Scanning Scanning guides?

are there any scanning guides that use a specific program for the scanning ? by that i mean, is there one that i can use to make the scanning process easier by having default options and stuff. I have my HP all in one printer's program but i sucks so i was wondering if there was a program. If not, what process do other scanners use?

ummm scanning with the windows integrated twain-acquirer while using irfanview for batchscanning...

that's what i use at least....

Agreed. IrvanView is a nice (and free) graphic viewer, that is also very helpful as a scanning tool
