I will raise a very awkward question but maybe Excalibur play a role in how Shinigami reproduces.

I mean, it is the sharpest and most poweful weapon is the world so it could be it's used to cut fragments of the shinigami when he needs to produce a heir.

Look on her right arm, this "soul-badge" is there in both frames and Soul wears his on his hat, it is must be her.
But well, i gues next chapter we gonna see some black blood action.
