Haha, these movies have few moments I enjoyed.

I watched RIPD and it was absolute rubbish (1/10) it just looked poorly made and was extremely cheesy. Elysium wasn't that bad, overall I'd give it a solid 5/10 for the action scenes and the plot was alright.

What were the complaints or flaws? I don't remember having much problems with the movie. Maybe because it's Tom Cruise, people are finding ways to attack the movie and make it look worse than it is?

I actually like the last 3 films Tom Cruise has made that I actually got a chance to see (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher and Oblivion) and they were all great and entertaining. Didn't see "Rock of Ages" yet.

More on "Jack Reacher" for a second, the movie had a great plot to it and the characters were well played, including the action and dialogue. Plus, there's hate on Tom Cruise because he "chooses" his own films now and produces as well, so he's in more control of his career today than in the past.

Movies I'd like to see by the end of the year:

1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
2. Old Boy
3. Wolf of Wall Street

Seriously? Oblivion was the slowest movie on planet Earth. However, Jack Reacher was good though.

The plot and characters of Oblivion were somehow mediocre but there are a lot of great movies that work very well with slow pacing... so lets not bash slow movies in general. You don't need explosions every 5 minutes to tell an interesting story.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade yesterday. Imo this is still one of the best entertainment-flicks of all time. The dialogue, the actors, the locations... it's all just a full out 2h fun-ride.

It's easily one of the best, if not the best Spielberg movies, so classic Ford and top comedy/adventure, I really should add it to my movie collection.

Just watched The World's End. And I must say, wow. This was so entertainingly awesome.

Really good writing from Wright and Pegg. Though it might have recycled some ideas from the previous two films but still, I found it really fun and the whole movie from start to finish got me engaged.

A shame I didn't watch it with friends!

The pegg,frost,wright trio is always entertaining but hotfuzz & shawn of the dead are still by far the best movies.
But world's end have a lot of qualities starting with an impressive cast. It's always a pleasure to see Martin Freeman (Sherlock, The hobbit, H2G2, love actually) and we also have the James bond (Pierce Brosnan) / James bond girl (the one from die another day) duo. But Pegg's character is sometimes too annoying for me.

Barely evaded that one. :P I love how Peter Stormare can play a crazy german or italian mafioso while being a swede. But this, that's just made for the us public and nobody else. It's like they don't even try to be realistic.

For what it's worth, it isn't a Hollywood production and the actor is Portuguese. But hey, Biblical movies never seem to be cast appropriately in the first place.

Although, someone said earlier how bad Elysium was, I still watched it. And yes, it was a total crap movie. I had so much expectations from it. Sad...

Try to not make that five bad movies in a row.

Oldboy remake doesn't seem to be any good, so you may try to avoid that one and The Counselor too.

Still have to see 12 Years a Slave and Gravity, but I will probably wait for a BD release. Haven't heard anything about Dallas Buyers Club till now, but it seems like McConaughey is on a good run for a couple films now.

Anyone watch 12 years a slave yet? I'm quite excited about that film but its going to be another month or so before its released here.
