I wasn't able to find out if it is a Shonen or Seinen but I would say Seinen bacause makes more sense to me

Strange that I haven't seen any nominations for this Manga in this category. Is it really that unknown or simply really old and slipped out of peoples conscious, or maybe I'm alone in the opinion that this is the best Manga?
It is old, short and defiantly worth a read if anyone of you hasn't read it. I consider it a league above Berserk,Lone Wolf and Cub,Phoenix and One Piece who are all in the league below it

Best Seinen Manga: I nominate Blade of the Immortal (Mugen no Jounin). This manga has amazing art, a badass protagonist, great character development for both the "good guys" and villains, and a superbly complex plot.

Best Villain: I nominate Shira from Blade of the Immortal (Mugen no Jounin).

This guy is an uber creepy sadistic killer. He mutilates women while their still alive then kills them. Also makes a weapon out of the bones in his arm after he loses his hand. Intense!

Best Artwork: I nominate Blade of the Immortal (Mugen no Jounin) by Hiroaki Samura. This manga has amazing artwork! The cover pages are beautifully realistic and the movement in fight scenes is superb. Also has excellent facial expressions and panel organization.

Best Costume Design: I'll actually nominate Naruto here. There's plenty of awesome costume designs in Naruto, even if the lead himself's clothes suck.

Not when he wears the EPIC cloak!! c'mon, Kishi!!! give us the cloak back!!!

Hopefully, he might wear it in the war. It's risky, all right. On one hand, it could lift the Konoha shinobis' spirits but on the other hand, Iwa shinobi would easily find out.

I definitly recommend it I honestly didn't like D.Gray-man too much at first, but I force-read myself through 6-7 volumes (because of a friend), and suddenly I got to a point when I... realised *something* and found the series to be amazing (still don't know excactly what though, maybe the more original plot, all the mysteries and "foreshadowing"/symbols inserted during the series made me interested..?).

I've reread it houndreds of times now, and I still keep noticing details I've never seen before. I am absolutely hooked

I also did the same with OP I first I thought it was too silly, undeveloped, shallow characters, "too cartoonish" and random.. oh how wrong I was!

Could this be concidered on-topic? XD I... tried to explain what I like about DGM

One thing i do wonder though is how can the Eclipse be a plot twist...i mean i know i saw that coming like miles before, and there was really no reason not to with the way Berserk started and the way it was foreshadowed heavily all along.

Just kidding But the anime version really sucks compared to the original. Just saying
It's not very good standing alone as an independent anime either, though it does get a little better after a while (and it casts a lot of great voice actors)

Great to see that DGM is getting some love, almost compensates for the damage that Ongoing One Piece Overrate is doing to me as a manga lover. However i do think that DGM sort of lacks in plot flow...things get heated up so suddenly that it made me feel like the mangaka just woke up one day and thought "what the heck its getting too slow i want faaaast"

One piece nominated for the best Shounen is definetly understandable, but as a "best manga overall"... I would agree with ashher about it being overrated.
I hope I'm not breaking any rules by discussing the nominations in this thread
As for Bleach being the "best Artwork" manga, I definelty don't agree with this because in Bleach, only the characters look great because the artist is skilled in drawing people. But the problem is that he never puts an effort in drawing the background. So when you are reading Bleach, most of the time, the only thing you can see are white / black empty spaces behind the characters.
