Scary noises

I've got a sticky point in History's Strongest Disciple, Kenichi, chapter 80. Here's the relevant panel:

Honoka makes a scary face
白浜ほのか　ちみ、戦ってるとき………
白浜ほのか（手書き）　しゃげ～
白浜ほのか　こーんな顔してるじょ
Honoka: When you were fighting...
Honoka (handwritten): Boo
Honoka: You had this kind of face!!

The しゃげー is the problem. Here's what my checker says:

漫画で流行った 「しゃげ～」は、「しゅびびびびび」「ずももももー」 「みぎゃー」などの 奇声の擬音の１つ。（かっこういいけど、こわい）

英語でどう表現したらいいかわかりませんが、
Booよりインパクトの強い言葉がいいような気がします。

Can anyone suggest something with a bit more impact than "boo" for Honoka to say?

If it's said in jest, I think "boo" is okay. For more impact, I guess you're thinking of more like a monster noise, rather than a ghost noise? Maybe something like, "RAWRL!!" or "GROWL!!" Just make up something that sounds like a growling sound. If you put it in caps and bold, the effect can be enhanced. Heehee.

How about "HUURGH!" "GRAAAAH!" or "DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN"?

Of course, having your scanner put the word in a large, wavy, creepy-looking font will have more impact than changing the word itself.
