Re: Who's the most strongest guy in op ?
Like I said - Infoboxes show titles, not facts. They've been wrong before like how Enel's infobox states he's a god, yet he isn't. "Strongest man in the world" is a title WB gained thanks to his reputation. BB, however, purposely lacks a reputation because he didn't want himself to be known at the time. If everyone knew what BB had done to Ace and Shanks though, the world would be singing a slightly different tune as to who it views as the "strongest".
Those infobox contains character information and current status.
Enel was said to be God of SkyPia. Which was true at the time he was introduced. He was replaced (GanFall) after the infobox was shown for us reader. Same with WB, he is the current strongest man. He will fall, but that is in the future. Im talking about the present not the future.
btw Enels title is the name of the ruler or governer of SkyPia, while WB's title is something u gain with fighting power.
Also, consider the source of these statements. These statements stem from characters who are top-tier and know WB quite well. They have a slightly better clue on what's actually going on than the vast majority of the world.
Plz read again WB vs Shanks. Shanks is talking about the future.
Lastly, do you honestly believe an out-of-date infobox is worth more than what we know about BB?
Outdated? There is a different timeline: 1. BB eats his DF and flees 2. WB was introduced 3. BB is revealed.
Those infoboxes contains character information about the current present. As BB was revealed he already ate his fruit, yet Oda stated WB as the strongest. Which means BB is atm weaker.
Should we ignore things such as BB scarring a Yonkou, eating the world's strongest DF, defeating two of WB's commanders, becoming a Shichibukai with a 0 bounty, and is the person who is obviously going to be the final villain?
Yet I fail to see how that would put him above WB, even though his ability wasn't shown. btw "strongest fruit" is relative. There is no such thing as strongest fruit, since its fighting power is determined by the user. The fact that Luffy will beat the crap out of BB should proof my viewpoint, whereby I assume u will agree with me.
BB is a Shichi and WB is a Yonko, those groups are standing in whole equal. If we consider a fight between those two guys then words like Yonko and Shichi has no meaning.
And u talked about the future again: "going to be the final villain"
No. WB is known as the "strongest". He only retains that title until he's beaten or the world agrees with people like Shanks that BB is more powerful. So far only Buggy stated him as the strongest. So ur point that everyone acknowledged him as the strongest is invalid.
Luffy is a horrible example because he's far from being top-tier; he isn't even in Ace's league yet. BB, on the other hand, has demonstrated that his power is indeed legendary.
You didn'tt get my point. While Luffy had a known power up, BB didn't had one. Thats why Im saying WB is stronger. Again, those infobox tells us about the current (not future) facts. Oda already knew about BB power and strength, yet he stated currently some1 else as the strongest.
Allow me to repeat myself: It's common for mangakas to not reveal everything about a character in one go. Why didn't we know about Aizen's strength early on? Because Kubo wanted to keep it a secret. Why didn't we know about Pein's strength early on? Because Kishimoto wanted to keep it a secret. Why didn't we know about BB's strength early on? Because Oda wanted to keep it a secret.
Then why did Oda state WB as the strongest? I agree with u that mangaka not reveal plot keys early on. But why was it necessary to state WB as the strongest? In Naruto or Bleach was no-one stated as the strongest.
I will repeat: u can't compare WB and BB's case with something in Bleach or Naruto. Kishimoto and Kubo didn't state some1 as the strongest. They reveal plot keys if the time is ready. While Oda already revealed WB status.
That one piece of evidence appeared long before we knew the truth about BB. Mangakas add new information to a series as it progresses. What we learned last week can easily be retconned with future chapters. It's no different than the matter regarding the Admirals. Aokiji was originally stated to be the "strongest" before Oda made it clear that the same thing applies to the other admirals.
About Aokiji, that was a translation mistake. Which is already cleared.. anyway.
Tell me 1 Mangaka who stated one of his character via infbox as the strongest, but was defeated or proven wrong without a power change in the story.
