I would love if it were so, but it's hard to be sure. I think they showed a shortened version of Eren getting pointers from Annie in the anime already, and they're just repeatedly peppering bits of that in with this trailer. This "movie" is simply a recap of eps 14-25, after all.

I think it is, but it looks like there is some new scenes, no?
My idea was that it would be shown by diferent point of view, maybe from Erwin pov.

To me the panels look exactly the same... i dont know why they'd show them if they aren't going to animate the scene.
Anyway, it bothers me how they are taking too much freedom in modifying the story just for morbid fan service.

Again, I'd love if they put all/more of Annie's scenes back in. I'm just not holding my breath since it's hard to tell either way. That moment with Annie's and Mikasa's eyes interposed is too context-less to tell what it's supposed to refer to. :/

Here's a little bit more context... this is also from chapter 44. Other parts of the sequence are also in the manga panels, but im too lazy too photoshop them all lol

Maybe my memory's off, but I was pretty sure that part was in the anime already. It's the part in the manga starting from where she insists on training him further (after he and Jean were fighting) that got cut out. That's also when Annie's flashback of her father took place. Originally, giving tips to Eren was what reminded her of her father training her.

Looking at those pictures, I feel they are going overboard with Mikasa's character. What sucks to see is why on earth was Reiner this weak all along??
Yes the other characters were made semi-worthwile in battle the last 2 arcs, but Jean was the only character who I could give actual consideration there. I get it that the Ackerman are stronger than regular people, but in all reality, it pains me to see Mikasa overshadowing all others, bar Levi when it comes to combat.
She is by far the best female character of any Anime I have come across though, and I can only hope Isayama stops this overshadowing in the future arcs. Probably make Eren worthwile as well. I was watching this Ova the other day, it was the one featuring Sasha and Jean's cooking contest, and Eren goddamn cannot lift a box that Mikasa lifts 3 of, stacked upon one another.
You guys can probably understand where my rant comes from.

Probably make Reiner worthwhile this arc as well. Hell, I'd like to see him twice as strong as he is now! Of all the people in the 104th squad, he was the first guy who I had a feeling was someone experienced, and what with the 'soldiers gotta be prepared for anything' attitude , was actually gonna accomplish something. I never got to see this guy accomplish anything in fact and doubt he is going to be any more capable in the upcoming chapters.

I agree the box lifting thing is a bit much, but that was only an attempt at comedy, I think. It goes along with the continued role reversal of Mikasa chopping wood and Eren staying in the cabin to clean a while back. That kind of humour was a bit of a fail to me in the OVA-- in the manga it was done much more tastefully, at least imo. (Even Armin and Historia should be able to lift heavy boxes and I expect Eren to be stronger than both of them.)

All the same, I wouldn't say the other soldiers haven't distinguished themselves. In the Phantom Wall Breach and Utgard arcs, and then again in the SC vs. MP arc, we see almost everyone from the top 10 of the 104th establish their competence. Sasha and Reiner in particular both distinguished themselves without the aid of 3dmg. Everyone on the newly reformed squad Levi followed after Armin and toughened up enough to fight other people. After that, everyone in Levi squad (including Sasha again with her bow and arrow) got a chance to show their skills. Eren's first titan kill didn't come until Utgard, but he did it quite competently. He also didn't hesitate to take the opportunity to attack the colossal titan toward the beginning of the story, but there was nothing he could do about Bert disappearing. He's clearly quite competent, as is everybody else that made the top 10 (plus Ymir and Armin). These are the sorts of things that allow Jean to talk to Marlow about how they're "veterans" now.

So I think the others have done very well for the most part-- it's just that Levi and Mikasa are just on a whole other level (with Levi easily exceeding Mikasa due to having additional life experience). Yet Mikasa has still been given room to learn and grow from mistakes she's made in combat. Ackermans are supposed to have strong judgment, but it seems she hasn't quite perfected hers yet. Remember when Levi was injured because of her? Remember when she got herself injured in a dangerous place by rushing after Eren and Jean had to save her? She's got her flaws like everybody else. I think she was overconfident in her skill and didn't think the situation through completely. Now that she's been humbled a couple of times, I hope we'll see her learn from those mistakes. (She certainly showed signs of learning from the incident with Levi and even grew to respect him more and more, bit by bit since then.)

