Finally I had the time and motivation to watch episode 4.

I honestly didn't like the part in the beginning with Ozpin. First and foremost, every single character - forcibly - acted rather silly because no one came to realization that the Jin's answer to Ozpin's question should be taken with a huge grain of salt. None of the characters should be stupid enough to not notice that the Q/A between the Jin and Oz left a huge room for interpretation. The result we get is this poorly executed drama. How would have team RWBY and co. reacted if Oz went all like "it's no use to fight the evil, because she can't be defeated" since the beginning? Right, they would have all reacted in a similar fashion, pointing the finger at Ozpin and telling him that he shouldn't be a coward and give up so easily and that they will find a way to defeat Salem anyway, regardless of what a f* Jin said, basically your standard shounen speech.

On the other hand, the part with Salem was quite thrilling. Good to see that there is also a limit to Salem's thread of patience, it appears that she won't brush off continuous failures lightly.

Ok, saw the episode.

OUR GODDESS IS BACK! Honestly, seeing neo was the episode's only good point. The fight was nicely choreographed as well. more competently than other stuff. Not as good as neo's earlier fights but the air's of competence are refreshing. Gonna revise my opinion on that later once the neo hype dies.

That said, I have no idea of what that other woman's endgame is. I thought she'd try to attack cinder or something. Maybe later? On one hand it makes sense but on the other it sounds like a waste of minutes.

as for the town... Its nice to see everyone is dead. I figured they would just go for a more generic "everyone vanished" sort of deal. they all should be terrified of going to sleep at least. Even if someone keeps watch, what stops them from just dying in their sleep?

As for yang and blake.... TEASE... come on, get the needless tension between them over with. I don't care about bumblebee or their forced tension, just get it over with and move on with the plot.

And finally weiss is asking the right questions. Not to the lamp yet but we might get there.

So a grim... in the cellar... inside the cellar? sure, why the hell not? I am curious about what happened in the town, specifically because whatever did this is apparently trapped in the cellar. So... how did that happen? Was it trapped there after killing everyone? Or before and it killed everyone in spite of being trapped? Anyways, this is interesting but since this is roosterteeth *sight* here are the particularly shitty scenarios I can imagine:

The most obvious guess is that this thing killed everyone in their sleep. The freedy krueger of grim. Nightmares should be grimm food as well considering the negative emotions involved. And this isn't bad per say but it feels like they just gave it away too easily. The next thing to follow up this bad development would be the old lady, whatever her name was, being the sole reason they survive. So far she doesn't seem to be relevant to the plot so....

Another thing, the episode felt too short. This volumes are not long so having two episodes with little development is just a disappointment. It feels like we are going to be watching this random ass town for at least 2 more episodes.

Oh boy, that was an awesome taijutsu fight between Neo and Cinder, and the way Neo utilized her umbrella was just gorgeous. But yeah... at the end of the day it's still best to not mess with a Maiden like Cinder. Looking forward to how those two will affect the plot in the upcoming episodes.

The pace is quite slow, especially if you consider that the last two episodes didn't even hit 15 minutes. I hope the town plot doesn't turn out as something like "grimm-of-the-week" episodes , but rather adds value to the overall story. Also, I'm not sure why Yang acted the way she did after Blake told that she will protect her. Can anyone clarify, I don't see what the hell Blake did wrong there? In any case, we are past the fifth episode now, whatever discomfort there is between Yang and Blake needs to be... or should have been wrapped up by now. Maybe it's also one of the effects of what is going around the town?

Okay saw this episode now.

The fight between Neo and Cinder was nicely done,after how many days do we see her?I had even forgotten that she existed.

I knew she wouldn't stand a chance against Cinder but seeing her actually use her powers against Neo was pretty awesome.

And then the cliche stranded in an isloisol place horror trope.I hope this is just isn't a simple Grimm's incident but bigger than that.

Also Yang's attitude is unnecessary at this point.I thought everything got cleared up but not it seems.

A d the bodies in the beds, maybe something in the air did it?


Also the pacing is very slow,may we will later get a longer episode,at this point they will take the entire season to reach Atlas.

I was listening to salem's monologue back in volume 1... With the new information it actually makes sense, this volume gave us the context to understand it properly. The bit that caught my attention specifically is the part about men being born from dust and being remnants. At the time we were told man was born from dust... And this actually plays into what we saw in ozpin's flashback. Humanity was obliterated by the god of dark and then the god of light said humanity would return in time... It makes sense that humanity came from dust this time around.

But... what is dust? That's the bit that remains mysterious.... And I have a crackpot theory for it. Dust is the remnants of the original human population. They were destroyed but remained as dust. Not alive though. Perhaps dust is humanity's magic specifically, left behind in crystallized form. and dusts main function is... a timer. Before I wondered why even bother having the gods return. They are an existential threat to humanity and they are clearly better off simply not risking their return. But... if humanity came from dust, what happens when it runs out, being presumably a limited resource created from the collective magic of humanity? Well, simple, humanity ends. so humanity can simply never summon the gods and inevitably face its end or... humanity must summon them to have a chance of survival at least.

So... what do you think are the silver eyes? Descendants from ozpin's previous lives? Does that mean silver eyes are basically magic users? Its probably less than what the maidens can do but it would make sense for ozpins descendants to have some capacity for magic.
