YES they lost!!!!

Spurs have had a very good campaign so far and are still amongst it, seeing as everyone is dropping points carelessly as of late. As much as it hurts to admit it, it's been very entertaining watching their live matches.

I've got City to win the league, unless they REALLY start to slip up(which I doubt they will) cos they've got real strength in their squad; more so than any other team in the league.
Oh come on dude, don't tell me you can't root for any other London team :derp

*sigh* Same old Liverpool... got chances and didn't take them. Again that near post defending is horrible, and again Reina makes a mistake that costs us. City played a good game, but I can't help but think that game should have drawn.

In other news, Man Utd lost! :woo

Only if they suck, I hate any London team that is better than Arsenal. :hip

I wouldn't say a draw but IF Liverpool had scored first, the result may have been different or at the very least made for a more exciting and thrilling game.

This thread has been quite dead. So yesterday Real Madrid manage to draw against Barcelona, even though they were loosing for 2-0 in the end of the first half. I wasn't seeing the game with full attention but based on what Real Madrid did, i think they deserved the win. Barça back on the first half, had just one thing that RM didn't, which was "luck" on the finalization.
Mourinho played not defensively like on some other matches against Barcelona, and Real Madrid gained a lot with it. Both Ozil and Kaka had a good performance. I think that Real Madrid's chance of winning kinda raised when Guardiola had to substitute Iniesta, that is without any doubts one of the pillars of Barcelona's team. To stop Barcelona you have to stop their midfield and for that too happen you basically have to stop Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas. If you manage to not leave open "spaces" even them will have difficulties. And during some moments Real Madrid, manage to do that, but with Iniesta out, Barcelona lost the capability of controlling and keeping the ball and even cause many problems with extraordinary "game-vision" they have.
And i am not saying this because i support Real Madrid, but i think once again Barcelona was "helped". "Disallowed" goal, that could have been granted as valid .... a penalty not marked over Benzema. Ramos got the second yellow card, but that fault wasn't for an yellow card IMO.
This is basically some of the most polemic moments of the game. But they were also some that "helped" RM. I didn't see it, but it seems that some RM's players could have not ended in the game.
And Cristiano scored again ... and RM's had an awesome performance. I just hope that the RM's fans see that they win a lot by having a coach like Mourinho and a player like Ronaldo. I mean they don't manage to get everything right, but so far RM's made a perfect performance at the Champions League, it's in first place on league with 5 points advantage than Barcelona and just got eliminated of this trophy when they could have be the one going to the next phase.
Both Mourinho and Ronaldo, are a bit polemic and kinda arrogant, but i don't have any doubts that they do everything they can to have success. And their curriculum proves it, so RM's fans shouldn't act like they did on the last game of RM's on the League.

And it seems that Liverpool might win a trophy this year ... after eliminating Man City.

And about Porto, Danilo has finally made his first minutes with "Porto's shirt" and there's something really good about him. He is quite young, but left a really good impression so i am really expecting a lot of him ... He even gets more credits by the fact that he can play at a lot positions :woo

The Premiership just gets better and better this season. Luis Suarez didn't need to throw oil onto the flames yesterday. It'll be interesting to see how Kenny Dalguish spins this one. And now Liverpool fans can't claim pro Man U FA conspiracies this time.

Manchester City is going to be destroyed today by my team. Maybe not ... but i just hope it ends being an awesome game. But for us to have a chance of passe this phase, we have to make a good result at home. We all know that Porto has few good results on England, specially at Arsenal's place :crying

Unlucky jorpedo~ :comfort

I was so happy when Porto scored. Considering, how City were playing earlier in the first half I thought they would struggle with a draw but didn't think they would come back to win away. It sucks. D=

Utd struggled against Ajax. First half was boring. Second half picked up. De Gea made a great save to deny De Jong. What a goal that would've been hey? ....turned out to be even more epic save instead. :derp

I missed you dude. Where have you been? Come back! :crying

Yeah. With this result is going to be almost impossible for us to get through this phase. Porto normally has a lot of difficulties on England and i don't think it will be different this time.
About the game, i think we did a fantastic first half ... even though we had quite some sudden problems like Danilo's lesion, which killed our right offensive depth, because our coach had to to put Maicon doing that position which basically is good when it comes to defend but can't say the same about his offensive skills.

