Similarities(or differences) between eyeshield(the character)and the real NFL Es21

sorry if a thread like this already exists..

just want to know if its true that es21's author really got the inspiration from the Charger's star RB LaDainian Tomlinson..

saw the guy play(LT) and i gotta admit, he's good..

so far the similarities i can point out is:
appearance-wise,
both wear eyeshields
both have the same jersey number(21)..

i do remember seeing an interview with LT in which he said that he does see "running paths" while in the game and he "explodes" through it..

does anyone know what LT's 40-yard dash record is?

other than that, what other similarities or differences can you guys point out about these two..
