Midnights does, August's doesn't, likely due to the fact that he has to cast other magic.

As for Ajeel's magic, he turns swords into sand, not really useful against Eileen. He can turn into sand himself too but he has to consciously do that, so August might as well just dodge, it's probably more efficient
Not really, Gildarts held up well in CQC.
Jellal's not untouchable in Meteor, so August isn't either. Meteor increases movement speed, not CQC speed, similar to Laxus lightning body.

Like I said, there is only one character in August's tier, and he is far from unbeatable. In terms of speed, Eileen can enchant herself and in terms of CQC, her dragon form is unmatched, staying away and spamming spells is the only way he survives.

Jellol becomes the fastest good guy with meteor (with exception of DF Natsu). And this isn't all August has. He can combine it with Racer's speed magic and Cobra's mind read. THIS makes him untouchable within his tier

Sure, Eileen can enchant but I doubt it provides nearly as much of a boost as meteor or racer's speed magic. And even if you assume it indeed does, for the sake of argument, then August can instantly copy it to enchant himself, and even nullify it from Eileen.
In terms of physical strength, dragon Eileen is unmatched within her tier. But overall CQC? I disagree. August has way too much enhancements to make him fast enough to make him untouchable within his tier. A combination of meteor, Racer's speed magic and Cobra's mind read, on top of his base which itself is above Gildarts in CQC, is alone enough to make him untouchable within his tier

Unlikely considering Midnight can't attack and use it for defense. I'd say it's simply a case of August finding other magic more useful.

Ajeel isn't physically immune, he's immune to swords. Natsu can smack him in the face just fine.
August didn't overwhelm Gildarts in CQC, he overwhelmed him in the fight, and he did that using his ability to nullify magic and with spells. In terms of pure CQC Gildarts was the superior.
So? Jellal still gets hit all the time. Never seen August combine magic and even if he could it still doesn't make him untouchable, just difficult to hit, which he needs to be just to survive.

August can't nullify magic people do to themselves as far as we've seen, and even if he could, Eileen would outmatch him in enchanting any day.
August's base speed isn't above Gildarts either.
He isn't even untouchable within Gildarts tier, let alone his own. People like to shit on Eileen thanks to her performance against Erza and Wendy, well the same is true for August, if you're gonna say Erza and Wendy putting down Dragon Eileen is fair, then so is whatever Gildarts and Cana did. If you wanna say August could have done more, then fine, but then that applies to EIleen too. She's August's equal for a reason, August might win, but it's far from a guarantee, both could quite easily take each other out.

what ever happened to this thread. we were talking about strategies, and now this

ok if august is ds. technically he can even be superior to aconologia (provided ofcourse he can copy him) sure aconologia roar will be far above august nullification hax. but if august copies aconologia, why does he have to copy, just eat the god damn roar, instant power up like natsu.


also, all my stategies were based around the fact that august is not directly attacked atleast magically. and his copying magic still keeps him a step behind his opponents
