I dont know if the Demon Clan attacked people other than the goddesses, but i think its easily possible that the giants and the fairies opposed them simply because they looked menacing and monstrous, and were manipulated by the goddesses into thinking that they were exactly as they appear.
But what we do know is that the Goddess clan wiped out an entire village of humans just to kill a couple of civilian demons, so in my mind they are the ones who the other clans should be teaming up against.

As for Mel and El being culpable, Mel certainly is, Elizabeth is a little less clear because we dont know exactly why or how she fell in love with Meliodas, but i cant say i approve of staying with him afterwards and joining Stigma, though i also cant say i wouldnt do the same thing.
I'm not saying they're saints, but they aren't the villans the fandom makes them look either.
I agree with this, though it does irk me because they are portrayed in the manga as saints, despite being written differently

Meliodas betrayed his clan but the Demons weren't saints either. The war already existed, It's not like the world was at peace before Meliodas left. He knew it, and wanted a way to stop it. But the fandom never blames the people that took adventage of his choice, it's always "if Meliodas never had..." but he had a different reason, he didn't want other clans to take adventage to it.

The war between Demons and Goddesss didn't start beause of Elizabeth and Meliodas, they took a descision and the Goddess Clan took adventage to it.
I agree with the fact that Mel and Eli choices weren't completely good, but you guys always talk about them as if they did it on porpuse and they actually wanted a bloody war or something.
They wanted peace, did it work? No.
Their choices were partly wrong? Yes. But you always say that they caused this war when the ones who did it are the Gods. They're the ones that caused the discrimination between clans, they're the ones who have dumb racist rules of "omg demons and goddess cant be together".

What I mean is, people acts as if Meliodas and Elizabeth caused 100% of the war and deaths. The thousand of deaths were because of both clans that always wanted to kill eacher other, because of the DK and the SD.
They both took risky choices but only wanted a world without war. Why nobody never blames the two gods, the AA, the TC and the rest? Seriously this "Meliodas and Elizabeth are the ones who caused the war" is getting exaggerated.

I'm not saying they're saints, but they aren't the villans the fandom makes them look either.
Sorry Rev can't agree completely.Look if Meliodas really wanted peace,he should have used his position in the DC and Elizabeth her position in the GC to force both the clan's to come to the discussion table.Something like what Hashirama and Madara did in Naruto.

But Meliodas betrayed his own clan,it is not like that Eli left her clan or war.Meliodas's actions would have led to the extinction of the Demon Clan had it not been for Mael's leaving GC.

Also before Meliodas's betrayal no other clan was involved in war.

Meliodas has been mostly blamed for the holy war though tbh I am not his responsibility in this is all that relevant. We know enough about the war to know that the goddess clan and demon clan were at war well before the holy war itself started. We have seen multiple flashbacks of each clan murdering the other a number of times. We know meliodas and mael even fought. The issue here is that the "holy war" wasn't ultimately the beginning of the war itself. The great holy war as far as I can tell is an escalation from an already existing war between demons and goddesses that had been raging for centuries where additional clans finally picked a side.

I agree with that Meliodas could've better become the DK to end all that mess.
Still, that makes me remember when he cried saying he didn't like being how he used to be, so maybe he just despiesed be that serious guy or something. At that point, I don't know.
About Elizabeth, we don't know if she had the permission or ability to be the next SD.
Now Elizabeth being Supreme Deity would've fix everything.

Point is, these two have faults , but they aren't the ones who caused the war neither the only and complete responsabiles of the deaths.

She's probably the younger sister.

I think Nakaba would've mentioned Elizabeth having brothers and sisters, it would be weird to reveal it at this point.
Probably Mael was the one to be, or in the end the SD didn't care about having a next heir at all.

He would also have brought up A heir by this point. Heck maybe the memory shenanigans with Male by gowther was a double cover up and instead of transplanting the GC strongest they were infact erased and replaced by another. (taking the strongest of the goddes and placing them with the demons would have just caused another imbalance due to Mel no longer fighting for the goddess.)

