Fighting games look way too intense for me.
Ha, that's one of many reasons why fighting game isn't as popular as other games. You either mash all the buttons or doing crazy nerdy stuff that most people do not understand.

I hate this, still not motivated to buy a PS4, I will buy a Wii U because of SSB4.
There is no need to buy one, considering that there is a PC version as well. It is also confirmed that you can play cross-platform as well, so having either version works. Also, I do not think you need a super high-end PC to play Street Fighter, so hopefully that's also a consolation for non-console FG-er.

I can do some animu fighters, like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm and other ones. I tried BlazBlue which I love the story but the fighting is too intense online, lol. One of my friends always beats me.

Ah finished another game recently. I bought Need for Speed Rivals on day one with my PS4 when it launched. Oddly I didnt ever finish it back then but apparently made it to like the last chapter which was surprising when I did the final race once I booted it back up this week.

Really great Need for Speed and intense. The story was so good and memorable. I teared up.

I love the credit song, X Ambassadors - Love Songs Drug Songs

I'm looking forward to Saints Row Re-Elected & Gat Out of Hell.

Saints Row IV was quietly an absurdly well written game and one of, if not the, funniest games of the last generation. I always thought of Saints Row as a subpar GTA. But I think differently of it now. The last two GTA games took themselves too seriously for me. With games like this I want something stupidly fun and brilliantly stupid.

Anyone interested in Life is Strange? It's a episodic game made by Square Enix, going to be released January 30th. Looks like they're going back to their roots.

I'm definitely interested in it.

Though it's actually being made by a French developer called Dontnod Entertainment and is just being published by Square Enix. The other game they made was Remember Me, which was published by Capcom.

It looks like it's really focusing on story like Heavy Rain and the various Telltale Games. So that's the main thing I'll be waiting to hear about.

Huh I wonder why I thought it was made by Square...ah well, it still looks great.

And yeah, I've been loving all the games Telltale has been putting out, Wolf Among Us being my favorite. Here's hoping that Life Is Strange puts out.

Speaking of TellTale, have you played the GoT one? I'm impressed that they got the actors from the show to do voices.

I'm not a big Game of Thrones guy but I did play Tales from the Borderlands which is fantastic. It's different from the Walking Dead, since it's basically an action comedy, but it's really well written.

This year's lineup was...

I posted a bit about it in the Steam thread. It's my first TellTale game, but it's enjoyable so far. One character's position doesn't really make sense to me, but I guess they wanted a viewpoint in King's Landing.

Kinda got mislead about the "choices" in the game...since they don't actually effect the story in any way...

I have the latter two. FTL is pretty interesting, but I didn't really get deep into doing a ton of runs. Kinda difficult for me. But I like how stripped-down it is. Reminds me somewhat of Papers, Please.

Gone Home is a pretty unique game as well. I was kind of thrown off, given the scenario I was expecting a horror game...(too scarred in the past I guess). But it's a good walking simulator. Nice narration too.

I didn't love Gone Home. It was ok, but to me it just seemed like it was mystery game about discovering high school drama. The tension it builds up about what your going to find at the end was solid but the actual subject matter was too slice of life drama for me. That's just not my thing.

FTL I've enjoyed. It is hard, and I've died a lot, but they are fun and hilarious deaths more than frustrating ones.

It's been lauded for the whole story with your character's sister, but ultimately I think they focused too much on her. The plotline with your mother and father is completely forgotten about...at least, that's what happened with my playthrough. I don't mind slice of life, but the payoff wasn't as high as the build-up. Plus, it ended rather abruptly.

Yeah it's hard and frustrating lol

Not really new news (and not enough news about it to have its own thread), but what do you guys think about the Warhammer game being made by The Creative Assembly - Total WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH?

I am pretty hyped - a big fan of Total War games and I like the notion of one set in the Warhammer fantasy universe.

That said, I am a little wary of how many changes would have to be made to make the game work as a Total War game. For example, would they include the winds of magic? Would they also include the massive risk factor associated with casting spells/using artillery?

Skaven would be a nightmare of randomness (he says having not played the Warhammer game since I was at school - I am sure it has changed a lot since I played it last) and randomness isn't always appreciated in games such as the Total War franchise.

I love the idea. I'm not a huge Total War fan. The last one I played was Shogun 2. They tend to get a little stale for me. But I love me some dark epic fantasy. So maybe this will give it the spark I want.

It's going to be interesting what they do with the campaign. They've always done these quasi historical settings. This is the first time for them with trying to incorporate magic and monsters. I wonder if there will be an actual storyline or if it will but sandboxy like the other Total War games.

An actual storyline would be anathema to what makes Total War games so good.

It would also be wasted resources, in my mind. The Joy is seeing if you can take over the (old) world by whatever means you feel most appropriate.

It would also be an awesome way to spice up the different races - Rather than all being pretty much the same, just with different starting zones, racial bonuses and initial resources, all the different races would/should play far differently (if done correctly).

This could go as far as some races not really owning cities, but appearing wherever they like, some spending most the time underground (how this would work?) and others playing more 'conventionally' with city owning, taxes collecting and peasants suppressing.
