A sequel for Marmalade Boy has been announced!

My memory for this series is so vague, maybe it's time for a re-read, haha~ I believe I've read this series before, and I think it was pretty good although the plot is strange. I remember liking Wataru series, so yeah.

What do you guys think of the sequel?

I'd always wanted to read it because it seemed pretty popular, even got itself a taiwanese drama adaptation- which I tried watching but kind of got confused with the entire premise...

Whoa, I'm suffering major nostalgia right now. I loved that anime when I was a little kid. I couldn't wait to grow up and have a life like that. lol. Glad I didn't. Hmmm, I'm not really interested in reading the sequel, but I might watch it if it becomes an anime.

Why not? Is the anime better than the manga? I don't even remember the manga anymore, and I didn't know it has anime adaptation, lol.

I don't know. I never read the manga. I just don't like melodrama for the sake of melodrama so I'm going to stay away from it. Like I said, if it becomes an anime I might watch it out of curiosity and nostalgia factor but I'm not super excited about it. Yes, I do have a Georgie icon, one the most melodramatic anime of all time but that was the late 70s early 80s. I don't need to see the same "shtick" over and over again 30 years later. I'm not criticizing Marmalade Boy, it's just that my preferences have changed a bit. We'll see.

There is a new serie about Steve Jobs that started in may issue of Kiss ( by the mangaka of Therma Romae)

So yeah maybe the manga would be interesting, except that it's in Kiss- so it's marketed as Josei-- now I wouldn't know what to expect of it in literary direction as josei- like, what aspects would the manga highlight to capture its josei readers.

Finally, I have found a great josei. I like the french title Puzzle since it is really a collection of slice of life stories which put together make what has become one of my favourite girl manga. I hope stilleto heels pick the English translation like they say they would.
Has anyone read some other serie from Ryou Ikuemi ? I may try Principal.

Puzzle is the French title, Kiyoku Yawaku is the Japanese one.
It's not a collection of oneshot but moment of life of several protagonists viewed from different people. So the first stories looks like oneshot but little by little you learn more about the characters.

That one is complete but only vol 1 translated..

No I saw that it was not scanlated anymore so didn't start it. But the critics are very good so it's sad it is unfinished especially since the english editor stopped

Your link is dead.. What?? There are so much version of this story already.. I thought most countries have their own, including mine(which is crap, oops sorry)..
Oh, please.. I wonder if people never be bored with this kind of stories.. Oh, Maybe i'll take a look just for their casts..

yeah the link is dead, but there was another article about it on DramaFever.

I meant, could they ever pull it off. Remember, if you love shoujo, or asian drama- one thing you've adapted to is to take things at face value you know? Like you have to accept plot devices for the good of the show, vs the "realism" of western TV...

so I don't know if they can pull it off, or even if they will, they will have no market for it.

I just finished I'm Not An Angel. I find it so much better than Nana. Of course, there is always this shoujo 'I love you so much that we have to break up' required writing phase that I never understand but the manga is so cheerful that I forgive Yazawa.
