Hey Mendes, I have a question.

Is Benfica crazy unstoppable right now? AEK is playing them on Thursday, and we're having the worst season in the the past 28 years (3 goals 5 games, 1 victory).
I have season tickets, should I not go because I will start to cry when the score hits 7-0 or should I go to watch this glorious Benficacaness of it all?

I ask because I hear they have scored 21 goals in 5 matches, of course this doesn't always reflect how good a team is.

They've been that good, day yes, day not. I mean, they struggle to win 1-0 in some easy matches, but go 8-1 or 5-0 in the other half... They're playing very well, although I don't believe they can keep that mad non-stopping pressure football every time in the season. I guess the schedule doesnt favor who plays against Benfica now xD

Liverpool outdone by jovetic, arsenal leave it late to oust the greeks, sevilla run riot in glasgow, barcelona cruise by kyiv, lyon anhilate Hungary's finest, while stuttgart - unriea and alkmaar - liege all end in stalemate.

I'm happy Arsenal won and kept a clean sheet, despite missing a lot chances. Shame about Liverpool though, on the back of a 6-1 victory. That says a lot of the strength coming out of the other European teams as well as Liverpool's perfomance.

hahahaha he totally sucks! He only plays coz Sporting's coach, Paulo Bento, is stubborn and keeps playing him, even tough every Sporting fan begs him not to. He's good at defending penalties, and bad at everything else. He's short for a keeper and a very insecure keeper... MU better look somewhere else :P

Well I doubt any of Man Utd's scouts would bring him to the club if they see him play 2 matches in a row. Not only he's not tall, but he seems to be very skinny

Man, Milan is sucking a lot this season
If they keep this up they won't last long in the CL. Bayern x Juve was a nice match to watch, Diego has been pretty good lately, Dunga could give him another chance.
Wolfsburg is a nice surprise so far, after the not-so-good beggining of this bundesliga season they're showing in the CL why they're german champs.

The Man Utd match was played very close. Wolfsburg played well, Man Utd on the other hand gave their opponents a lot of chances and space. But in the end they came through, the same can't be said about Milan. Haven't seen a goal at the San Siro in a while now.

Real are looking good, Cristiano with another brace; that's 9 in 7 now for him. Can't wait for Barca vs Madrid this year!! I wonder which of the two will slip up in the league first?

I completly forgot to note that yesterday was the anniversery of Arsene Wenger's 13th year at Arsenal. He's changed the game so much not just in England but around the world about how to run a team. A sports columnists for a UK paper yesterday said that he was one of the first people who thought he'd never succeed in the english game, but admitted now that because of Wenger and others, foreign managers are seen as more likely to be successful with english teams rather than British managers.

Thierry Henry also had a few things to say, as well as saying that one day he'd like to come back. There was also a very nice interview with David Dein, the former Vice-Chairman at the club.

Real Madrid lost. Well, it was to be expected with such an unbalanced team. Moreover, a team that's supposed to aim for all the titles can't have Guti and Gago on the midfield. Ever. Manchester United is another team I don't see going anywhere this season.

They have had foster in goals for the past couple of months, when van de sar returns i think there defence might wake up a bit. Having said that though i agree, if ferguson manages to win the league with that group of players than it'll be up there with his biggest achievements.

They're defence is world class, so is there strike force (the depth is another question though). But the midfield? Even he doesnt seem to know what his best midfield is. Lets start; nani is the portugese diaby, he is simply the most infuriating player you will have the misfortune of coming across. He delves from brilliant to horrible with such regularity is comical, amazing one game rubbish for the next ten. Then comes valencia who whatever united fans say, was meant to replace ronaldo and other than impressing with his huge arms (he does have some HUGE arms) has not done much else. Obertan, tosic have had a combined premier league appearance of 2. So they are unlikely to play a significant role. While Scholes and giggs are a combined age of over 9000 (like literally) they cannot be expected to play week in week out and put in such high performances. Fletcher justs runs around a lot and plays the odd token through ball. Carrick is out of form, and has been benched for most of the season. Anderson is a good player but he cannot carry a whole midfield. Looking at it, Arsenal have Fabregas and Arshavin, Chelsea have Lampard and Essien, Liverpool have Gerrard and Mascherano. Those are all at least two guarnteed world class midfield players in their starting 11. Untied dont have that. That is not a league winning midfield...unless ferguson makes them that. But if that happens than that says more about the premier league than anything else.

Anderson on his day is WC, he's only 20, when he reaches his prime he'll be a beast. It's funny we only 2 points behind Chelsea, yet people saying we're going to fail and...

Arsenal have Fabregas and Arshavin, Chelsea have Lampard and Essien, Liverpool have Gerrard and Mascherano.

And liverpool and arsenal have done worse that Utd.

Please one draw and you guys act like we've lost 3 games in a row.