Their goals were almost given by us, since the first goal, was really weird and the second one was a bad approach of João Moutinho. The draw would have been the fairest result imo, because i think we were really superior on the first half.
Hulk, James weren't on their days :crying
And didn't really like referee's performance. Too many faults ... and imo there was a penalty not marked by him in favour of my team and he gave an yellow card to Alvaro Pereira which forbids him of playing on the next game, and which lead to a emotional perturbation on him, which minutes lead in a goal, and then a city player ... don't remember the name, did the same and he had already an yellow card and didn't see an yellow ... which is kinda unfair imo.
But we didn't loose because of it and neither am i using them as our scapegoat, but i really think ...

You are the one to talk lol :XD Didn't see you on on ages :rant
And i already have :derp

Arsenal lost again yesterday; so we're looking another trophy-less season; which would now make it 7 season( since the FA Cup win in 2005 against Man Utd). I don't think the call for Wenger's resignation has been as high as it is now, many devoted and die-hard fans I knew are now even turning their backs on the team. It's a dire situation for the club right now...

As for the match itself, I didn't watch again but read that the loss was deserved and that the team performed very poorly, even though the manager was looking for a quick response after the 4-0 humbling by AC Milan in midweek.

Naah I think that Wenger really built a strong and stable defense, he should stay.

:-_-

The thing is, he most probably will stay since he has the board's backing but how long can he continue NOT delivering trophies? I guess there's a limit to confidence even for them. He's bought a lot to the football club as whole, building a really strong structure and ideology about how the club should be run but all that stuff means nothing if it in turn bring some silverware; cos Ferguson has done the same thing at Man Utd and seems to be able to build new teams every few years but every Arsenal fan out there know that we've not had a proper team since the winding down years of 2006-7.

What's worse is I don't see who could replace him, the only other viable choice would be Martin O'neil but he's at Sunderland now....

Wenger's problems are manyfold. A strict wage structure means that heads can be easily turned if a high roller turns up. Nasri, 'Cashley' Cole, Gael Cilchy(Although many were probably glad to see the back of that last one). It also makes it harder to bring new players in when they can get more money elsewhere. Benzema seemed to be going to Arsenal for sure until Real Madrid rocked up.

The midfield is too easily bullied. It's the problem Spurs had for years and have only solved recently. No proper holding midfielder. Even Barcelona lose the ball every now and then. Someone needs to be there to either win it back or at least slow down the opposition.

Only one reliable foward (Gervinho is ok but needs to put away more of his chances).

But your main problem is in defence. Made even worse by the fact Toure and Gallas may end up on sides that finish above Arsenal this season.

Arsenal's biggest problem imho, is their midfield. Forget the defence for now...the style of football they're trying to accomplish depends heavily on the midfield. They don't have the experience in the middle to pass around like they're supposed to. If there's no midfield, how do you expect the defence to play any football if they're always under pressure? That's another problem Arsenal have... they start the game confident, but when the other teams starts playing hard and pressures them they break down.
Right now their best defender, imo, has been injured for quite a while now, Sagna. Vermalaen is always on the sidelines....Squilachi is an own goal specialist. Koscielny(not sure how to spell it lol) is good but can only do so much. Their strikers.....RVP is probably the only one you can count on, even though Gervinho has the speed, he rarely gets into a good position. The other strikers are invisible, cuz I haven't seen them in a while.

I honest felt my blood pressure so high, right until Matri low kicked the ball in. What a match. Great saves by Buffon, without him we'd surely be lost. \O/

And despite what 3c might say, Juve were the better team, if anything then in the 2nd Half.

Arsenal 1-2 Tottenham; man...we're getting creamed, you can tell where the confidence lies. Spurs only have to sit back and let Arsenal do all the work and they just counter; and they look so dangerous against the run of play too. :darn

As for the Juve game, I didnt get to see it, but Buffon still has magic left in him from the highlights I saw.

God, I hope we hold onto the score cos we desperately need the points :bored I'm not even bothered about the fact that it's a derby. I'd rather lose both derby but still finish ahead of Spurs :hmph

It wasn't a surprised he'd be sacked, it was just a matter of time. But most of all, many pundits expected him to be given til the end of the season and be judged then. I guess Abramovic had grown tired of the poor results and decline in performance.

I kinda followed - this - site for a while and couldn't help but giggle when it turned "yes". xDDD

Well I'm confident Torres will start to deliver like mad, he just needs a different coach. That's what the problem was. The coach.

Heh

Heheheh

Hehehehehehe

Sorry =(
