Go huge! Big is both beautiful and practical for all those large and overpriced components which you will be gently forcing into it!


Also, as many fans as you can cram onto the thing (unless you are going to go with an alternative cooling system).

a loud clattered pc in not cool and it pretty annoying, many fans lead to noise and 6ou should always build a PC to be as silent as possible and also energy efficient

Never had much of an issue with noise (though maybe I am just getting deaf in my old age?) - least not with any of the fans I have bought/installed.
Energy efficiency however... dunno if I can say I ever aim for that - mainly trying to keep my rig as cool as humanly possible.

Ok...so I just ordered a Corsair Carbide 400R...so even though you guys are a bit late with the advice at least we can discuss my choice, which was more based on gut

So I have:
Intel Core i5-4690K CPU
Nvidia GTX 980
MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX mommaboard
Corsair HX750i PSU
Seagate SSHD

I think that's all the relevant info...

I read this case was designed with positive pressure in mind, which I dunno if it's SUCH a big difference from negative, when it comes to cooling performance, but I think my soul would've been a bit calmer with a negative pressure case...I really have no idea tbh

PS: oh and yeah....just air cooling

Finished the single player of Battlefield Hardline. The story is pretty great in execution even if some of the twists are foreseeable. I loved how they treated it like a ten episode tv show. The characters were well developed and intriguing and it was action packed. Most enjoyable shooter story since Modern Warfare 2.

That is a bummer. Something really weird is going on with Konami lately.

Their relationship with Kojima seems like it's on the rocks, to the point where they are removing his name from everything. They de-listed themselves from the US stock exchange for some reason. Now they cancel Silent Hills.

The funny thing is that I heard that Igarashi already has 90% of the fund needed to carry out the project before he started the campaign. So basically he and his team use Kickstarter to check whether Metroidvania games still have a place in the market.

Wtf....really? That sounds like complete BS to me honestly. That genre is alive and well in the indie market...anyone with even a cursory knowledge can see that.

I got that info from a podcast, I forget which, either Giantbomb or Co-optional IIRC. Maybe because Igarashi is out-of-touch with the current market situation (Western market in particular)? I don't know for sure.

What they said was basically that the purpose of the kickstarter was never really to fund the game so much as to gauge the kind of interest there is in the game and then be able to show that to publishers and investors. Something they can take to a meeting and be like check this out, people want this game. Which is a good strategy and good use of kickstarter, IMO.

Now that they have crushed their expectations they might not even need a publisher though.

It's crazy that people would expect that. It's sometimes seems like people don't quite get how kickstarting works. Crowdfunding is great but it's often simply not enough. Even something like Divinity Orignal Sin. Which was a very successful kickstarter ended up using outside funding to supplement; which they never would have gotten without a successful kickstarter.

The end result is essentially the same and the money people gave is going toward making the game just like the kickstarters said it was. The only difference is that the amount they were looking for to make the game happen was vastly less than it would have needed to be otherwise.

Though granted it's easy for me to feel that way since I didn't fund it, as I've never been a big metriodvania type of gamer.

The problem is it's someone who is established in the industry, someone who already brings clout. The idea that the kickstarter was mainly to draw interest seems bogus to me.

And sure, it's only a kickstarter, but look at how much money it's raised...it's sort of gone beyond someone working out of their garage.

I guess it's an issue I have with crowdfundng in general. The notion of these stretch goals being an important part, and that backers have priority is sort of "anti-creative process" to me. Obviously it's a good option for people who don't have the means to flourish on their own...but this is Igarashi ffs...
