Whoa, talk about misunderstandings! What on earth did you guys think I was going to say other than something along the lines of "Ganbatte kudasai, Isayama-sensei" and a few more specific supports to addressed directly to the mangaka (and not anyone else)??? I appreciate the concern but I think most people know better than to try something like taking on madmen making death threats so I'm kind of surprised people would think I would. :cookiestare

It's best if you pm it to Isayama though regarding support against the threats. Don't post it in the comments section or the ones, who posted those threats, will see it. They'd be adding more to Isayama's blog because their own comments were recognized by other people. Trolls do feed on those kind of stuff. It's a good thing Isayama himself didn't spoke against these threat comments. It would worsen.

Wait, did people actually think here that you would write threats as well? Huh...I never thought of it that way though. I'm sorry if I offended you T^T. If you're going to post words of encouragement to Isayama-sama in his blog comments section, please do so. But totally ignore those threats. Treat it as though you've never seen it. Don't write anything about it in your words of encouragement. Seriously.:^_^

Sorry if I sounded like picking on you, didn't intend to and was more like some general info for everyone whatever their intention ><;

On another note, I agree with Yumpo in regards to supportive messages in direct relation to the matter. I was thinking if anything, it should simply be a message of admiration just like you would write on any other day.......... was also what I meant in my previous post.

OK, that's cool. I was just kind of surprised there. Writing a PM is a good idea...

I just wanted to say *here* only (*not* over there, lol) that although I could see how one might read into Isayama's story an allegory about remilitarization (because I totally saw it myself at the beginning of the story), this story gets so much more complicated as it goes on and it isn't right to judge it by what you see in the beginning only. As someone who knows some things about story writing it was clear to me that even if this allegory was intentional, that "remiltarization" wasn't necessarily going to be presented in a good light, just like Eren's early obsession with revenge (which imo is slowly fading as his character develops). It seems more and more likely with recent chapters that the humans within the walls are doing/have done something so awful it could cause the world to end. That doesn't fit the allegory at all if it's just about reigniting the fires of an Imperialistic Japan.

And even still if it turns out for whatever reason it really is a pro-militarization of Japan story, he still has a right to tell it. Let them respond to it in their art rather than trying to fight art with violence.

Having finally watched Ep 13, I have comments to add about the suggestion "Annie joined Reiner after training."

Obviously, I can't consider the Anime completely canon, but some production decisions do provide insights (more like ideas) to confusing original scenes back in the manga. Notably Annie's bewildered face when she was saying sorry to corpses. After hearing the Anime interpretation on her tone of voice, I have a hunch she killed "humans" for the first time. And I suspect after that, Reiner's reasoning (whatever it is) somehow works into her and making her team up with them.

And yes, I think Annie and Reiner do hate each other back at the training camp, and Reiner saying he was "glad" she was alright after saving Connie could be an attempt to get on her good side.

I'm more and more in love with Annie lol, even though they're only speculations, but she seems like the kinda character I personally like.

In terms of SnK, anyone with at least half a brain and not so worked up with the racial feud will definitely agree with you, because I do too. But the stupid thing is that the Japanese and Korean (I don't mean them in the generalised way) have been at it for eons, or the Chinese/Japanese, so much so they nitpick the slightest of things to comment on. The Korean media pick on the Japanese, and the Japanese media pick on the Chinese (and vice versa.) I'm beyond tired of this but it is unfortunately a mindset conditioned into society. I, and no doubt you too, will probably have an idealistic solution to the issue, but as with all ideals, there are far too many who won't give up their pride for peace, and hence it will not work out any time soon. And in fact, as long as the current politics live on (in one form or another,) nothing is gonna get better. I'm not familiar with Korea, but the Japan and China as I know will never give in lol.

Going back to SnK, I just find it really silly some of the Koreans have picked up on a totally random point and started criticising. But truth be told, this is not the first time, and definitely won't be the last, and it doesn't just happen in Korea either :/ The world we live in lol.

Oh I'm familiar with the history of it to an extent. I got to hear all about it while I lived in Japan. I also had Korean friends here in Canada before that and one insisted he couldn't forgive Japan (I didn't ask btw-- he brought it up himself every time). I also have travelled a bit of Southeast Asia where in some countries the attitude toward Japan is hardly positive exactly, thanks to various historical issues. I'm quite aware of these being conditioned into societies on both sides. Even stories like Naruto are based around the idea of defeating the urge for revenge and seeking to engage your enemies diplomatically, because these problems seep into the societal psyche. That's Kishimoto though. I don't have any "idealistic solutions." Not sure where I gave that impression? I've never claimed to have answers to such issues. Please don't read more into my comments than what I've said.

