with the revolutionary army though.

If she really memorizes every single bit of what she sees, she's really the biggest genius in OP! :D

Well, she may have left something with the revolutionaries... an then they were raided too.

Is there some place in OP that is raid-free?
Give poor Robin a break, villains! :XD

Lol...where does Nami keep her maps? Where does Sanji keep all his cookbooks? Where does Chopper keep his medical research? They all share Robins problem here. Lucky Zoro only need a blade and some alcohol lol.

Only 2 plausible things comes to mind. The obvious one that comes to mind is their exceptional memory and amazing note taking skills. The second is maybe they have a newscoo service except these fly docs away and leave it in storage in your vault. There's lots of cons to this like interception, thunderstorms, and...lol not to mention those birds are owned by Morgans... Pros are it is portable and you can save your work. But anyways these are my two cents.

Well, you're partly right here.
But no other SH have to store away informations that are so much precious!
Gorosei still wants to kidnap Robin, to use her for their purposes.

As for the other crewmembers:

Nami's maps: they're valuable but... not so much: SH have not reached yet a place where Marines and Yonkos couldn't land.

Sanji is a great cook, but I don't think that WG would want him dead, to stop him from cooking like a boss.

Chopper?
Great doctor, but even he couldn't save Luffy by that poisonous fish, while Reiju could.

So I guess that their stuff is precious for the well-being of the crew, but not that much precious to be stolen away.
And any other crewmember could just do their magic by experience plus a single copybook, without having to own an entire library to be operational.

Yes, Robin can read the ancient language without using a dictionary.
But still, she has to write down and elaborate on what she reads, or else she would not be able to do a proper research, at all.
Do you remember the third phrase of my post?
No?
Me neither. That's why you can't research a thing by only using your brain. :hip

She has a memory card she uses to store things. Don't laugh.

Their own version of mcards are called "dials".
She might use the "tone dail" to record her research (sound/voice recorded research)

Or

She can use the "vision dail". It's comparable to a modern day camera.

It's quite convenient to carry around and easy to use.

I honestly think the majority of it is only in her head. That's not too farfetched. She is a child genius, many times smarter than real life children of her age can even be. And her knowledge grew up alongside with her. It's incorporated knowledge.

Plus, until she joined Crocodile, she was constantly on the run. No time to write anything down. She didn't wanna share information with Crocodile either, so again not many opportunities not write things down. When she entered the Straw Hat's ship, she didn't even bring her clothes with her, if I recall correctly. So she didn't went back to her storage, which would have been in Rainbase and likely flooded anyways.

So yeah, anything points in the direction of Robin actually not having any notes.

This could be a solution, but anyone could just take those dials from her, and she'll lose everything!

For the most part of your post, I agree with you: she just can't have her research laying around, this just can't work.

But I don't think that she could really keep track of all her work, without leaving a physical trace of it.
Also:
Think about what kind of damage a devil fruit like Pudding's can do to her work of a lifetime, if the only copy of it is in her head.
She had to deal with spies, assassins and shady organizations, before joining the crew, she had to find a way to secure her personal belongings, even from most Devil Fruit users.

Maybe it's not a pocket dimension but instead she's secretely working as a storyteller under a fake name, and she writes her books hiding her research in it, so she only has to have 'regular' books sitting around.
Or maybe something else.
But she has massive amounts of informations to handle, and she can't afford to lose even a bit of it or to let someone steal it.

Most likely she writes stuff down. Robin is an "archaeologist" so it'd be helpful if she kept a record of her findings. It'd be helpful too in case she were captured. Again. She'd have something she could pass on to her nakama to keep the search alive. It's unlikely though Oda will cover this topic, but if he does, it's likely to be in the SBS.