But once the commandments are absorbed, why would there be further fight? It's too late to stop Mel and fighting further would just cause more death and pain for nothing.
How has Mel been portrayed in such a way that may allow us to deduce that he would care or not retaliate to actions against him in kind?
Ludo has brought the fight. Having absorbed the power, Mel would be gone for another realm. Ludo, his hate, forces of the sd, the sd herself. They remain. They are factors. That is a further fight. If Mel remained for awhile, would he or would he not kill those in his way? His words and actions as of now may indicate he would. Not the ideal “end to war.”

Having Mel become all powerful resolves everything except Meliodas and Elizabeth's relationship. We already know that Meliodas doesnt want meaningless death and he has already said himself that once he absorbs the commandments Elizabeth's war wont matter anymore. The DK wants Mel to take his place, i assume he either wants to retire or die, i imagine living for billions of years alone in Purgatory would be trying, either way he wants Mel to take his place. SD cant do anything, 2 of her AA are dead, Mael is about to die, and even if Ludo survives he is no match for Zeldris and the Masters together, and even if he was a match for all 3 of them it would only take one of them going Indura to defeat him, things are even worse for her than they were 3000 years ago and she wasnt willing to take on the Demon Clan then.

A lot of people seem to give the Goddesses/Stigma a lot of shit for not being able to defeat the weakened demons, which to be fair some of it is understandable since Stigma had a large period of time to win. But considering:

-Gloxinia & Drole left and joined the Demon Clan

-Gowther, neutral to both clans decided to mind-fuck Mael out of revenge which deleted an AA and a blessing.

-SD thought it was a good idea to delete x2 AA tier individuals from her army when they were needed.

I could list more reasons but those are the most important. The Goddeses couldn't defeat the weakened demons because external influences made them lose 3 AA tier people, sunshine, 2 Kings + countless fodder. Cut them some slack please :cheez:3c

Yeah, they had plenty of time before that. I'm gonna say that the reason why they couldn't beat them before all the shit that @OtakuFreak listed is because:

1. Elizabeth didn't want to attack the demons, so for most of the war she didn't do nothing. As for Mel, he was also finding a way to stop the war just like Eli and he probably only killed fodder demons. Two of the strongest warriors of Stigma contributed practically nothing to the war.

2. The DC had Chandler with True Night, who countered hard their strongest warrior (Mael). Additionally, he had also FC which is a general hard counter for the GC. Cusack and Zeldris, who should be AA level, were also there.

3. The DC has more warriors than the GC. Plus, they have Induras that, as far as we know, are pretty OP.

Overall, I believe that the reason why Stigma didn't beat them in time before all the shit that @OtakuFreak said is because the DC had a lot of good warriors (some of them could counter the GC' strongest warriors) and OP monsters (Indura). Moreover, Mel and Eli, two of the most powerful warriors of Stigma, didn't do practically anything.

I'm more concerned with the fact that the Demon Clan is going ALL out while the Goddess Clan have only Mael(without his Grace) and a cursed Elizabeth with +-1-2 of life span representing them in this War. Meliodas os almost Full Power + zero emotions but even with all this shit happening the GD is probably making a mega hair, her nails or sleeping.

Sure, but at the same time they still won the war considering they sealed away the demons.

That doesn't put them in a positive light in the slightest.

It does, because they still won the war despite being brought down to equal strength to the demons.

lemme give you some perspective.

The GC sealed the DC in desperation, at the expense of themselves with the CoED seal which was subject to an eventually obliteration. The most you can argue for a without sounding very lame is a stalemate. In the end, general Fraudrin survived & successfully revived his superiors the 10C, the CoED is getting weaker & it's about to go down once again.

The Goddess Clan sealed the Demon Clan at the expense of their own physical bodies.

The seal was to be everlasting if none defiled and messed with it. If the Humans had never awoken Fraudrin, the Demon Clan would have never been able to undo the seal and the Goddesses would be at the current state of returning to their original forms.

Had the silly human race not unsealed Fraudrin and tried to meddle with the seal, the Goddesses would've claimed supremacy.
