I hope Ralph wins Best Actor at the Oscars. Kevin Spacey was a bit arrogant in his speech, tho provided he was joking a bit ofc, lol.

For the categories they competed in? of course
I don´t know, i am pretty ok with all of the wins, though in some categories there were choices equally worthy of it

Kind of weird that True Detective was in the miniseries categories for which it was nominated. I know that it's a miniseries for the cast perhaps, but it's still an ongoing show.

Especially considering that they submitted it for best drama for the Emmys a while back but who knows, maybe they thought it had a bigger change to win it compared to Best Drama but well, the same applies to Fargo and The Missing, both are ongoing as well.

Saw Pacific Rim on last night. Easily wins a spot in my top 5 movies ever. I want to control a Jeager so badly, it looks so cool the whole time. The sword and plasma cannons even, mindblown. I was a truly awesome experience from start to finish.

Obviously way too early but i can´t say i like it, Joss Whedon understood with the first movie to keep it light and funny all the way, even the almost groundbreaking fight at the end had many comedic scenes (not that you could take Loki and his alien partners seriously anyway). This looks way too dark imo but we will see.

Here's his acceptance speech 1:14:10

Yes it's a bit arrogant. Just a bit.
I have seen the entire show, thus also the acceptance speech obviously, what´s arrogant about it?

It's mostly because of the tone of his voice that it sounds a bit arrogant to me as well.

I have seen the avenger trailers and somehow it feels weird that ultron would be the only bad guy. Isn't there something weird there? As far as the trailer implies ultron was built by tony... And it goes skynet on everyone. But why are the mutants (thats right, I called them that) siding with him? And when we see tony fighting hulk... there is no other avenger fighting the hulk. And we see thor grabbing tony by the neck. And we never see iron man fighting alongside any of the avengers. Supposedly tony is going to be the antagonist in captain america 3 but as far as I can tell he will actually be a secondary antagonist of sorts in this film.

Maybe they'll start the Civil War plotline sooner than thought. But it makes me wonder how exactly they're going to go through with that arc without many actual superheros.

I finally saw Birdman last night. The film seemingly drops you right in the middle of things and the characters just lead you from there. I found it to be quite chaotic but the good kind; funny but with a good amount of authenticity to the whole plot. Really enjoyed it and Michael Keaton was just so good here.

i was able to watch Theory of Everything recently and if the actor won the Globes for it, well deserved.

Got to note the great bitch slap. XD

Have recently seen The Imitation Game with a great performance by Cumberbatch, good to see him at the top again after his downfall with Star Trek into Darkness.

Also seen John Wick, what a fucking action masterpiece. Enjoyed every single scene of that, welcome back Keanu!! Its big box office success was well deserved.

Followed by A Hard Day, in which a corrupt detective is accidentily spiraling into more and more problems. Very good, yet not great. :P

While I still couldn't force myself to see Boyhood, I've seen Linklat's '93 Dazed and Confused. Great movie with appearance from McConaughey, Affleck, Jovovich. A really great depiction of a groupt of small town teenagers in '76. Felt like an 70s OST at times though.

Calvary, while highly praised, let me doze off far too many times.

The Hobbit: TBotFA was a huge disappointment, too much CGI, horribly directed, unreasonable that I had to watch 2+ hrs for that little plot. There was always something happening, but the end result was just meh.

edit:
For got Birdman, damn what a master of his art Iñárritu is, one fluid movie experience with constant ups, keeping one wondering till the end of what's really going on.

Have always seen his movies with a dub, only since True Detective I did learn of his rather distinctive dialect. A friend spoiled me of that "all right³" scene right before we started the movie though. He was the best character in the movie, OG McConaughey.
