So, one detail I found remarkable is that - for I think the first time? - Robo's analytical abilities are coming back to bite him, or rather we learn that there's a concrete downside to them in that he has trouble moving on to the next point before he understands the ins and outs of what happened before. He overcame it this time with Kazama's help, but how do you see this kind of thing play out in the future? Will he learn to shift his focus by himself soon or will it be a more permanent weakness which his teammates will have to compensate for (not too hard considering he won't be by himself during team competitions)?

That could well be a recurring double edged sword of his. This could be a way to 'nerf' him somewhat. His weakness is experience, and his strength is performing skills/shots by watching his opponent. The former will eventually build through the manga. But to your point - I think both of those possibilities you mention are viable - and would be interesting either way.

My bet is Robo will need to understand the ins and outs imo before he can move on. A quirk of his is that he goes through the reasoning of something with great detail, and he's very determined once he starts something. It wouldn't surprise him if he got a terrible score in one round by just trying to figure out something.

Right. Adding onto that, I think it was important to point out that he simply can't copy what Kyosuke did with that chip-in even if he understands the principle behind the shot. Rion saying that he himself got lucky during the demonstration just by getting near the hole further underlined that - Rion definitely has more experience than Robo, but there's still a gap between what he can do and what someone on the international level is capable of.

This makes me wonder how Youzan compares to Kyosuke in this department though. I don't think he'd ever go for a chip-in like that, it doesn't seem to fit his personality in my opinion, but I do wonder if he'd be able to do it, say 50 or 60% of the time.

Well, that pretty much did happen here. He was still mulling over what had happened before and missed consecutive putts as a result.

Exactly. I think this diagram is a good representation of Robo's repertoire as a golfer...

Every time he picks something up, he'll gain more stats on that wheel. More area shaded = better golfer.

Yea, Youzan gives everything his all, but that's not the same as taking an extraordinary risk. My guess would be lower, like 10%.

In response to the poll, as a writer myself I would have to take the side of proper narrative progression and say that Suzaku will win this match by a landslide. Robo is realistic enough. He has little experience with the sport and the sheer difference in ability is glaringly obvious.
