I haven't watched the movie of Scott Pilgrim, Arrogance, but I really like the comics. They're awesome.

I'm not too sold on the movie, although I think Michael Cera is perfect for the role. But I think you should try reading at least one or two chapters of the comic first before trying to grasp what the movie's about, since the comics' also kind of gag and wtf.

I honestly think Scott Pilgrim looks stupid. I'm looking at the trailer for it and I'm just like "wut? ". At least for Resident Evil I already have an interest in the games so I'm way more compelled to spend my money on that compared to something I find stupid. Thats obviously just my opinion but the concept behind Scott Pilgrim is not appealing to me.

You see as a fan of the Resident Evil games the movies do nothing more than disappoint. I read the books before going to see Scott Pilgrim having been excited by the trailer when I first saw it and it didn't disappoint. I think it's poor marketing that has given people a bad impression of the film because what you see in the ads and trailers just doesn't give you a great sense of the overall feel of the film.

Scott Pilgrim was hilarious! Right from the opening credits with the Universal Earth logo and music playing like it was designed on a commodore 64. Too bad they don't have the video part of the clip too. There are just so many pop culture references throughout the movie, you are bound to miss stuff in the fast pace.

I watched The Other Guys last weekend and I thought it was hilarious. I don't know if everyone else thought it was as funny as me, but I laughed pretty hard at every little nuanced joke. I almost went to see Machete instead, but we wanted some lulz, and we got our money's worth. XD

Will Ferrel was no doubt awesome, but i think Marky Mark sort of outdid him. I guess it's because I expect to see Marky Mark in more serious types of roles (and yet I still refer to him as his ridiculous pseudonym lol) , so when he's funny it becomes magically funnier. And OMG I didn't even know Micheal Keaton was in it, but I LOVED HIM!!! It helped that he totally reminded me of my boss, but whatever. He wasn't as epic as Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder, but I also didn't start off hating Micheal Keaton and therefore need to see the role as redemption either. If that makes any sense at all...

I honestly can't wait for Paranormal Activity 2!!! It looks like they really made a lot of money with the first one so now they have a better budget and it seems like things are gonna be ten times scarier now. The trailer makes me shit my pants .

I watched Knight and Day today. I enjoyed the movie, action was bit exaggerated as usual but nevertheless, it was funny and entertaining. I will give it 8/10.

I saw Machete today. Surprisingly a good movie. Well, it is Robert Rodriguez movie, so the movie is definitely not a brain killer but if you're in for a lot of violence, entertainment and a quite good cast (Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Don Johnson,...).

Watched Ong Bak 3 few weeks ago, and I have to that it was the one of the worst movie I've ever watched it had a drastic change. went from a martial art movie to a dance movie, imaginary stuff ...

Yeah, Machete is awesome. For those who liked Grindhouse, it's definitely a must-see. The movie is just as good as both Planet Terror and Death Proof, imo.

Lindsay Lohan felt a bit... "wtf is she doing in this", though. However, while she wasn't great, she wasn't bad enough for her small part to drag the movie down.

Same, just watched it yesterday. Somehow there's good chemistry for Diaz and Cruise. Its a delightful action comedy to watch for.

I tried to watch RE: Afterlife, and i love all the effects, action, actors, etc.. as a sci-fi/action fan like me looks for. But as a gamer fan, it didn't met much of my expectation. Though compare to Prince of Persia which is a video game-based movie too, afterlife gave me more (maybe +1) thrill for the zombies/monsters spree.

From what I can tell, Prachya Pinkaew didn't touch that film with a ten foot pole, which means it should be avoided. You should check out Chocolate. It can be overly sappy at times, but the choreography and direction are excellent (clearly, Panna Rittikrai and Prachya Pinkaew should only work when they're paired with one another...or perhaps that should only apply to the former).

I didn't really like Chocolate. I found it boring and I don't think I even finished it. I don't know, it really takes something special to move the plot of a fighting movie and I didn't think that movie had it. I found the chick annoying, much as I wanted to think she was awesome. I can't even clearly remember what the movie was about. *shrug*

Yeah, the plot was lacking (I was originally going to write that, but I figured that would discourage people from checking it out), but you didn't watch the rooftop/balcony fight? For the love of jebus, fast forward, as that fight was pretty much on par with the staircase/dining hall fight in the Protector.

I watched two movies yesterday:

Operation - Endgame : All I have to say it was bad. Nothing good about it, weak story, weak ending.

Legendary : It has John Cena and when I heard about it, my impression it would be senseless action throughout the movie. But I was wrong. I'd say 5/10 or 6/10 at best.

The Expendables - excess testosterone - action stars + more Bruce Willis + more CIA conspiracies= Red

Red gets a 9/10 by my book for being possible the best ensemble action movie I've seen in a while (The Expendables was great, but it's not something I'd watch if I wasn't looking for a testosterone driven movie).

I'd give Red a 6.5/10. In my opinion, John Malkovich and Brian Cox were the only strong elements of the film. Marvin's paranoia and recklessness really catered to Malkovich, though with less room for intensity than one hopes for when seeing Malkovich. Meanwhile, Brian Cox's performance had an incredible vibe. In my mind, he was the only one who really carried the secret agent persona.

Until he rescued Miren's character, I was convinced that he would betray the group (no, that has nothing to do with the fact that he's Russian. In most of his scenes, his acting seemed to imply his character might have a hidden face. For example, when Miren failed to tell him she loved him during the dance, his delivery convinced me that he wanted revenge and had been conning the group).

Saw the Social Network earlier tonight and I quite liked it. The acting was really impressive, even Justin Trousersnake was good. The kid that played Mark Zuckerberg was really good and the music was amazing in some scenes, particularly the rowing scene. 8/10

I just have to say that I saw Born of Hope for the first time and, as a LotR fan, I LOVED it. It must be one of the best indie movies I've seen period, and I've seen a lot (I love Indie movies). It's so emotional and it really is a great addition to the trilogy. The characters in this movie are very, very, defined for such a short feature. Or well, the movie is 70minutes but you get to know the characters to the same extent as you do in 120minutes of most other movies. Much thanks to both Kate Madison and Christopher Dane who plays Elgarain and Arathorn. The script was great. Not too cliché, very convincing, and very professional, and the music was not bad at all.

I simply loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy but I must say that even though they are very impressive and glorious with large scale battles it meant that it had to suffer on other parts; the more "gay" parts as many of you would call it. For example, the way the Eowyn & Faramir story gets completely run over and Aragon/Arwen post-final battle likewise. And not to mention Tom frigging Bombadil is nowhere to be seen! :3

Born of Hope on the other hand is built around Arathorn and the falling ruins of the Dunedain and centres more around storytelling and characters rather than the battles between the Men/Elves vs Orcs when Sauron was trying to extinguish the last of the King's line. Seeing as, at least, Arathorn was a very important character before FotR takes place.

I don't know what the budget was for this film but I'm really impressed with the results and if you're a big LotR fan, or at least love the books, then you will enjoy the movie. If you're a casual movie fan, then I guess you will find it acceptable to say the least.
