I would have to say Mos Def - The Ecstatic. Probably the best hip hop album that's come out in a LONG TIME. Great production, no aritificial features to boost sales, great vibes and top notch lyricism as always. Overall, a solid lp for the streets.

Alicia Keys - Element Of Freedom was really good as well!

Album releases mainly:
- Nas & Damien Marley - Distant Relatives LP.
- Pendulum - Immersion
- Dr. Dre - Detox (whenever it comes out that is. )

Oh yea and I might go and see Nas & Damien Marley live this summer.

I'm really into Hip Hop like I was when I was in college or secondary school, though I still listen to it, but it's not my sole focus. I've started to listen to a lot of different variety any genres.

Anyone checked out Kelis' Flesh Tones yet? Guetta fans might like it.

While the single Acapella is pretty low imo the best song is clearly 4th Of July.
All in all I'd give the album a 3/5 though, because it only got like 9 songs only, while the rest are kinda bridges, called segues on there.

Heard some leaks in february already (Scream n Shout, 4th of July, Acapella, and an other, which obviously didnt make it on the lp), so I was sort of disappointed tbh. Yet I find it's listenable.

It's so awesome!!!! Also, I heard this totally amazing cover by Jayne Rio and Summer Breeze of the song Unthinkable. They did an acoustic rendition of it and it's so damn beautiful... Also, Train's song Hey soul sister is like, the best!

Ok, so after going like 4-5 times through Aguilera's Bionic Cd I think I formed an opinion about that new piece now.

Just last week I read in the GQ magazine she was saying that she was always a fan of electronic music and loved to bring it in into her latest work, and I thought like.. woooh.. not an other chick gone Guetta. But after listening to the Lp I must say she brought more hiphop into it than electronic influences in, like the Gorillaz style.

And yes, I kinda must say I'd have prefered a Christina goes Guetta Lp than what actually came out.

The ballads are just plain boring, the up-tempo tracks got exceptionless embarrassing and awkward lyrics which send chills up my spine and the beats are just overkill...

Yes, I am disappoint This is hopefully not how the future is going to sound. My rating would be 2/5. Lame comeback is lame. It's not even worth being called a comeback, cuz she's far away from being back IMHO.

Yet I found some ok songs on there, which would be 'I Am' (best song), the prelude to Sex for Breakfast 'Morning Desert' and as for up-beat I'd say 'Desnudate' and 'Glam' are quite listenable as well.

Anywhoo...yes, I've been listening to a few "recently" new LP's;

Marina & The Diamonds - The Family Jewels LP ~ I'm very impressed with this one. It's quite different to the generic pop music that the big record labels tend to churn out (I know, it's a bit rude but it is too true imo) practically every single day lol. Marina's voice plays a huge part in the overall sound of her tracks. I love it. Great vocal range, very empowering and she can mess around with lyrics amusingly to create that fun-loving vibe we all occassionally enjoy to feel/express and appreciate all at the same time. Suprisingly, I can actually listen to the whole LP WITHOUT skipping any tracks! ZOMG! Yes. It's been a while that I actually managed to accomplish such a feat.

Favourite tracks: Rootless, Obessions, I Am Not A Robot, Seventeen ("Only available on the" Japanese Edition as a bonus track). There's another track on the LP entitled "Girls" which is pretty cool but I much prefer the beat and rhythm of the alternative version which you can check out here.

Tracks that become very annoying to the ears after a few plays: Mowgli's Road, Hollywood & Guilty.

This LP is definitely one to check out whether or not you're a fan of Pop music.

Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty ~ The long awaited LP from Big Boi! I've only given this LP, one decent play. It's not his best work, I feel like the funk and energy that Andre 3000 brings to Outkast is missing...off course a part of Outkast would be missing as this is a solo project but I'm a bit disappointed with the overall direction of this LP. Lyrical-wise, Big Boi's definitely still got it! General Patton has one sick beat! It definitely pumps you up for a fight, running or some kind of training lol. I personally dig the funk and groove of Shutterbugg, Be Still and The Train Pt. 2; it's the sounds that we Outkast fans thrive on! and dig the most! Outkast are known for their super dope bass lines and funky grooves, this LP definitely keeps the tradition alive in that respect...well kinda. Sadly, I still feel that the tracks are incomplete. Put aside the lyrics and you can feel that some of the beats are missing that something to make it BOOM! Like Speakerboxx. Good effort, slightly disappointed with the overall feel of the LP but nevertheless there are some tracks that I'll be adding to my everyday playlist.

Favourite tracks: Follow Us, Shutterbugg, Be Still, Night Night & The Train Pt. 2.

A new, up and coming artist to look out for is Sky Ferreira! Her "One" single is awesome! I love it! It gives you that light-hearted, fun and easy going feel which is pretty cool. She's a beauty as well. Ferreira has a lot of potential imho...her future is bright.

This Marina girl is really great Bugs I'm not a huge pop listener exactly because of what you said. Trashy pop music is everywhere but great pop like this one is prety rare.

Her voice is really relaxing. My favorite track has to be Obsessions.

I'm glad you like some of her songs, BBB! Thanks for taking the time and checking out her music. I agree, Obsessions is a really cool tune; the video is kinda weird and interesting at the same time. The "Diamonds" represent her fans and Obsessions was her first debut single and music video; the subject and symbolism in that video is solely to show her emphasis and love to her "diamonds" i.e her fans. It was quite a cool way of doing it. It's not a great music video, it's kinda dull in ways and boring but at least the tune keeps you interested lol.

I have to say that over 50% of my music list is older than 20 years and the new ones aren't exactly new xD

I only follow a few recent artists or bands nowadays. I bet you can count them with the fingers in your hand.

OK. Now after digging it the whole day in the car I can tell you more...
I think that Shutterbugg was a very promising song for the first single, but the rest of the album is IMO not that good. I was expecting more I think. Dunno. Tangerine is also a song I like but it might be a little annoying after going through it a few times. And Be Still is ok too I guess. The rest is meh