I think she's an amazing character though my frustration stems from her being downright better than most of the SL officials themselves. I agree with what you say though. That box lifting scene was what had really thrown me off track and the fact Mikasa had been training both, at the end of the OVA and also right on recovering from broken ribs in the manga always makes me question to whether she is the only person who pushes herself into training. This question is gonna remain in my head until the end of the series as Sasha and Connie downright admit sitting around all day long as they had nothing to do, only for Reiner to mention the fact that they were restrained from training which gives me the impression that maybe Reiner trains, but people like Sasha and Connie merely slack about regardless. Though I don't find it hard seeing their characters as that lol.
As for Eren, I hope he goes about this arc without having to have the others rescue him, or breaks through with his own power for once. Though his kidnapping in the last arc wasn't really his fault but Levi's plan having been seen through.
Besides that, I also feel like dropping AoT altogether for a couple of years until a few chapters are released. The one month of wait really has my excitement wear off by the time the next chapter comes out. Let's see if I can stick to this plan though .

Don't worry, I knew you weren't criticizing Mikasa herself, but the power difference. I just happen to think that as long as we're talking about her vs. the rest of the 104th, it's justified. As for her skill vs. the skill of military officials (whom I consider to be rusty, lbr) or more experienced soldiers who came before the 104th, has she really shown she's more skilled against *titans* than Nanaba, Gerger, or Mike Zakarius? Does she even come close to the level of talent we saw from the original team Levi? I actually considered her at the same level as Nanaba/Gerger (vs. titans specifically) from the start due to Ackerman hax, but at a lower level than Mike. Meanwhile everybody else from the 104th (that survived Trost) had to learn from scratch. Sasha and Connie started off cowering in a corner in that one scene in Trost after failing to kill their assigned titans according to plan. Annie and Mikasa saved their lives, with an equivalent level of skill between them. RBA were very close, if not just as good as her.

It's saddening though how no one cares about Mike. He seemed to start off as somewhat creepy what with the sniffing expressions and such, but I was reading his wikia the other day and it came off to me how amazing a character it could have been. It's a pity he didn't get much screentime and that we won't be seeing more of him anymore.

This convinces me. You guys on the forum seem to view things from an angle much better than those on the outside, that makes it worthwhile to be here.

yeah, somehow I was very interested in his character too.
I really wish we could have seen more of him in action, being that he was considered the 2nd stronger SL member.

Well the fans definitely care, and I found him interesting. I didn't expect his death at all and was heartbroken by it, a lot like what happened (for me anyway) with Marco. I wish he was given a mention again after his death by now, but I'm sure he'll come up again eventually. When the anime continues, we'll get to see him some more too. I wouldn't be surprised if they give him some extra filler or even a part in an OVA later.

Yeah, an OVA considering him would be great. Though AoT isn't really an Anime that dwells for long on past deaths and continues to progress regardless. This adds to the overall feeling of tension and I like it this way in all reality. Having him in an OVA over a long drawn flashback probably will be the best thing imo.

The death of Levi's comrades played on how dangerous it was for the survey corps. During the time they played the game as treating every Titan like a Titan, by the time they realized something was wrong it was to late, they never considered the thought of fighting a Titan with intelligence and because they were in a way doing things by the books, their tactics didn't work for potentially two reason, one was because they were against something that was intelligent and two the person they were up against was aware of the tactics used against titans so they could better anticipate and ready their defenses aka covering the back of neck.

While it's a shame his comrades died, the narrative of the story plays well as to why they in a sense just become "forgotten" it's because there isn't much time to focus on the dead, it's better to focus on the living. If Levi were to talk about it, or stories were to be told on them, it would make no sense from a story-telling perspective because it isn't moving the narrative forward. A flashback like Eren learning more about his Father makes sense because it moves the narrative forward, explains how he appeared from outside the wall and also express how Eren was taken with him and then of course injected with the serum that would cause him to eat his own father.

As nice as Levi's comrades were there is no place in the manga to put it within the narrative unless the story reaches a point where Levi reflects on his old comrades that relates to a situation going on in present time. Just the way stories are at times, there are characters that aren't always lucky, they may have a good backstory or decent people but in life you never know when your time is up so you always gotta do your best to live every moment.

^seen it already, and I can't help but agree with what some are saying; the mechanics (so far) look really repetitive, and the 3dmg should work way faster, I mean they stay in the air over the Titans for very long periods of time before going in for the slash.

Yeah, if you judge for this video only, but I'm really expecting it to have a storie mode.
And some elements of survival, like limiting your blades and gas.
I think it'll turn out nice :D
