Yeah Blake really suffers same goes for Ruby and Weiss tbh ( I know it's cool she got summoning out of nowhere but it shouldn't be the only thing that she will try to use to win ) Honestly dunno Kerry said that " We are aware " and they specifically want to focus on that but will they fix it? I honestly doubt that we will see all character back in all the glory..

Yes like with Weiss there is the growth of her as a person, which is wonderful and why she’s one of top two favorite characters but then there is almost this regression of her as a fighter from using the glyphs for speed and attacks with her sword as weapon to using her sword as a wand thingy to summon beings to fight for her.

As for Ruby, she was more childish in the beginning but she was also more proactive. Now she’s more serious but also more bland. As the main character, she’s rarely not supporting someone else and really needs a shining moment for herself to do something...... that isn’t related to Silver eyes.

Dunno why so many people have this kind of headcanon...

Adam is cutely disagreeing with me. That’s ok. I’m not sure where other people get it but my opinion is based on how Blake is based on Beauty and the Beast. Even her love of books was shown in volume 1. And her relationship with Adam, plus her leaving home, is paralleled to Belle subjecting herself to the Beast in place of her father. In RWBY, Blake’s Dad stepped down from being white fang leader. This was foreshadowed in Volume 1 with Blake saying she was born for the white fang. The thing about Belle is that she’s a peasant princess. Her dad was trader in the original Grimm story while Disney had him as an inventor. She wasn’t born to nobility. Blake also was portrayed as someone who contrasted Weiss. The two girls frequent arguements stemmed more from just the Faunus viewpoint and from the fact their colors are white and black.... but from Weiss being a hypocritical rich girl and Blake being the more realistic, normal girl who probably had a bad past.

But then you learn Blake is a rich girl too..... who protested with the White Fang not because she herself had been mistreated by humans, but because her family were leaders in the Faunus community and because of Adam. Plus her parents are really nice and Adam is really a douche. Blake is really an introvert who struggles with herself to be open but the more we learn about the Faunus, the more it becomes less about her and more about everything else, making her be more just emo harem queen.

Aura slash basically two characters have shown to be able to use this technique Blake and Qrow

Qrow against Winter and Tyrian

It’s just fighting with Aura period needs to return. Like my earlier pictures of Ren fighting with the snake are a good example. Everyone use to fight with Aura + dust powered weapons.

Now it’s all about a person’s semblance and maiden powers.

Plus the maiden powers don’t seem that special to me. Glynda created a storm and rained down ice crystals in episode 1. Plus she has that awesome telekinesis power. And all that she does from her Aura/semblance.

First of all, we don't know whatever Ghira is wealthy or not big house doesn't mean anything because he has become a chieftain of the island not because of his money but because People have wanted it and Sienna have agreed upon this so they receive a home in the centre of the Village..

Secondly, she never experiences that kind of wealthy life because first 12 years of her life she spends travelling around the world taking part in manifestation with her parents that didn't bring anything good just laugh and racism jokes/violence from Humans..

And when her Father become a chieftain ( once again because people have wanted it ) she have run away from home putting aside wealthy life that she could have to fight for something that she believed was right and the life she only knew at that time <<< Sure it's stupid and rash decision but also something that I can respect because Blake during her childhood show how unfair the world is..

Now the Princess part: Unlike in Weiss case Blake doesn't get anything if Ghira pass out or he can't give away his position for Blake mainly because he was chosen by people, not blood or anything else..

I agree that show rather poorly treats the whole racism theme but for me, there is enough of it to believe that it exists no point of wasting valuable time on it just drop small hints from time to time ( which RT doing )..

And for me, it's enough that we have been told that Blake was a Victim of racism and Violence towards her during her childhood..

But part of me hopes that the rumours about getting full Blake prequel story/manga before team STRQ are valid.

At last, it's my personal headcanon but the IMO the reason why Ghira and Kali love Blake so much is connected because they know how much they screw up her childhood.

This one of my ships too!!! I can’t abandon this ship tho. The dynamics are wonderful.

I was more meaning she basically is now a rich girl due to her dad being a chief of an island even if the island is poor. And really even if the white fang were poor tree huggers, they are still a group and her dad was the head of it. Which is a position of power....

The fact she traveled around, that’s a privilege most people outside of military families and higher class wouldn’t get to do.

But it’s how her character was portrayed at beginning phase as the one who didn’t seem to have anything...

A girl that talked almost as if the white fang gave her a family/something to love for. A real life example gangs recruiting that street kids cuz their parents aren’t there.

Really Emerald’s backstory of stealing on the streets and being adopted by Cinder could almost be switched to how the early story set Blake up- i.e., Blake had a hard childhood, WF gave her a home. Then the leader stepped down and she left when the group became anarchists, doing such radical things that she didn’t agree with their methods.

But then the story comes back with her dad being the previous leader of the white fang back when it was more peaceful, and the new leader making the group more violent check which is a great twist because it deviates from the “bad group” influences child theme.

It’s just when executed it seems as if her dad retired and she more stayed with the WF cuz of Adam.

So basically what I’m trying to say is the early Blake looked like that girl.... the one that’s seen a lot on the world and been on th blunt edge of it...

But then she gets portrayed as more of the “Prodigal child” who left home, made mistakes, got hurt by a guy, and ran home when there was nowhere else to go....

