Watched Sunset btw, the voice-over of the dead main character made it pretty interesting, especially his occasionally witty comments, but to be honest, it was not an instant classic for me.

Well yes, it is an early attempt for Hollywood to make a commentary on itself, as all Wilder films it's character driven, clearly to me not his best film, but yeah many regard it a classic. And yeah him being dead and talking about himself was meta-theatrical as well as the end when news cameras and movie cameras were filming the "star", I really liked how Buster Keaton and Cecile B. DeMille play themselves. I personally think Irma as the best Wilder film.

Watched Avanti! by him as well, it was fun, it had all the regular plotting and story that he is used to, but even if it was 2 and a half hours it felt lacking at times and sort of unfinished.

Yes, themes that are still relevant like him being her "Toyboy", as well as the comments made by her servant, a big time director in real life as well, when he said 3 directors were great: D. W. Griffith, Cecile B. DeMille and himself. The story wit the young reader was anticlimatic tho, it seems it was a way to get the final act going and her as a character was left to the sides ... Well I got goosebumps from Irma, I have no idea if this film will be experienced the same way to others as me, I kind of felt a connection.

And I need to watch Le Samourai first.

Yeah, one of the characters was getting pushed over by the other prostitutes at times, no matter how funny, their life was sad, I mean under the comedy there was sorrow, in all of them. But then again I also liked the morality displayed by the Jack Lemmon character, he always plays role that appeal to a regular human feelings as Matthau said: He hints at something we may even be.

The Equalizer

Film was pretty awesome. Nicely paced story, not to complicated at all and straight to the point. Acting was really good for the story line being presented and Denzel pulls off his own spy-like style of charisma and defense with his character. Definitely recommend, for anyone who likes these kinds of mild-action films.


p.s., Next Friday, David Fincher returns with "Gone Girl", can't wait for this one.

I saw Gone Girl today and thought it was a great adaptation. My complaints are basically... nothing. It was very true to the novel. Twisted and wicked. Go see it!

This list makes me laugh. DC needs to plan this out better and trying to cram so many movies in under 4 years is ridiculous.

Yeah, I would say for Fincher, "Gone Girl" was way better than the remake he did of a Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. If you like the remake, that's fine then, but I didn't. Deal with it.
