But then Silver eyes would affect Qrow ( Bird thing ) and Raven ( Bird thing and Maiden ) but it doesn't
I don't think they have been in a situation where they should have been affected by them but weren't though.

Ruby using SE in chapter 11 of this Volume both Qrow and Raven are standing like 5 ( or so ) meters away from her

But in that case the maidens being vulnerable to silver eyes does not make sense. I would think the main issue there is that the silver eyes simply didn't target at least raven and if my theory is correct also qrow.

In regards to the Silver Eyes issue, I like to think that it and the Maidens' magic are somehow connected with one another. The Maidens holding a significant power of the seasons while the Silver Eyes are for the creatures of Grimm and both are very destructive in every way.

I know someone from the fandom made this theory before with a lot of information about it but I forgot who is it from specifically :hmm

Silver Eyes might only work on Cinder’s maiden powers + Grim because it had to do with the relic at Beacon. And the maiden powers are connected to their specific relic. When asked about where the relic at Beacon was, Ozpin said it’s hard to find.

It would be hard to find if it was a person and not an item.

Silver eyes just seems to be connected to the silver slippers (they were ruby color only in the movie :derp) of the original Wizard of Oz story. Also the way Dorothy got the “silver shoes with pointed toes,” was because the previous witch that had them died.

It also fits with the wizard of Oz’s gifts. Brains, heart, courage, and Dorothy didn’t need a gift becaue she had the slippers.

Relics:
Lamp of Knowledge = Brains
Relic of Choice = Courage
Relics of Creation = Heart
Relic of Destruction = silver slippers (it was the slippers that all the bad witches were after and lead to their deaths in WoO).

Akame ga kill rwby? Not buying that.

As for neptune's semblance... I don't think we have any reason to think he doesn't know his semblance. He'd be in the same boat as Jaune. Given how semblances have been treated so far I would argue the norm for people who attend a kingdom's main schools is to already know their semblances. We simply haven't been shown what they are. Otherwise jaune's situation with his semblance would end up being.... common.

But then why wouldn't he use it in the tournament? There was no reason to hold back when he wanted his team to proceed to the next round.

Finally here to comment on RWBY, @Emperor Spriggan. <_>

Came here to post a crackpot theory and some comments about the volumes. First the volumes: 3 and 5 are my favorites so far, while 4 volume had many problems, I still think it was a good transitional story telling for Yang at least. And third volume... :emocat Raven and yang had a good development on volume 5, Ruby became kinda s ide character aside the silver-eyes, though. And I hope Cinder comes back in volume 6.

As for the crackpot theory, here it goes: The first human created by the gods of darkness and light was Ozpin, that would explain why he is so special. Granted a great powers, he was somewhat an example for humanity, but Ozpin donated parted of his powers to the maidens, which probably angered the gods (since the powers were meant to be a gift for him only). The maidens were originally 4, until now only 2 were show, the summer maiden will probably feature on volume 6, but I believe Salem is the original winter maiden.

My theory for Salem is that as the first winter maiden (and the most shy/reserved one as described n that tale), she got enchanted by the powers she received and wanted more, leading her to try experimenting with Grimm and eventually corrupting her true self as well as gifting her with immortality like those old mammoth-like grimm. After this, the gods were probably infuriated with her doings and sent ozpin to stop her, but unable to do so, Ozpin failed and the gods, angered with him, granted him a "curse"that allows him to reincarnate when he dies, so even if he died, He'd still come back to try and stop Salem for real the next time.

Not all semblances are useful in combat or in every situation though. Take nora for instance, her semblance is only useful in the very specific scenario of someone using electricity against her. Without preparation nora's semblance would be literally worthless 99% of the time. During the tournament fight neptune didn't even approach and enemy, he stayed and the margins while avoiding the water. I would argue he didn't use his semblance because his situation in the tournament didn't call for it.

The creators have gone out of their way to make the point that the winter maiden is 100% not salem though. They'd have to retcon what they have said on the matter for this to even be a possibility....

:wtf:wtf:wtf
Finally here :zomg I was wondering when you'd post this theory, and it's marvellous, good work :super
I like the idea of Ozpin being created by the gods of darkness and passing on the powers to the Maidens. Because that way it also explains why the Maidens are needed to obtain all the Relics. Originally I thought that the connection was a bit weird and misplaced, but it would make more sense if the person connecting the two plot points was the Oz himself :smugbunny
Also, him being the first human=Adam, like the Biblical story.
@kkck I still maintain Qrow is Ruby's father even if the writers said otherwise :heh Don't be so quick to discount Salem being the original Winter Maiden :pls
I have receipts aside from what Pom just said:grumble:

How about this then... We know the gang will head to atlas, presumably to store the lantern there. If salem is the spring maiden, how would that be anything short of moronic? They would have to have the means open the vault and store things there. I guess there could plausibly be some chikanery which would allow salem to stop being a maiden but that would be weird.... But it is just a really weird scenario on top of the creators going out of the way to salem is not the original winter maiden.
