Went back and read the chapter "Ordinary Peace" (OP) with Ichibei's cryptic comments. Based on it, we can be for sure of two things:
The opposite is "Ambitious Peace", where basically u destroy ur enemy without any compromise, the standard kind of peace the good guys follow in any story.
So, OP means compromise with enemy, which means RGs and Yhwach are still enemies. So, they being controlled or they being traitors is not where the story is going.
Also, it is clear that the Ichigo and the guys are not for compromise. They are for the second type. Ichibei however thinks it is impossible to defeat Yhwach and so has some kind truce in mind. So, while they both are against Yhwach, their way to achieve it is clearly different.
Actually, this makes the story a lot more interesting. This saves the RGs from being pawns in Bach's hands. At the same time it opens the door for the RG to be back in action, potential showdown b/w RG and the Gotei, clash of opinions on how to achieve peace etc.
As for the details, we can only speculate. It really boils to Ichibei's plan. It should somehow save humanity and also let JB remain SK. He is using Ichigo for his purpose, Ichigo fighting Bach suits his plan. Also, it would only work if Bach fails to foresee this plan. I am not sure whether,the revived RGs will simply him thoguh. He is their leader and also they may do it seeing the bigger picture. On the other hand, some of them, like Senjumaru have shown a lot more contempt for him, ans may not be so agreeable.
What do you guys think? Sounds believable? The whole thing really follows from the word "ordinary peace" and Ichibei's desire to follow it.
- Ichibei and Yhwach are not on the same side. The RG will not be working for Ywach.
- Ichibei and Gotei 13 are not entirely on the same side.