Weird... I thought that SnK is rather against nationalism. With the religious and ruling castes collaborating to keep from disseminating the truth, the titans having different factions, the mystery behind Eren's daddy, etc. - I would think this is an attack on stereotypical shounen propaganda and opaque governments. War is not solved by getting powerful after friendship speeches. Those who sacrifice themselves in haste would have second thoughts. People die right, left and sideways. The only protected characters are Eren, Armin and Mikasa - and that might even change.

I despise the Japanese government for perpetuated injustices. But Isayama is not the Japanese government, so it's crazy to attack him for actions of the government. It would be like attacking JK Rowling on the grounds of perpetuating witchcraft on behalf of Britain.

When you mean she killed "humans" for the first time, do you mean the one she sees as kind "humans"? The manga seemed to have implied that she's already killed a lot of Survey Corp soldiers before Eren's first expedition outside Wall Rose. Armin also speculated that she was the one who brought those titans to Wall Maria(during it's destruction?). Then again, this is the anime we're talking about XDDD.

Sorry, what I meant by "idealist solutions" didn't mean to sound as awesome as it sounds lol, wrong choice of words on my part, but it could be simply "hey people, learn from Naruto!" because those ninjas are apparently doing 10 times better in dropping their selfish pride and bonding with one another. But anyways I'll leave it as that.

Oh damn :P that could make sense (but just one question, where did Armin speculate that?) And where are the sources for the implications you talked about? (although it's my fault for missing out a lot when I read lol) you're making me really curious! XD And then, there's that Annie comes from the same area as R&B according to Hanji (in Eren's latest flashback...) So I'll take back some of what I said.

P.S. Was just checking Isayama's blog, seems like he's finished the next chapter! :P and apparently he likes it a lot himself. Can't wait, right!?

Armin's speculation: chapter 23 page 15.
Well, about Annie's implication, that she had killed Survey Corp Soldiers before, I was judging it on the way Levi talked to her in Chapter 27 page 25. It's as if he has encountered her before. He said that there were "repeated attempts" on trying to drag her out too. Also, the capture plan looks suspiciously almost perfect to get the female titan(This is just probably me though). Those 'who were let on in the plan' also didn't seem a bit surprise at all when they saw her.

At least one more week for the next chapter....:faint It's taking too long.....

We should create an Annie thread, the hangout is all about her and I like it :XD . Maybe she has not killed soldiers before but soldiers are dead by her fault, still, I think she did horrendous things in order to stay alive. It remembers me the scene where she chosen to join the Police Force because she wanted to stay alive, the main difference beetwen her and R&B is probably that she is too kind to kill guys as easily as them. And what about her father? What kind of guy do you think he was?

Maybe Grisha is not one but with Annie and Historia is start to think that fathers are jerk in SnK.

@Yumpo
Thanks, damn can't believe I forgot about that XD
At first I thought he was talking about what was happening just now when she was kicking people around, but what you say here makes complete sense!

@Demonspeed
Yeah I'm pretty much in for a thread for Annie haha. She's definitely not an unpopular character. I saw a girl that looked just like her on the train yesterday, I so very nearly went up to her to say things that could possibly be considered sexual harassment lol (...joke, but you know what I mean :P "Could you cosplay THIS character for me?" hahahaha)

I always feel as if Grisha and Annie's father are related to each other. There's one major reason for this that I will explain later. But that aside (since it's more or less evidence-less,) I think Grisha could actually not be a completely innocent guy from the beginning. He could have changed his stance after the death of his wife, who knows? Or maybe he was onto something, but kept a secret about it until his wife died, THEN decided to take action finally, and he regrets not taking action sooner?

On the other hand, I'm very interested with Annie's flashback about her father. Basically this is the flow of his dialogue:
1) Says sorry to Annie, saying he's wrong
2) Too late for forgiveness
3) Just one final wish
The wish:
a) Asks Annie to antagonise the world
b) He will forever support Annie
c) He wants Annie to return to him

My speculations for now:
2) Too late to ask for forgiveness - meaning there's no way back, something is done. The consequence isn't something 'forgiveness' can solve?
3) Regardless of how Annie sees him, he makes it known to Annie he's trying to make up for everything else by hoping the best for Annie.

