Okay so I found this : Sort of a Chibi-Jean dress up game

And yeah, there is a clear lack of Hitch in the characters, I wanted to do a Jitch thing, and well, it's not possible, yet, and yup, you cannot remove Jean, but well, who cares ?

It's still possible to do some pretty damn funny ones.

So you think that Isayama originally intended for them to just lose at that point? We are still 7 volumes away from where it's meant to end. Why would they just wait for humanity's downfall.

I have no idea whatsoever about what he intended. I'm not saying they were supposed to lose here, nor that humans vs humans wouldn't happen. It just seems like around this point is where he started to change things from the original ending he envisioned.

The author's original ending does not make it any better at all, the better one is (more likely to be) the one he decides to go with.

That's the thing, he didn't decide to go with the one he wanted, but the one he thought would go along better with the fans. That never ends up well.
Imagine if George RR Martin did the same...Game of Thrones would never be the same..

Had to google who Kubo(Bleach) was, and just realized something.. He isn't changing the story for the fans, he's just doing it for himself. He created a hugely popular manga, got his cash flow going, and he doesn't want to stop. Just like Bleach, just like One Piece.

Yeah people like how gruesome it can be at times, but killing everyone for the sake of it is just cheap (see, The Mist).

Well, firstly, Mist was freaking awesome to me, end included. Didn't seem cheap at all. Nor do I believe it would seem cheap in SnK had he gone that way as long as he would tie all the loose ends (like "to you in 2000 years", dreams and stuff)

I really don't see it. It feels like a new tone/story direction which has happened in every arc. Them fighting the government was inevitable from the start. The only difference being that that interview came out now. I can't see how it relates to the ending at all.

I know it happened with the Harry Potter series. He hasn't said he even is changing the ending, or by how much. Just that he is unsure about whether to go with what he originally was going to (which is fine considering the ending is a few years away and it means he is working on that now). He didn't say anything about the story changing, all I got from it was that not everyone was going to die at the end (plenty probably will, knowing him). By relating it to The Mist I got the impression that there would have been something sudden at the end (probably not Eren killing his comrades to spare them being eaten but you get what i mean), the story up to that point would probably have been the same. These latest chapters have been just as cold-hearted (and worse) than before. GRR Martin almost certainly considers what fans like when writing a book, so would any author. That doesn't mean he always does what they want.

Doing it for himself, by means of doing what the fans want and then making lots of $ from it. Bleach is full of fanservice in most forms it comes in (including plot shields for popular characters). People seem to be making out that Isayama is turning SnK into one of those series that will be dragged on for ages and full of fanservice.

Really? The ending felt like they tried way to hard to be bold about it. "lets have them die, for the lulz" was the feeling I got. And I can't see how the 2000 years business would be cleared up by anything other than the actual explanation (I hope) we get at some point.

Is there a reason why Berthold didn't transform into the huge 60m colossal titan ( I know he had to carry Eren and was cut by Erwin) after they lost Eren and to help Reiner defeat the titans Eren send on them?

He probably did and it happened off screen but Reiner and Ymir really looked overwhelmed when that scene ended.

No one knows. There's an interesting theory his titan isn't stable enough to stand on its own two feet (without a wall nearby to brace him) though...

This is my first time following a monthly series. I kind of just crammed ~50 chapters in a day and a half and waiting for chapter 54 for a whole month was so hard, but it was a nice surprise that it was released so early this month. I was really surprised!
I was wondering though, how do you guys deal with a monthly series? I just reread the chapters a lot and notice strange things like Annie, Bertold, and Reiner sticking together a lot, and saying vague things. It makes me wonder what things we see now that will appear as obvious hints later.
