Are you going to play it on PC? I'd buy the PC version eventually, but I think during my first several playthroughs, I'd play it on my PS4.. I mean Bethesda is pretty much well-known for releasing bug-ridden games, so I guess I prefer safer approach. (Not to mention that I doubt my laptop is good enough to play it)

Same for me. Not to mention I don't see much need to get the PC version if they already have all the features I usually get mods for.

My setup for playing PS4 is also lot more comfortable than my PC which is at a desk. Plus VATS always seems like it fits a lot better on console than PC to me.

Especially since the game has revamped FPS mechanics and the ability to aim down sights(which did not exist outside of mods for Fallout 3). On PC is there even a reason to take a VATS shot for 47% chance to hit when we could just do it manually for a 99% chance to hit? With a controller you can't instantly sight a target like you can with a mouse so I find VATS much more useful.

I've been playing tons of Splatoon. I didn't really care much for Splatoon, but I bought it to pass the Summer and I'm still playing it. Met a lot of fun people on there and even met a nice Japanese girl who I occasionally message to. Quote amazing for a game with no voice chat.

The Splatfest are pretty fun too, but EU's choices in Splatfest themes have been hit or miss.
Like, one theme had North Pole vs South Pole, which the fandom had to turn into a Polar Bears vs. Penguins theme, and another one was just recycled from the US.

Also, for those who don't know, Splatfest is a once in month battle contest where you can choose between two different themes and then battle it out to see who's better, for example: Cats vs Dogs.

Oh, and I'm super excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X to come out. Been waiting nearly 3 years and it's at my doorstep.
Only 30 days until the world ends, and I'm okay with that.

Huh, Cloud is going to be in Super Smash Bros. I didn't expect that since FFVII was for PS.

Just wondering... Why is Cloud added to a Nintendo game? Shouldn't he be with the PS all-stars?

Because Final Fantasy certainly isn't a Nintendo trademark.
Hence I am a bit confused.

Isn't Metal Gear that too? Wasn't Snake featured in another smash game?

And like Sharkbait pointed out, there were FF games on Nintendo systems in the past, same for Metal Gear.

These characters are more like guests.I guess Nintendo can afford to borrow them for their Smash games. And did you know that Sony originally worked for Nintendo before the PSX came out? They made a famicom console for them.Things weren't as tense between Sony and Nintendo in the past.

I know that. And I also know that there are some FF games for GBA for example.
Just wondering if Sony decided to give up on the smash bros-copy. :D

Well I already pointed out that Smash is more popular. And as far as I can tell Cloud is owned by Square Enix, who isn't owned by Sony.
So that's your definite answer about why Sony can allow Cloud to appear on Smash, they simply sold all their shares of Square Enix.

Well of course it is more popular. But for someone who doesn't own a wii U or a DS and just a PS4 it is completely irrelevant if it is more popular or not. All Stars was simply not as good as a smah game and had too many flaws. (Like a really small roster...)
My thinking process was that IF All Stars was actually good then it would've made more sense for a character like Cloud to appear in that roster.
Nothing more.~

Thanks for the information though. :)

Well I assume that people who are avid players of Smash will always get a Wii U or any upcoming Nintendo console. And these days many gamers own more than one system, and the Wii U for example is also cheaper than the PS4 or the Xbox one. So even if a game is a console exclusive, many are willing to chip in to buy a console just so they can play it, like Bayonetta 2. I don't think All Stars will ever achieve the same success as Smash, it's just a pale copy of it.
But now we know that Sony has no rights on Cloud anymore. The implication is that he can show on other consoles, maybe even have an FF game on other consoles than the PS. But it's quite possible that Square Enix will stay faithful to Sony, just because the PS4 is just that powerful, compared to the Wii U.
Oh and now that I remember it, FF games did appear on the DS, so they weren't that faithful to Sony.

It's not THAT surprising. Snake has been in the game despite being a Konami IP, same with Sonic and Sega, Pac-Man and Namco, Megaman/Ryu and Capcom. Now Cloud with Square-Enix. While some of these companies have been competitors in the past, they've also made games for Nintendo systems as well. Sega obviously doesn't make consoles anymore (rip), but Snake and Cloud aren't Sony IP so they really don't have a say in the matter as far as I know. The game isn't a MGS or FF game either, as any sort of exclusivity is probably limited to those types of games.

I do find it interesting that Sonic and Snake were introduced in Brawl, but Snake didn't appear in Sm4sh. I guess their contracts were different and Snake was a one-time thing. I'd be surprise if Cloud was any different, unless Square-Enix furthers their relationship with Nintendo in some way.

Gosh I hope or... Or rather as long as the big titles stay where they belong I don't mind.
A big FF on the Wii would be such a waste if you ask me. Just in terms of power.

^graphics whore

I don't mind less detailed graphics if the game is fun as hell. So having an FF game come out on the Wii U(which will prolly never happen) isn't so bad. Obviously you won't play it because of the detailed graphics, but say they tried some of the old medieval setting like in FFIX it could be really nice. I'm not fond of the modern/futuristic setting of the recent FF games.

I'd think the main reason to put cloud in smash would be to introduce him to younger audiences. FFVII is from 1997 which kinda means that a significant portion of their target demographic wasn't even born when the game was made. Specially if we consider the game will be out years from now. Kids nowadays probably know FFVII from dirge of cerberus and crisis core lol.

Yeah that too, it could be a way to "hype" the upcoming FFVII remake, by making Cloud appear in a pretty popular game like smash.

Well, it isn't like Square-Enix doesn't give any love to Nintendo since they've released a bunch of stuff on all of their recent consoles. But no, don't think Cloud being in Sm4sh would lead to something like the FF7 remake to be on the Wii U or anything.