1) He says sorry to Annie because he did something to somebody else? to Annie? because he involved Annie in something very dangerous? Personally I think it is the latter, meaning he puts Annie in some sort of situation because he believes in something at first, then realises that 'something' is wrong. This desperate-to-change-something attitude, leaving important tasks to his children, isn't unprecedented. Grisha seems to have the exactly same attitude as him. "Something they used to believe in is wrong. Now they want to bring about a change but couldn't do it themselves." Now Annie can't get out of this situation, and therefore he is 2) too late to ask for forgiveness.

To help Annie, he gives his 3) final wish, he wants a) Annie to antagonise the world. If we assume this is something he's doing for Annie, then I can sort of assume this will either make Annie's mission easier, and/or persuading Annie to stand by the truth that even he cannot see before. If he c) wants Annie to go back to him, then it is probable he prioritises making life easier for Annie. He wants Annie to know that b) she is not alone in this harsh world. And, if Annie is meant to go back, then what Annie's doing now could be only a 'mission' that can be finished and not a 'life goal' thing.

Exactly. I don't disagree with you on the above.

That's not me, that's Kishimoto. I brought Naruto up because you mentioned "idealistic" solutions. :XD

I think I wasn't clear why I brought it up though, so I apologize for that. My point was that I didn't advocate any solution at all, and referencing Naruto was supposed to be a sort of joke. (It's oversimplified and idealistic, what you see in that series.) I wasn't saying "Hey people learn from Naruto" at all. Real diplomacy isn't fast or easy (although to be fair I do think Kishimoto simplified it for the sake of his audience and not because he thinks things actually work that easily). It takes generations before you even start to notice a difference. But there are few examples of real diplomacy in the world today. For the most part, our corrupt governments just do favours for powerful banks and business leaders, even when it doesn't benefit (or even harms) their own country's people.

I liked this idea at first but I'm not sure there's really that much to say about Annie from now on. I'll definitely check it out tho. :)

I can't help thinking Annie's father was in the religious cult, personally. Like that guy who knew about Historia, something changed his mind. Just my opinion.

Just an off-topic, do you guys think Reiner, Bertolt and Annie ever get sick? You know, as in getting fevers or some kind. If they don't, due to their titan regenerative powers, that's just...unfair. XDDDD

I didn't consider fever kind of sickness, but I did think about what would happen if their wounds get infected. They probably won't =___= and even if they somehow do, they could just chip away that meat and let it regen again XD

I think fever works in a different fashion. Having getting invaded by virus, their body works to repel that foreign matter or whatever, but regeneration doesn't really play a role here. On the other hand, depending on how regeneration works, I wonder if it would actually prevent them from getting a temperature, because if they don't, their body will be in for a lot of trouble XD It seems to me as if the regeneration algorithm would 'remember' what their body part looks immediately before getting damaged...... which means cancer stays =___________= Short term advantages yes, can't say for sure long term... New Titan qualities have yet to be introduced, so we shall wait and see!

Alcohol probably still works on them too. So does coffee lol.

Then again, this is probably too deep beyond Isayama's setting :P

I'm not too particular in the medical field XD. That's why I categorize fever under sickness. XDDD

Well, speaking of alcohol....I wonder if Annie was actually drunk when she was in her titan form during the expedition? Because I was quite curious seeing in her room one or actually two bottles(wait, there's actually three) that look like it suppose to contain wine, first page of Chapter 31...Nah. That's way too out of place XDDD. That's probably Hitch's. I doubt Annie drinks....does she? XD (This was actually the first thing I noticed when I first read this chapter, and thought, was Annie drinking? And then I saw her roomate...and Hange mentioned that Annie was in bed for quite a while too...)

I don't know, but IF Annie is still alive it will mean that titan regen/healing powers saved her from the need to eat/breathe/eliminate. o_O;

Interesting. But yeah we haven't specifically seen her drinking. If that scene with Eren was canon (I think it was but now I can't recall), we saw him try but spit it out, heh. Did we see Reiner or anyone else drink from that wine bottle before it was used to "disinfect" him (if that was even necessary, lol)?

(By the way when does the raw chapter usually come out for SnK?)

The raw chapters usually comes around the 10th. But last month, it came a little bit too early.

Nah. Eren spitting out the drink was an anime only scene. Nothing in the manga. Wait, Krista used wine from that "wine bottle" to "disinfect" Reiner's wounds? How come I didn't noticed that? XDDDD Poor Gerga...I thought it was already empty before he tried to drink it. But nobody did drink from it though before it was used.

Well, the Attack on Titan minigame got updated again. Just when I managed to kill all the titans in the last version, now it's pretty much imposible to do it, with the new insta-kill that all titans have and the new deviant type.
