Late to the party, but watched Man of Steel finally. It was entertaining I guess, definitely my preferred type of Superman movie. Not as gritty as I wanted, and definitely silly in some spots.

I actually like the last 3 films Tom Cruise has made that I actually got a chance to see (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher and Oblivion) and they were all great and entertaining. Didn't see "Rock of Ages" yet.

More on "Jack Reacher" for a second, the movie had a great plot to it and the characters were well played, including the action and dialogue. Plus, there's hate on Tom Cruise because he "chooses" his own films now and produces as well, so he's in more control of his career today than in the past.

Oblivion was decent, but the ending was just dafuq, because there was another Tom. Kinda took away the whole him dying thing, even though they're not the same. I think Charles knows what I'm talking about.

Ghost Protocol is probably my favorite MI movie, it was great. I think the second or third one was the worst, but still pretty good. IMO Mission Impossible series has consistently delivered. I'd say the same for Indiana Jones, but people hate the last one.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade yesterday. Imo this is still one of the best entertainment-flicks of all time. The dialogue, the actors, the locations... it's all just a full out 2h fun-ride.

My favorite out of the series, it's just so awesome and fun. Sean Connery and Harrison Ford had great chemistry together.

Still have to see 12 Years a Slave and Gravity, but I will probably wait for a BD release. Haven't heard anything about Dallas Buyers Club till now, but it seems like McConaughey is on a good run for a couple films now.

I saw Gravity, I thought it was good. Particularly liked the scenes where you could see the Earth and just how high the astronauts were... the only scary/suspenseful part, but I'm uncomfortable with heights and spoiled myself by accident day prior to the movie. The 3D was useful here, actually.


Oh, This is the End was a hilarious movie, I loved it.

Watched it few days ago. Boring for the most part. Jor-El leading Lois through the ship and Supes vs Faora and the brute were most fun parts. Almost fell asleep during final battle though. It was late and I was tired from work, but still.

Last night girlfriend made me go and watch Hunger Games 2. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than the first movie. Hunger games this time were more intense and fast paced. Loved the introduction of contestants, the diversity and the detail some of them were given reminded me of several mangas.
Never read the books, but I'm thinking about it, since there will be 2 more movies, a year apart from this and eachother.

I'm looking at the RT rating for Iron Man 3 again and I simply don't understand how so many people could think it was a good movie.

Both villains were just so bad, while the Mandarin being a fake was an ugly plot twist, Aldrich Killian being a fire w/e was even more disappointing. So uninspired I can't get my mind around that finale.

Besides the Hobbit, I'm looking forward to American Hustle:


Really good looking cast and the same producers from Silver Lining Playbook, so I've got good expectations for this.

I'm guessing it's because of Robert Downey Jr., given he is the Iron Man series.

I watched paranoia, and I have to say it exceed my expectation, since I thought it was going to be crappy. OVerall, it's a mediocore movie, but is quite watchable.

It's not really spoilerish. You kind of expect that for any film about pompeii.

Being a big fan of roman history, I'm happy their are more films being made of this time period. Something's better than nothing.

I mean, the first movie was just so um... concise? brief? succinct? simple? minimalist? like um, a nude painting of sorts- got maximum story for one entire friggin set or something. And the 2nd one just looks too cluttered in comparison it's like it's not from the same story at all.

I hear that it is based on Frank Miller's upcoming prequel to the original 300 graphic novel, so I guess it is canon. I had to look it up after seeing the trailer because it just looked like it had absolutely nothing to do with the first one. The screenplay is also co-written by Zack Snyder, although he isn't in the director's chair.

Looks awful, honestly.

The new Spider-Man movies look so damn video-gamey to me. I guess that might be what they're aiming for, though, appealing more and more to the "video game generation" (which honestly should be more than one generation right now). I still think it looks pretty terrible, though.

Okay, bit over an week ago I attended this festival called Camerimage 2013, event aimed at celebrating the art of cinematography. Mostly it was workshops and seminars that I enjoyed greatly and learned a lot from, but here are some tidbits that might interest you guys too;

- Rick Carter (Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Avatar, Lincoln) is involved in designing the next Star Wars sequels
- Slawomir Idziak (Three Colors: Blue, Black Hawk Down, Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix) might be shooting Natalie Portmans debut film as a director.
- Wicked Blood (starring Sean Bean), not in theaters yet, might not ever make it. I saw it and it was one of the worst and most illogical movie I have ever seen. Horrible script. Don't go to watch it. It was horrible.
- If you have the chance to see it, I recommend Locke (starring Tom Hardy). I really enjoyed it.