That infobox showcases the viewpoints of characters in the manga. People in OP, like Buggy, think WB is the strongest, though individuals such as Shanks disagree with that assertion. We know Shanks words are relevent while Buggy's are not because Shanks has fought BB and WB while Buggy has only seen WB in action.
Show me some1 acknowledging WB as the strongest? Buggy said WB is the strongest pirate, technically there could be a stronger Marine. No-One acknowledged WB as the strongest. So far as we know, the character only put him on a high lvl. You get what Im trying to say? These infobox are telling us the
neutral current facts.
You're saying BB has no idea about WB's strength and how it compares to his own despite the fact he served under the man for decades? lol.
I will give a simple example based on real life, I hope u will understand. In my neighbourhood was a small family with 2 kids. Those kids lived since birth together. The older one 22, the younger one 17 years old. While the elder brother went to university and put most of his time into study the younger put most of his time into training/fitness (coz of his gang). Some day they had a big fight, the younger one thought he could win, since he has a trained body while the elder isn't physically fit. In the end the younger one was hospitalized with serious injuries. He challenged his elder brother, even though they knew each other, he was too confident in his trained body. Same case with BB, even though he probably knows about WB's strength he still things he is stronger.
So I will ask u again, why do u have so much faith in merely BB words?
Fighter (character) tend to overestimate themselves with new gained abilities. I agree WB will fall, but
currently no one could beat him fair 1vs1.
We can also doubt WB's title if the author blatantly hints that Character X is more powerful than WB.
If those "blatantly hints" are gained though power ups (DF, training) after the WB introduction, then yes. But that was not the case.
Please quit overlooking the fact that Oda wanted to keep quiet about BB's actual strength before he made Shanks drop the bomb to us, the readers, in order to give BB proper hype to his character.
PLz quit overlooking that WB was stated as the strongest, while BB had his fruit. There is a different time line and plz stop mixing up the future with the present. Even if the future is in 1hour (one piece timeline)!
Oda never stated WB is the strongest, only that the majority of people in the OP universe think he is the strongest. We, the readers, had no reason to question this general consensus because Oda had no intention of telling us the truth about BB until Shanks met with WB for whatever ??? Shanks wanted to discuss.
I posted above but I will ask u for proofs again. U claim the majoriy of the people thinks WB as the strongest. Plz show me any proof. As far as I know, they only put him on a high lvl, while no one was shown to say he is the strongest.
If I may repeat myself: the infobox are information about the character, which are about the current facts.
Because BB knows what he's talking about.
So did Enel.
Oda made BB say that. That is Oda hinting that WB is not the person who is actually the strongest.
No, that is BB arrogance.
We haven't seen Akainu in action, but it isn't rocket science to figure out he'd kick Luffy's ass in a heartbeat considering what we've seen from Kizaru and Aokiji. Besides, what's being narrow-minded here is people viewing an out-of-date infobox as credible evidence while simultaneously dismissing everything else we know about BB.
Well, if BB gained his ability after the WB's introduction, then I would agree with u. But there is a different time line.
___________________________________________
1. I agree WB will fall, but will happen in the future.
2. WB's title is currently valid. Like Enel's "God of SkyPia" was valid as he was introduced. Even though WB introduction was years ago (our timeline) in one piece only a few weeks or month have passed. In that time no power up was mentioned. I repeat BB had already his fruit.
3. Those infobox contain neutral information about the character, whether or not the living character acknowledge it. Example Enel : He was not acknowledged as God (name of ruler; like president in America) of SkyPia, but he was. until (Luffy defeated and) GanFall replaced him. Same with WB. He is currently the strongest but he will be replaced some day in the future.
But no u can't compare Enels title with that of WB. While Enel was said to be "God of Skypia" WB was said to be "strongest man". Enels is only limited to SkyPia and it was the name of the ruler, not meant to be the strongest in sky pia. While WB include every man on the world. His title is still valid, since we haven't seen a power up of any character. BB, Garp, Sengoku etc are still as strong as they were as WB was introduced. Until its said otherwise.
@mugiwara84: I will reply ur post later. Sry Im short in time right now. I thought I would manage both of ur posts, but I miscalculated.
