Even if Silver was really stronger than Gray back then, that's not an excuse to say "since we didn't see Silver's limit he might very well be stronger than Invel", because we could also say "He may have been stronger than Acnologia as well" following the same logic.

Invel was way stronger than Gray, so even if Silver was stronger than Gray as well, he might still not be at Invel's level. Invel could probably take on any Tartaros demon alone, Mard included.


And this is talking as if Gray was as strong when he fought Silver than he was when he fought Invel, which is not the case either and his growth further supports that Invel stomps.

Gray couldn't eat his ice bcs it was too cold for him so how's Silver who's weaker than Gray going to?

Gray never once during the entire fight tried to eat Invel's ice. Where was this headcanon from?

Without PIS and CIS Silver will win this or at least stalemate given his resistance towards cold and advantage of eating Ice.

The way Invel's powers worked, it kind of countered any chance for an ice slayer to just "eat his ice", since he entirely disregarded creating constructs of ice and focused solely on directly freezing his opponents through cold that was much colder than what Gray could generate; so cold that it was "able to freeze Gray's ice itself".

There's no advantage of eating ice in this fight, there's only freezing to death.

Invel is an ice mage, sure, but he's what he himself calls "a pure ice mage" and he doesn't create things with ice.

Ice slayers don't eat "ice mages powers", they eat elements; "ice", in this case. The fact that Invel focuses his magic not on "Ice Make" like Gray makes it so that he can fight without creating anything for Silver to eat, while he can instead focus his magic power simply on "freezing". Silver cannot eat "frozen things" in the sense that they're not made out of ice, simply covered by it. On the other hand, Invel has the advantage because he can freeze Silver's ice constructs just like he could freeze Gray, who at the time was much stronger than when he fought Silver.

"Resistance to cold" is something both of them have, but Invel is able of greater cold, and his magic power alone was able to make Gray (again, a stronger Gray than the one Silver fought) shiver. A MP that, even if we were to ignore Invel's feats, should anyway be way above Silver just going by the fact that he's a Spriggan.

If we go by that, Invel has the advantage over his opponent, not to mention he also has snow magic (that, once again, is not ice, so not on Silver's menu).

Silver loses bruh. It doesn't matter if he can or can't eat his ice lol. Plus Invel's powers are far more than just ice as shown when Gray's ice was frozen by Invel and Gray's resistance was bypassed by Invel's cold. Invel's power relate more to cold than simply ice.

It isn't up for debate rather or not Invel is an Ice mage or if his attack are ice based because this is all flat out stated in the manga. Multiple times throughout his fight with Gray he and Gray describes Invel magic as Ice magic. His Armor is called Heavenly Ice armor, He states Natsu and Co broke out of his Ice. He even has an an attack called Ice lock.

Invel stomps. Alvarez Gray (prior to PoF) was barely evenly matched with him and he had surpassed Silver's level of power a long time ago.
In fact, I'd argue that Tartaros Gray was already stronger.