Not sure if that makes sense? It’s frustrating not being able to describe what’s in my head. But it’s more of the execution of her development that I have a problem with.... which makes her like a completely different character. On top of her change in fighting styles....

So I want to see how she is once she’s back with her group and that’s what excites me about vol 6’s potential.

ES wanted me to post my predictions for Volume 6 and 7 (since I want more than one arc devoted to this)

• Since the previous school at Haven was empty, and Beacon is populated with friendly students, Atlas will have your typical military academy with robotic students.... Not real robots .... But like Winter... Stiff and cold..... Ruby, Jaune, Nora, Yang, and Sun don’t fit in with the students but Blake is popular much to her team’s ire. Also they have to wear those sailor military school outfits.

• All the mecha enhanced people get their stories:

1. Mercury: We find out about his legs and why he follows Cinder
2. Watts, Dr. Wiley, Iron, and the Schnee family partnership to build these robots and why. I don’t want Watts and Wiley to be the same character, but would like something more interesting here then Hazel’s backstory
3. Yang and her arm gets upgraded but yang learns about people enhancing themselves too much (real life application)
4. Penny 2.0 or army!Penny
5. Returning Students: Neon, Flynt, Ciel, etc....
6. Also their robot obsession is connected to the Relic of creation The group splits up at the beginning into three groups (a bit like the beginning of season 2)

• Group 1- Relic of Knowlege Group: Yang, Ruby, Oscar, Qrow, Iron (Qrow and Winter leaves though to confront the Schnee family). Ruby also does something more than what she’s been doing. Girl is just there to be a main character. You could take her out and the story wouldn’t change.
• Group 2 - Group Black Ice- Winter, Weiss, Qrow, Blake (Blake because she has the family stuff that could make her relate to Weiss)
• Group 3 - Outcast group - Nora, Jaune, Sun, Ren.... Stumble onto a lab where they bringing people back to life... have to fight to get out. Ren dies and Nora unleashes Valkyrie fury as shippers on tumblr moan they will drop the show. I don’t want Nora to die tho So Group 2 helps them out.
• Adam, Neo, Torchwood, and Mercury teamup (Neo has a voice actress but she hasn’t been used so she should be coming back)
• Cinder isn’t dead, but Emerald transfering her essence a bit like season 3, into a robot of Cinder... The CinderBot Maiden Edition
• Salem, Tyrian, Hazel kind of stay out for a bit but get discussed by Iron and Oz
• Winter sees Weiss can summon now
• I think there should be an episode of sneaking into Atlas passed those closed borders, and they all get captured and taken to Iron.

Theory for Volume 6/7

• Tai and Raven talk about themselves and how Ruby’s mom is the relic at beacon..... That’s why Ozpin said it was hard to find cuz they made the relic into a living thing and why Silver eyes works against Cinder, the spring maiden so well... Because it’s to protect the relic.... which is now Ruby. Cuz girl needs something plot related since she’s just basically there lately
• Does anyone think the fact Jaune’s family will be important since they have been mentioned a couple of times?

• Iron vs Watts (Since Raven fought Cinder and Qrow fought Tyrian)
• Winter and Weiss - Mass Summoning
• Blake vs Neo (@Emperor Spriggan)
• Nora vs Robot army - short circuits them with electricity (Ren dies)

• Mercury and Torchwick vs Weiss, Jaune, and Sun

On one hand a revenge motif for volume 6 is awesome. You would have both sides basically being out for blood.

On the other hand, to pull of they need to seriously up the writing. As in, the level of writing for volume 5 simply will far from cut it. If you have characters out for blood you'd expect them to plan stuff but also make mistakes along the way, you expect chaos.... but come on, we already had that in volume 5 and they weren't even out for blood. Remember the huge mistake cinder made when she decided to go get the relic? She realized ozpin was there, had her enemies cornered and immediately went on to leave them be and do something else. Contrary to the only thing that should have been an alternative: Easily foderizing the entirety of her enemies via nuking them out of existence.

If the bad guys were THAT incompetent when presumably calmed and collected, imagine them when they are in full rampage mode. In that state they will probably look at a door and simply remain unable to comprehend what it's for. They will look at walls, walk into them, hurt themselves and simply be unable to comprehend what just went on.

One thing I am looking forward to at atlas though is penny. TBH I found it weird she died. Wasn't she just broken? But more importantly, I expect her to have been mass produced by the time the gang reaches atlas. And seeing ruby's reaction to seeing dozens and dozens of pennys.

You know what I want in volume 6? Tai vs Tyrion. I don't even care if tai dies, I just want to see the fight. Then again, I would expect tai to be about as good a huntsman as qrow and raven so I don't think he would necessarily die.

@Vici I couldn't agree more. Blake's parents are the most normal and loving.
I mean, Ruby has no mother, Yang was abandoned by hers and Weiss has a shitty father and brother. So yeah, I don't think Blake's childhood was that bad.
And we definitely need more Blake/Ruby interactions.

Yes, I know Blake's childhood wasn't sunshine and rainbows but she had loving parents and friends. Yes, she was descriminated against but she lived in a place for faunus and was safe there. Fighting for your rights is undoubtedly hard but it's a proud experience. The other girls experiences were more traumatic imo.
And don't even get me started with Nora and Ren.
