p.s., If you want to save your money, instead of going to see "Detergent", rent or buy "Battle Royale". I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Saw American Hustle -

Peter Debruge of Variety was critical of the film, calling it "a sloppy sprawl of a movie" and complaining that the improvisational performances overwhelm instead of adding to a coherent plot." He also went on to write that it "makes your brain hurt — and worse, overwhelms the already overcomplicated Abscam retelling at the center of the film."

Yeah, pretty much agree. It was entertaining, but felt really messy. The performances were just there, and were "impressive" I guess, but there was no foundation for them in the movie. At least, that's how it felt to me afterwards. Not really worth the attention it got, unfortunately.

Rewatched Hobbit 2, this time without sleeping through half of it, still disappointing. Cage's performance in Ghost Rider 2 was just as or even more entertaining than that 3hr mess.

I watched desolation of smaug, and it's really bad. i would say it had the worst ending, but it was so incomplete that it felt like the movie just cut off . 4/10

I'm trying to keep my cool about this movie... I loved this saga on HQ and have high expectations, but I'm a little afraid of how it will work on the big screen with so many characters

The only good part about Desolation of smaug was the fighting scenes involving elves. I literally had to FF it at some parts. Frozen was ok, not that I find it amazing.

Just saw the trailer for the new ninja turtles movie. I never thought I'd live to see the day when a gritty reboot for that particular movie would be made. Is this how movies based on comic books end? I am kinda hoping that is the case. Then again, TMNT could be the best gritty reboot ever, what do I know?

Ninja Turtles movie looks okay. I didn't see, Splinter anywhere and I hope to Jesus, he's not cut from the movie, other wise, there's no reason to see this. Maybe, just maybe, they'll do the right this time and put Rocksteady and Bebop in it versus what they did with the second original movie. Tookie and Rabba and Vanilla Ice as well. Super Shredder on top of that too. "Secret of the Ooze" was kind of stupid, now that i look back on it. lol.


p.s., Don't get me started about part 3.

the new captain america is quite good. Better than the first (granted, it wasn't hard). Adding black widow, Nick Fury & the falcon helped a lot. Captain america himself is less stoic than in the avengers or the first captain america movie. Chris Evans does a good job with probably one of the least interesting famous heroes Marvel has to offer.

With that said, I thoroughly enjoyed the action and fight sequences; particularly those of the Cap and the Winter Soldier; who by the way, was an awesome role. With sequels such as this, it's always interesting to see what how the characters develop from the first. We got to learn a bit more about Director Fury and Natasha's lives during the early stages of their careers and before, but also I was interested to see how much of Falcon's story we'd learn.

Oh, I need to quickly mention how fun it was to see Senator Stern; that scene was so enjoyable.

Did you stay behind for both post-credit scenes? because I didn't realise there were 2, so only stayed behind for the first one with the "Age of Miracles".

Lol yes "arf" indeed. But when I found out what it was about, I wasn't so bummed. The first post-credit scene is better anyway and ties in with The Avengers, while the second is more about where the Captain America story could advance to, in the event that there's a third.

Scene 1:
After the fall of both SHIELD and HYDRA we see Baron Von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann) in his underground laboratory. His men have the scepter of Loki got hold of, as well as two special prisoners.None other than Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). The superfast Quicksilver bounces from one side of his cell to another, while Scarlet Witch few blocks stacks with her thoughts. Von Strucker proclaims that “The Age of Miracles” is near. And thus we immediately know how mutants are listed in the Marvel movie universe.


Scene 2:
We see the Winter Soldier incognito Captain America-exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum. Here he encounters the information about James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes. It plays threatening music, but this Winter Soldier seems indeed to have who he really is and that Captain America was telling the truth.

Well, the captain america movie came out at the perfect time considering its plot. The movie made a pretty good job at capitalizing from the whole "US spying on everyone" thingy the world is currently thinking about. I did enjoy the movie though, I am just a bit disappointed that the movie is about, as someone else said, about one of the least interesting marvel heroes. Iron man made a good point in the avengers, the only good thing about CA came from a test tube. Of course the comic book makes the point that CA was to begin with good but what difference does it make? All he is depends on the experiment, without that he would have been some wimp who fell through the cracks. Or dumb ass who died attempting something heroic he never had a chance of doing. I am a little curious about what the next marvel movie is going to be about.... Quite a few developments with this one.

The next Marvel release is Guardians of the Galaxy, then Avengers 2 would conclude Phase 2. For Phase 3 we'll probably get sequels to both Thor and Captain America, also Ant-Man is part of that. Hopefully we get Doctor Strange and Black Panther too. Not too fussed about the latter but Doctor Strange would be exploring some darker themes than Marvel has regularly put out.
