It's 3 actually, they wouldn't be able to pay him all that I think. He is easily worth more in this FA imo
Okay that makes more sense.

Also I'm glad Melo is getting another year in Portland. I feel like that team suits him and he's comfortable with the role he has to play there with Dame and CJ.

KCP coming back; I guess at least he gets his bag.

Tristan Thompson to Celtics? I guess they were needing a good center.

Yeah most big names are out but Bogi is available, Cousins, Gasol, Saric, Whiteside, Korver, Baynes, Reggie Jackson... That's kiinda it for the relevant-ish players.

--- Double Post Merged, ---

AD is naturally turning his option down but getting a fat bag with the Lakers... I assume.

I wonder if he gonna manage to trick another team this time
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

good news for you, Bryn Forbes left the Spurs
--- Double Post Merged, ---

now they need to trade DeMar and Aldridge for people who actually play defense
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Spurs should go all in for Ingram. They need a young first option to develop with Derrick white, Murray and Lonnie Walker. neither of those 3 can be a first option if they wanna contend again
--- Double Post Merged, ---

pop could also use Kuzma well as a 2nd or 3rd option on scoring. Lakers fan shit on him, but you gotta take the context into consideration. He have potential and can score.

I don't think the spurs will do anything to be competitive and they surely won't be tanking, so that's that. Bummer but welp.

Ingram is getting the max really, no chance he leave imo.

Mitchell getting that $$$.

Sheesh. The price tag for rookie max went way, way up from the last 4 years. I almost don’t even want to know what his supermax would look like.

I wonder how Gobert feels. There’s been some contention about his and Mitchell’s contract. The Covid debacle also didn’t help things.

I don't think Pop wants that, that's the thing '-'

There were many players available, they could had gone all in for the draft... And yet nothing, annoyingly passive.

He shouldn't feel anything because he is one dimensional and can only defend the rim.

yup its crazy. but yeah you gotta pay if you wanna keep them. Each team want at least one player that's gonna keep them relevant even if they won't win chips

At this rate, how long you guys think before someone lands a Mahomes-sized contract? I give it 5, just guessing.

nope. it won't grow before long. NBA revenus went down by a lot, they were even talk about reducing the cap
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

they lost china contract and they need to recover from covid
--- Double Post Merged, ---

during the last decade NBA have been booming, that's why cap and salary increased a lot
--- Double Post Merged, ---

players make 50% of NBA revenue

When you take into consideration of all the above, it’s actually a miracle the rookies even get that number.

Just a reminder, Freakin’ GIANNIS’ current contract is only worth half of THAT.

A Mahomes-sized contract would’ve probably been achievable in the next 5 years, disregarding the China debacle. But now it’s probably more realistic to expect that in 7. Whatever the case, I’m betting it will happen before the end of the decade. Unless some team goes all hail mary and hand out a John Wall contract.

Tfw the fucking lakers were head and shoulders ahead of the rest last year... and yet here they are as good or even better :shootme

Tho they do not have a lot of depth for defense, imo, so if e.g. Gasol goes down I can see them suffering.

Baynes to Toronto... yay I guess, pobably the best of what was available.

Yeah I think with losing Javale and Dwight they're losing really powerful big men, who are quite a bit more dynamic compared to someone like Gasol. Let's see who else they bring in. I'm still really bummed they didn't keep Rondo. FFS.

@scav Heat giving Bam the bag.

Lots of players getting their max recently; glad for guys like Ingram, Mitchell, Tatum all getting theirs. Especially Ingram.

You didn't lose Javale, you shipped him out despite being cheap because he is dead weight lmao. You got Harrell and Gasol to complement AD depending on the matchup (and he will probably play the 5 again when it matters).
