Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter are going to have a collaboration game for the Wii U. That reminds me... I wonder if there any update for the Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei game.

The second half of the year was quite poor for me. First half was amazing (tomb raider, bioshock infinite, last of us ...), second half was mainly GTA5 & Battlefield 4 for most people: two kind of games I don't really like that much. Second half of the year is normally FIFA time for me but FIFA 14 was horrible. I don't know how much time or how talented you need to be in order to enjoy that game at higher difficulty (wouldn't be a problem if lower difficulty wasn't so easy).

So, I'm back on Skyrim ... AGAIN. And I still enjoy playing it (funny to be a powerhouse walking among puny dragons being slayed in one or two attacks).

A new generation of consoles is almost always the time of poor gaming releases. It will take a few months before getting real next-gen games.

I honestly have no idea why Fifa14 changed so much...13 was such an improvement and enjoyable, now 14 is super slow and doesn't feel enjoyable at all.

Ah well, good thing my 3DS arrived today,so I'll be busy with Pokemon

What kind of football could you play in FIFA 13? If you played agaisnt a 5-2-3 pacy team, and you tried tiki taka it was impossible. Pace was the only style possible... which isn't really fun, realisitic, fair, nor requires much ability.

Pace is no longer possible for most players due to the randomness of many situations. Against the AI, it's just awful. It's the first FIFA game in which I have no fun even when I win. The amount of sheer luck or concentration needed is off the charts & is ruining it.

Plus, I disagree with you. I liked to play with 3-4 stars teams in FIFA 13 and if you were using only pace against Dortmund or Barcelona ? Well, good luck.
FIFA 14 removed the possibility of fast play.

But pace wasn't my main problem, randomness was a much bigger problem to me.

There are some people who mastered the game, maybe you did but most people got bored before & simply quit. I didn't even play for a month ... usually I play at least once a week until the next fifa release

IMO, the target/goal "REALISM" is slowly killing sports game. It's no fun. But at least, FIFA 14 is still playable ... I once tried a recent NBA 2K, I still remember my first attempt to dunk with Blake Griffin at training camp without opposition: 2/10. I was amazed. "NBA 2K, not even once".

I only played pacy teams in online, as there was the only consistent way to win / have fun. I got tired of trying no-pace teams. I'm not talking about offline gaming (as the IA doesn't spam OP strategies like online people do). Offline I played a 4-5-1 Tiki Taka regardless of the team (Arsenal, Real Sociedad, River Plate, etc) and had a lot of fun that way.

EA really has a problem trying to balance offline and online gaming. FIFA 13 was really enjoyable offline but really unfair online.

The last NBA 2k I played was 2k12 and I loved it (I believe it was even named sports game of the year), so I can't agree.

PES is a perfect example of what you say. Until PES 6, they were clearly superior compared to FIFA. It wasn't a simulator, it was more of an arcade, and it was really fun. 2008/2009 didn't show anything different and fell behind compared to FIFA's improvement, and PES 2010 decided to make the game more real, super slow (and even change the ball physics) and that's when FIFA started to be way better. Last year, a lot of people complained that FIFA didn't feel real at all (online that is) and that's why PES was better (on the other hand, the majority praised FIFA 13 because of its gameplay).

In terms of football games, if I have to pick my fav ever, it's PES 5 ,super unrealistic if you compare to any football game nowadays. But games are there to be fun, not real. Hell, if I wanted reality I'd go out and play football myself, lol.

Anyone on Win8 here? Whenever I alt-tab out of my game (when I'm playing in full screen) there's a chance I can't go back into my game. Specifically the screen goes black but the game is still running. It seems I can still click on stuff in-game, I just don't see anything. Happened many times now, to games such as Magicka, Sacred 2, Cities in Motion 2 etc. And then I can't get back to my desktop either. Couldn't shut the game down since attempt to close them via the taskbar doesn't give me any response, and I can't access the Task Manager either. I can however get to the start menu and restart my comp. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm on Win8, Nvidia GT745M if that helps. It's a new laptop, so the specs mostly like aren't a problem, not that the games are new and require much spec to begin with.
